A few days ago, my garbage disposal sprung a leak. I took pictures of the problem and sent out a request via Yelp's messenger. Bradley was not only the quickest to reply, but gave the most straight forward in giving an estimate and soonest time to come out, literally the next day at 6AM. I felt other bidders on Yelp asked for outrageous amounts of money to replace the end of a pipe. The plumber, Art, come with the dishwasher connector kit on hand and got it done in about 10 minutes. I really appreciate the honesty, quickness, and quality. Thank you for your work, I'll come back here first for my next plumbing need. read more

Needed someone to help after our leak mitigation contractor didn't hook up a stove and left us without for a week. I got with insurance and they agreed to pay to have someone come out. I put out a request on Yelp and received a prompt response with scheduling options from Optimal. They were even willing to come on a Saturday as I was busy on Friday. We had a time set up. Brad showed up on time. Completed the task with ease and sent an invoice digitally. Very happy with the service. read more

had a totally bizarre interaction with this company. called about a job to install an over-range microwave. we live in an older condo, and wanted to replace the original vent+fan (already removed) with a microwave we had purchased. unfortunately, that was not a simple job. it requires minor electrical and ducting work, as well as some cabinetry work (raising/shortening the cabinet above the mount point). initial call went well, i explained what was needed and we made a tentative arrangement for a next day in-home estimate. i also texted the address and a picture of the oven area. next day came, did not hear back. texted to find out about scheduling the visit, and was given an estimate (sight unseen) and a rough schedule. at this point, i expected that we would be hiring the company for this work. however, due to the fact that we had not spoken in person and he had also not seen the job (beyond the quick picture i sent), i wanted to make sure we were on the same page, so i asked what work the estimate included. note: their website says "All of our estimates include a fully detailed scope of the work to be completed. You will receive a written report with a breakdown of the cost and time estimated for your project." an hour later i get back a text saying that they have decided to pass on the job. this is obviously 100% within their rights and perfectly acceptable, but i am curious whether this is because of the previous request or whether there's something about the work (maybe visible in the picture i sent) that would be important/useful for me to know. i request a brief/basic explanation. i will admit here that this isn't owed to me, but i don't feel it's an unreasonable ask. will literally accept anything here. i wait a day with no response. at this point, i'll fess up and take my "L". i escalated, and i shouldn't have. i felt i had treated him fairly and honestly and just wanted to know what happened (i.e. was the issue with the job? or the request for more info about the estimate? or something else?). so texted again asking for 30 seconds to give me answer, and mentioned i'd ask on yelp otherwise. whoah boy, then everything went off the rails. tried multiple times after that to end the whole thing relatively amicably (tho, in my frustration, i was a little snarky/self-righteous) ... no go. attaching images with all texts (except one including my home address and the picture of our oven) for clarity. again, i did not handle myself perfectly, but i think people who are considering this company should know what they are getting into. anyway, no work was done and no money changed hands. going to mark this 3-stars because, even as poor as this interaction was, it doesn't deserve to have their rating tanked, and i bear some responsibility for the interaction going south... but people should know what they are getting into here. and, yeah, this is the first even semi- negative review i've left for any business anywhere. i've tried to be as thorough, honest, and fair with this write-up as possible. the attached text messages provide a complete account of our interaction, minus the initial phone call. edited to add: photo order is scrambled by yelp for some reason... believe correct order is 3-4-2-1 read more

I called this business to obtain an estimate for drywall repair work. They sent someone out within a few days, which was great. I was clear at that time that I only wanted to work with someone who is licensed and insured. I was told at the time that they were. I had asked for a bit more detail in the estimate just to make sure that it reflected exactly what we had verbally agreed to and I thought everything was good to go. I just didn't have the contractor's license number which was not on the letterhead. I just wanted confirmation the licensing and insurance before giving the go-ahead for work to begin, which would have been the next day (tomorrow). Bradley texted me back saying his license was expired but he was insured, which was disappointing to read, but more disappointing was that he implied I was a difficult customer when he realized I would not want him to do the work because he wasn't currently licensed. So my three star review is based on: PROS: for promptly coming to estimate the work, understanding what needed to be done and (after one revision) providing a clear and fair estimate. CONS: the fact that the estimator did not seem to know Bradley's license status as well as mild rudeness from Bradley for citing reason that they would not be doing the work as me being "unhappy with everything" when the ONLY reason I did not want them to do the work was that I was initially led to believe they were currently licensed which they are not. read more

I needed to repair a couple things around the house so I began to call a bunch of different places. I stumbled across Optimal Building Service and I was greeted by such a kind person over the phone and I felt very calm and welcomed. We talked for a little bit and discussed the project. I then sent over some pictures of the damage and he was able to give me an estimate over text. From there we scheduled an appointment for them to come out and fix the damage. Overall my experience with them was top notch they're super reliable and very easy to reach. They are easily the most responsive company that I have contacted. Through every step of the way we were in contact and I could tell this man was really trying to help me. I highly, highly recommend this company!! read more
