As a new patient I went in for a dental exam, and to see about a cleaning. I waited for a little bit as I filled out my paperwork, and did try my best to arrive on time but traffic wouldn't permit. As I walked in, I was greeted by two front desk ladies who looked very happy to be there and one of them greeted me right away. I told them I had an appointment, and had to give them my photo ID, and insurance card along with filling out paperwork. Typical doctor/dentist stuff, yeah? I waited probably 10 mins or less to be taken back to get x-rays done by a dental assistant. After that, I waited maybe 5-10 mins just to see the actual dentist who did a quick exam/look which wasn't very long at all. He stated that I for sure needed a deep cleaning. The dentist went on to explain my insurance which is Molina had to get authorization to do the deep cleaning. I am giving it a 3 star review due to how quick he looked in my mouth, and do understand waiting 2-3 weeks to be seen for a deep cleaning. I did not see a hygienist once at all, which was a bit..weird and concerning? I don't really pay mind to name tags/badges, and none of the dental staff really properly introduced themselves to me at all. I think the dentist was the only person who did. This was a bit of a weird flag for me. I always have had the hygienist look first, and then the dentist second at other practices as a kid/teenager. FINALLY: the dentist did not lecture me about brushing or flossing my teeth once. I will update this review when I go in for a deep cleaning. read more

Dentists are amazing. It's the front office that's disgusting. They never call back with appointment time, they always never answer phone. Not BBB accredited. They need to fire them and replace them. It takes going in the office in order to get appointment. Time to upgrade customer service. I had root canal done and my capped tooth still throbs and hurts to bite on. My filling popped off my broken tooth. And I refuse to get cap there. read more

This was the worst dental experience ever. The owner Dr. D messed my mouth up left roots and infection. He tortued me over 3 visits with no antibiotics or pain relief besides Motrin. Had to go to er where they told me my mouth looked awful and gave me pain pills and antibiotics. When I finally wised up to the situation I ended up having to see an oral surgeon Dr. Doran who was absolutely disgusting buy the way DR. D left my mouth he was so disgusted he billed my 5k dollar surgery to optim dental unfortunately never got paid so I'm stuck paying for it. The hygienist there kept telling me everything that was happening was normal. I would never ever recommend optim dental. read more

I can't even with this place. The dentist refused to give me pain control for an excruciatingly painful condition. On the first visit he claimed some regulatory body told him he couldn't. The second time I called because I just couldn't take the pain, not even asking for pain meds(although wtf isn't that what dentists normally do), and the girl cuts me off saying they got a letter from the pharmacy (?) saying they can't prescribe me narcotics. I happen to know pharmacies don't do that, and would have no reason to. These people are condescending, uncaring, and discriminatory to people who don't have insurance. I went to another dentist and got the treatment I would expect from any dentist. Avoid these people if possible. read more

The entire staff was very friendly! Sheena Moore went above and beyond in making sure we all had follow up appointments and was very professional. Dr. Sree was very polite and patient with my son made him feel comfortable and not afraid to come back!!!!! read more

RUN DON'T WALK !!! This place is a nightmare. Took awful care of my son . He went in for wisdom teeth extraction. He was told several times that he would be put under for the surgery. But he was not ! They tortured and butchered him for over an hour . Then got to the third extraction, and could not complete rhe procedure because the doctor didn't have a scalpel. WHAT !!! who operates like this ! They then sent him home , in tremendous pain , with blood all over his face , and told him to come back next so they could finish . Awful experience ! read more

My experience today was amazing! Staff was super friendly. Assistant Araceli was a doll and held my hand through it all. Dr. was super attentive and got the job done. I arrived scared to get my wisdom tooth pulled. There was no reason to be scared at all. The whole experience was amazing! Thank you! read more

DO NOT go to this place! It looks professional on the outside but this dental group is totally unqaulifed. My daughter went there and had a bad experience with getting a filling done. The numbing meds they used almost made her choke because she couldn't feel herself swallow and the work they did left her with a sensitive tooth. Also my co-worker went there for a simple cleaning and after waiting an hour past her appt. time (because the staff was eating lunch) they took her back there and didn't clean her teeth all the way. She had to go to another dentist to finish the job. Lastly I met a women today who's 11 year granddaughter DIED at OPTIM Dental in Bloomington because she had a reaction after she was given the numbing meds for a root canal. She got the shots and then started to complain that her stomach hurt really bad and she died right there and the facility had no defibrillator and lacked in CPR skills. The autopsy showed epinephrine, Novocain and heart arrhythmia! I always felt this place was not on the up and up but after meeting that woman today who lost her granddaughter there I know for a fact that this place needs to be shut down immediately!! read more

TL:DR - No consideration and no compassion for patients Last week I went in to inquire about upper dentures, the dentist wanted to clean my teeth first. I agreed and he (the dentist) proceeded to clean my teeth with high pressure water... It hurt A LOT... I told him and he disregarded me. ( at that point I should have left... but alas) I made an appointment to have a section of my bone filed and some fillings put in. I am a very frightened patient ... I get to the office 15 min early, then 10 min after my scheduled appointment time the Dr strolls in from lunch. I am then brought into a room to have a seat. The world cup is on all the tv's full blast (so he does not miss a moment)... I am sitting in the chair shaking and crying because I am so afraid (major anxiety attack) 45 min after my appointment time, the dr is still not ready for me. No apology, no update. When I asked one of the receptionists (no nurses) what would happen if I arrived 45 min late... I got the open mouth look (I dunno). Yes, I was told they would ask the Dr how much longer it would be... I know full well if I let him anywhere near me at this point, his revenge would probably be extreme pain for me. !!! dont go here!!! i have been a dental assistant on and off for years. went fir a cleaning and exam. after waiting in chair for 45 minutes, the assistant, not a hygienist, they dont have hygienists, polished my teeth, no cleaning at all!! just polished!!! then dentist told me i needed 3 of my fillings replaced!! which i know is bs because i have been to a dentist every six months for years and not one of them ever said anything about needing to replace any of them. i will not go back there ever again pissed i got charged for a cleaning when no one ever cleaned my teeth!!! so now have to wait 6 mo and go else where to get an actual cleaning!!!one star bc assistant was very pleasant and front desk was very polite. thats it!! read more

Absolutely the worst dental experiences I have ever had. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Had to go here because of an emergency. Had a tooth extracted. This is by no means my first extracted tooth- it's actually my 6th. However, it is the first one I have had problems with. I ended up with a dry socket- all they could do was put some paste on it. When I asked why they were not "packing" it, they said they did not do that because they are just a dentists office. So we called some oral surgeons- they practically laughed at us for believing that. One literally said "that is a basic procedure EVERY dentist should know how to do, and be perfectly capable of doing if they are in business". They had scheduled me for some filling after we had the tooth extracted. I stupidly went back thinking it should be a standard procedure- I was so wrong- The NEW doctor, I had never met, took ten minutes to do 3 filling- ALL MERCURY FILLINGS!! I didn't even realize ANYONE still used that stuff! I was not consulted at all- now I have to find another dentist to redo/remove these filling- which of course has a whole list of possible complications and dangers that go along with that. Again- I've talked to other dentists, and dental assistants who all have said I should have been made aware of what material was being used before hand. Part of his reasoning was that "the rot was so bad I could not have used a different material"- but, like I said, it took ten minutes to do 3 fillings- how bad could it have been?! Another excuse was "it's perfectly legal"!! Quote from actual dentist- Actually they are by no means silver, as actually 50% mercury so should be called "mercury fillings".  The word "silver" does not come from the fact that there is a little bit of silver in the fillings, but rather that they appear silver in color when first placed.  However, later when they have corroded, usually turn black in color.  Thus, more appropriately should be called either "mercury fillings" or "black fillings". To answer your question.....yes, they are still being placed today, but only by a small percentage of dentists in this country.  In my humble opinion their use is so prehistoric and out of date that it should be malpractice for any dentist to still use such an inferior restoration, especially in light of the fact that there are several much superior materials that are readily available to dentists today.  On a another note, I was taught in dental school (decades ago) that the "mercury amalgam" filling was first used in dentistry around the time of the Civil War.  Think of any technique or technology that is still being used almost exactly as it was over 150 years ago!  SHOW LESS Norman Huefner, DDS Only reason I didn't give them 1 star is because the office looks nice, and their receptionists are super nice- read more
