I was going to give a 5 star review last week but decided now, nope, I didn't get what I was told; that my glasses would be ready in 7-10 days. Today has been exactly 2 weeks since they were ordered. I just checked update again and still not completed! It's tough as it is going 7-10 days when you can't see well but now over two weeks later and still not ready! The thing is is this exact same thing happened last year when I got new glasses! Why tell us 7-10 days when in fact it doesn't happen?? Staff are very friendly & helpful. Front desk as you come in is friendly, but then you are called in the back and a young lady sits you down and you look into two machines before you see the doctor. after that, I noticed that some folks who got there after me four to be exact) were called befor me, so I inquired. The yougn girl in the back immediately said, " Well, I can schedule for another day." Which is absurd. She said in with some annoyance. After my experience with the Optic Outlet in Lady Lake. Now I know why their rating is 3.5 out of a 5.0 The visit felt like you were purchasing a used car, with final price being hidden. Wait! It gets worse. One of the lenses fell out. My wife went to have them fixed. She was told the glasses were over four years old, and I would need a full eye exam and must purchase a new pair. Not even close. The glasses were about two months old or less. Update. I went to the same location that my wife went to. I was curious about how I would be treated. Very nice young lady. However, the first thing was to try and get me to take out an insurance policy for the new lens. When we got to the price for one replacement lens, I was quoted about 25% more money than the original glasses cost. I am in my early 70s and have never made a negative review in the past. The beginning measurements had me put off when they did not disinfect the machine with everyone putting their chin and forehead on it. That should have been my first warning to run, The waiting and the crown there was beyond noisy and rude. I looked over their lenses and realized they were cheap ones, not what I'm used to purchasing. I went to optical outlet because I moved here and they took my insurance. Dr. Walton was nice and said my eye sight changed a little. However, I can't say whether my prescription will be good until I get glasses made elsewhere. Not some place I would return. read more

Last year, it cost me $189 for 1 year supply of contacts & an exam. This year, for the same thing, (lens was different, I got multi focal), I was charged $526 !!!! I write this in hopes to help others, who go here. I had the doctors test for script, and then picked out there 2 pair special glasses. When they were ready, and I picked them up, was very expensive because they were progressives. But the worst was, I could not see out of them, at all. I went back and told them, and I guess corporate got a hold of this, and called me to go to another store in a nearby town. There, they ordered 2 new pair of glasses, and when they came in, it was the same problem, I could not see out of them. I went to Walmart, with my script, and got 2 pairs, much cheaper, and I could see now clear as day. In talking to the employee there, I found out that it is the quality of the lense they use, that makes all the difference. Start with bad quality, end with bad quality. I was amazed at the difference with Walmart glasses, compared to this place....I could see perfectly clear. Why don't these places use the better quality lenses to start with, especially when they have a problem? You do really get what you pay for, pay for junk, and they are worthless to you. But even in this case, the glasses were perfect at Walmart, and cheaper! If your glasses are NOT right, why on earth would you want to return them for store credit, because each pair after is going to have the same problem, junk lenses to start with. read more

I would not recommend any service at optical outlets on 200 in Ocala Fl. When Dr Meer was at the location the exams were spot on and so were the glasses. They now have a very inexperienced eye doctor there Dr Nguyen. She's personable but she still has many years of training ahead of her. First exam the measurements were not accurate and so the reading glasses were unusable. Went back got a second exam and again the glasses they remade made me cross eyed. Bottom line Go Somewhere else. I would recommend finding a real eye doctor and have it done accurately. You get what you pay for! read more

Worst experience getting glasses. The exam seemed fine but when it was time to pick out the frames and go over the lenses the representative was rude. I told them I just wanted my prescription and to leave. I was told to have a seat and they would have it written up for me. After waiting a while another representative came over and told me she would help and make sure I was comfortable and happy with the service. I accepted it and continued with the selection of the frames and the options she suggested for the lenses. She went over the progressive lenses and made them sound great that I ultimately selected at an additional cost of $500. Needless to say when I picked up the glasses I couldn't use the progressive lenses and was told they would get easier to use over time. That NEVER happened and it's been close to a year having them... I had a friend actually try them not too long ago and she said they were useless. Additionally, the lenses in my regular glasses, purchased 2 additional pairs, scratch easy so I already need new pairs because of the scratches. I would NEVER use them again... read more

I went in store to order my glasses and they were very busy during the afternoon. I took a card and made an appointment for the next opening. Went to my appointment and the people inside the store were very polite and seemed to be interested in helping me. After i received my EOB from my insurance the paperwork did not match and called the store. After this is when they were rude on the phone, admitted they did not know what a EOB was and did not acknowledge receiving $399.00 from and insurance. They did not have a clue. Office people said that is the way it was. I find it extremely difficult to work with employees who dont acknowledge insurance payments and then take the attitude of not working with the client and just repeating the same thing over and over. If the customer didnt understand it the first 3 times why keep repeating it over and over then cope an attitude. I will not be back and advise people to go over the Eyeglass World and get way better service and better attitudes. read more

My glass cracked at hinge within the first year. Apparently glasses from this company are not warranted. I have been wearing glasses for 60 years. This is the first time a pair of glasses are not warranted within the first year. To replace the lens my glasses have to be sent away for up to three weeks and the replacement cost is discounted to $94.00 read more

The optometrist are very good, however the staff at the front desk could use some better Customer Service skills. Also, the opticians tend to make the lenses of the eyeglasses a little too small and they always seem to fall out of the frames read more

just came in to replace smeared Lens on my recently purchased Glasses this place is the worst. parking is so stressful and when you get in you sit for Hours. they notified me my Glasses were ready for pickup they just had a Mirror to see how they look,I put them on and yes they were the Frames I gave them to replace the Lens so I went home with them then tried to read the Mail and I could not see,called them and girl told me oh they gave you distance Lenses and you only get close up reading Glasses so come back,leave Glasses again then come back to get the correct onesmy husband is 82 and we had a big fight because of the stress of going back to this terrible place again. worst place and after I get what I paid for we will never go back there again. Glasses never right. Complained told to contact manager but they were never available. Left message asking for return call and 6 mo later still no response. Dr ignored my request for nobdilation of eyes and staff was very cold. Spend over $240 for glass that continue be difficult to wear. Buyer beware. Cheaper is not necessarily better. I should have known better than to get the 2nd pair of glasses at Optical Outlet, but I was promised I would be happy with them. Well, I'm not. Even though the 2nd pair is an Optical Outlet step up in quality, these are not glasses I want to wear for any length of time. I actually see better without them. They are blurry around the edges and frustrating so I take them off and then they sit there on the shelf. I don't plan to buy any more glasses from Opitcal Outlet. I even took pre-Optical Outlet glasses to them to show them the clarity I wanted and was promised I'd be so happy with the 2nd pair. Optical Outlet glasses don't come anywhere near the vision quality may old glasses had. They'll promise you anything to get you to buy. read more

This is the WORST! I ordered contacts in NOV and it's Jan and I never got them... they don't call to give you a status I had to call and they didn't even know where the contacts were. They are rude especially the assistant manager Paige, she was zero help. This is the 2nd time having this same problem with them. I'll never go again and I advise you go anywhere but here. read more

I had an appointment for 11:15 for an eye exam and, if needed, to purchase new glasses and sunglasses. I didn't get out of there until 2:15! The doctor was great, but the tech was rude when I asked how much longer it was going to take. My insurance covered the exam and $200 for one pair. When picked out the cheaper frame and was quoted a price it was $200 over what my insurance would cover! Then I asked how much for sunglasses using my same frame and she said $450! These were both lined bifocals. I decided to purchase from Walmart where they were much more organized, courteous, better parking and cheaper by $300! read more

I have experienced two very frustrating visits to this business. First time got the eye exam then was told to go wait in the other room and they would call me to be waited on to get glasses. Got fed up with waiting for 45 minutes and saw people come and go who came in much later than I did. For reasons I won't go into, I had to eventually go back and oh this time I had to wait an hour and was just getting up to leave once again when my name was called. The salesperson spent maybe a total of 5 minutes with me, asking what I needed and I told him to check the prescription. He had me look thru some kind of instrument and said your insurance will completely cover the cost and it will be a week or two. I've used Optical Outlets for about 4 years now. I am very disappointed in the service this year very much. My glasses came in over a week ago and wrong scripts. I was told they would be in this past Tuesday and it's now Friday. I was told now the middle of next week. Thursday will be 6 weeks I've been waiting. I paid all most 340.00 out of my pocket over what my insurance paid all total 600.00 dollars. I'm on disability and this is now a joke. When I do finally get my glasses it will be the last time I will be using Optical Outlets. Next year I will be finding me a new doctor. All totally it will be 6 weeks and that's if I'm lucky and get them next week and if the script is correct this time. Worst glasses I have ever had! I paid extra money for the upgrades of progressive lenses as well as their version of Crizal protective coating, and these are both a joke! I cannot see out of them except to read, and I do not spend my day reading so... the progressive site lines are horrible, they smudge terribly and there is absolutely NO cutback on glare. I tried to return them and instead of giving me my money back because " they already made the lens especially for me" they had me take a 2nd eye exam and replaced the lenses ( because that's cheaper?!?) and I still cannot see. I have been going to Optical Outlets in Ocala for 5 or 6 years. They have always done a good job taking care of me. This year they have exceeded my expectations resolving my eyesight issues. I had my eyes checked in February and ordered my glasses. When my glasses were delivered I was disappointed that I was seeing okay, but I thought that maybe the glasses need to be adjusted. The staff were so helpful and did adjustments which did not help. Recommended that I come in to see the doctor again and get another vision check. When I came in for my vision recheck. The doctor asked me to read a line. Well I was not able to read even the top line. Come to find out my cataract in one eye had gotten a lot worse in just 3 months. The doctor was able to write a new prescription that improved my vision so much I can actually read very well. Mary helped my pick out a different frame and made sure the lenses were correct with my new prescription. I received a text that my glasses were in at the store. Mary delivered the glasses with the new prescription made sure the fit was good and I could see better. The entire staff has exceeded my expectations in the resolution of my vision issue. I will never go to Optical Express again! I ordered lenses for sunglasses. After a week and a half I called to see if they were in and they were. They were suppose to call me when received. They are progressive lenses and after 2 weeks of trying to adjust to them I was getting head aches and nauseous. I went back and 2 clerks and an hour and a half later and bending the frames and measuring they did notice a distortion. But, I had to go back the next day to see a manager in order to have them sent back for correction. So, I went back and after she kept trying to adjust the frame she said she would check with her boss to get permission to send them back. She got the ok. I called a week and a half later to find that they weren't sent out because she was trying to check with the my previous eye doctor to see what kind of lenses they used! That doctor was less than a mile away. She just forgot about them and should have told me that. I'm getting my money back and going elsewhere. I had stressed that I had extremely dry eyes and needed asap if possible. Guess that didn't matter! read more
