Professional service, it was quick and easy to get in for an eye exam and i had my glasses quickly. I was especially impressed with the woman who did my eye exam... I had been having a difficult time seeing while driving at night. She did my eye exam and said your vision is 20/20 you don't 'need' glasses. She then provided some options about a correction to help make night driving easier by providing a slight 'over correction' (my words). The man did my measurements and took care of the rest. A piece broke off of my glasses and I cannot do without them. I called optical illusions and asked if I could come right in and if they could not be fixed, would somebody be able to help me choose a new frame and put the lenses in right away. I was assured that they would do just that. I got there and a lovely gentleman fixed them and refused to let me pay. I am definitely going back when I find my spare pair to have the lenses updated. I've been going to Optical Illusions for years now and it is always a pleasure going to the eye doctor. The owner, Jeff is very personable, accommodating, kind, and efficient. Booking appointments is never a hassle, Jeff is always able to work with your schedule; they have weekend hours and some late nights. All the optometrists are excellent, they walk you through the process step by step and explain what they're doing and why; I like that some doctors don't explain anything. The eyewear selection is large. Optical Illusions offers a wide range of designer brands like Gucci, Prada, Giorgio Armani, Ray Ban, Bvlgari, Versace, etc.. as well as your run of the mill insurance covered glasses. I was hesitant to come here because I'm use to going to Pearle Vision on Atlantic, but I was near by and thought, what can I lose? I thought they wouldn't have a large selection of glasses, but they did :) . The man who greeted and helped me out was VERY nice and friendly and interested in the type of frames I wanted. I also met with the doctor to get fitted for contact lenses. He got straight to the point with checking my eyes out, fitting them, and teaching me how to put contacts in. This place is very fast with their clients, as in getting their glasses done and appointments. They told me I could have my new glasses done in 24 hours, and I left them with a pair of contacts in my eyes, which I am still wearing :) . I will be coming back here. I recommend this place to anyone. They have great fast service with a friendly associate. They also have great prices on their frames. Much lower than Pearle Vision had, and probably Lens Crafters. read more

Awesome experience! I "happened in" on Valentines Day, and was graciously received immediately upon arrival by Jeff. I got a thorough eye exam by the nicest doctor, and then Jeff helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses. I received my new glasses in just a few short days, and they fit perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised by this little boutique store on Crossbay Blvd! This is my new "go-to" for prescription glasses and sunglasses. I ordered contacts in January of this year yes January we are now in april and I have yet to get my contacts. At this rate either my vision will change or my new benefits will kick in faster than me getting my contacts from this place. The staff was amazing and cost was cheap but getting my order sucks. Lets se how long they will take since I just called again for the 8th time and the answer I got was they are ordered just backordered sorry for the delay. I arrived about 15 minutes early and I was seen by a female eye doctor. She called me in saying nothing but pointing to the examining chair. She began to examine my eyes with out any sort of greeting of explanation of what she was doing. She then told me to remove my contacts and I did. She asked me how I wore my contact and how often did I change them. I told her that I removed them and cleaned every night but I often wore them longer than recommended. She said, "You are just stupid!" and she repeated that phrase several times during the visit. She said in a threating manner, "Well I'll just have to change your contacts since you don't know how to wear them properly!" I replied that I would try to do better and change them at the proper intervals. She responded, "People like you don't ever do better! She left the exam room several times to attend to a child she was babysitting during my visit. She never explained the condition of my eyes, results of the tests she preformed, or the type of contacts she was recommending or prescribing. She just suddenly dismissed me saying, "OK." The owner, Jeff, told me that he had to order sample contacts for me to try and rushed me out saying he was too busy for my questions. Later that afternoon, I called back, to tell him what had happened. He said he was too busy to listen now and he would call me back tomorrow. He called back the following day and said he had never had any problems with her before (Does that mean he thinks I'm the problem?) He said for me to pick up my samples in a week and I would not have to see the Doctor. I asked him wouldn't the doctor need to see the fitting of my contacts while I was wearing them? He said I would have to schedule another appointment for that. I picked up the contacts noticing they were a different brand so I asked him if my prescription had changed. He said sarcastically, no, they are "just new!" Again he rushed me away without any explanation of my prescription. Then he stopped me at the door, complaining angrily about the company I work for (I pay for Insurance through my job.) Instead of my eye care question about my contacts, He was mad that an aircraft that took him form New York to West Palm Beach, Florida did not provide a place for him to charge his phone. I went home and tried on the new contacts. They irritated both eyes! The right side was blurry and never seemed to seat properly. My right eye blinked excessively. I tried them for a day, took them out, allowed my eyes to rest overnight and tried them on again the next day, but they did not improve. I called the owner again and explained my problems with the contacts. He said, "I'll order the new prescription in your last contact brand. I described to him again about how my right vision was blurry and suggested that it may be a good Idea if the eye doctor took a look at my eyes again. He snapped, "What I/m trying to do in determine over the phone if your problem is the contacts or your prescription!" Then he snapped again saying, "You're have to make another appointment!" At this point, I do not feel that my eyes are receiving the proper care. I believe the staff of Optical Illusions are both unprofessional and too uncaring to provide my eye care. read more

The highlight of this establishment is Jeff. He is undeniably polite and his customer service is unmatched and will do everything possible to accommodate you. Even though I failed to follow doctor's instructions for my follow up appointment he did everything to make sure it happened. During checkout he presented all the possible options for discounts etc and gave me a realistic timeline on when my order would be ready. As someone who also works in customer service, I would love to have him on my team. I give 4/5 because I was not fond of the doctor interaction on follow up. There was no introduction and explanation of the process and diagnostic tests he performed. He did not explain the drops he put in my eyes and any expected accompanying sensations. He just said "everything is good," and as a healthcare professional myself, I know it is never just "good." Jeff keep up your great work! read more

I have been using optical illusions for many many years... there was a time when I stopped using optical illusions because I worked in the New York City and it was just easier for me to take care of my eyes in the city. Even though I was happy with the place in the city I do realize that it was a mistake to leave optical illusions and to leave Jeff who is the owner of optical illusion and he is the best ....he's a true professional. I am very happy to be back with Jeff and I think he is very happy to have me back as well. I would recommend anyone and everyone who lives in Howard Beach to use optical illusions. read more
