I called Opted Motors on a Friday at 12:30pm to make an appointment to see a car in their inventory....Someone answered and we discussed the car I wanted to look at and we made an appointment for 48 hours later, noon on Sunday. I drove 45 minutes and 45 miles from Oakland and arrived at 12:15pm on Sunday. Walked up to their suite number and the door was locked. Knocked twice and nothing. Called their phone number and left a voicemail for Mike, telling him I was there for the appointment. They never showed up or called back. Unprofessional and disrespectful. Found a car I was interested in on the internet & reached out to them on the phone. When we arrived at the lot we were greeted by Emmanuel who had a great smile, he treated us with kindness & respect. He tracked down the car & we were on our way on a test drive very quickly. That car wasn't the one but he had two others for us to look at. We ended up really liking one of those. Then we requested the car be seen by our mechanic & we were very surprised when Emmanuel & Mike offered to drive it out to Livermore for us on the way to an auto auction. After our mechanic evaluated the car Opted Motors worked on the price of the car to accommodate some of the minor repairs it was going to need. I road back with them to Santa Clara, we did the paperwork in just under an hour, & I was on my way home with the car. Above & beyond....is what happened the next day. I noticed there was no owners manual. Mike (come to find he was the "hands on owner") found one for me and mailed it to my house within a few days. I though that was awesome! I would (cautiously) recommend. two things the dealership needs: a strong Operations Manager and a strong Office Manager. Purchased a 2015 BMW 328i with 117K miles Worked with Amanuel and Tony during the entire process. Overall they are good guys trying to make their start up dealership a success but they definitely have some customer service and operations management issues to address first. Headlamps gave an error message on the dash and the driver's side sun visor was broken. there was a weird sound with the tires when I test drove it. I told Amanuel about all of the above. He said that they'd fix the sunvisor and headlamps for me and will get the tires checked out (which had pretty good thread). The day I test drove the car I asked would they be able to deliver from their lot (my house is about 12 miles away). He said yes. The weekend goes by and Amanuel called and said that everything was fixed except the sun visor since they have to order the part. He said his mechanic said there's no issues with the tires and they even put it on a lift to check it out. I said okay. So I go back to the dealership on a Monday to sign everything after my loan was approved with my credit union. We arranged for my sun visor to get fixed on that Friday but they would deliver my car the next day on a Tuesday and I'd just come back to the dealership Friday to have the visor fixed. Amanuel and I agreed that Tuesday at 5pm would work to drop off my car. Amanuel said he would call beforehand if they would be a little late. THIS IS WHERE EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL AND THEY LOST MY TRUST. I didn't get a call until close to 5:30. Amanuel said they can't come. He thought Tony would trail him in another car and then drop mine off and he ride back with Tony. I was puzzled, you had a whole weekend and a couple business days to figure that out. Okay. So we arranged for my car to be delivered no later than 8am on Wed since I needed to go to work. 7:45am rolls around no call or text. So I text Amanuel and let him know I'm down in the lobby. No response. 8am I called. It rang and went to voicemail. Couldn't leave a voicemail b/c the inbox was full. I text again. Nothing. By this time it's a little after 9. So I decide to work from home and catch an Uber to the dealership. Get to the dealership only 1 guy is there I've never met. Let him know I'm there to pick up my car. He called Tony. Tony says he's going to bring the car. The guy says the car is now downstairs. Go down there thinking Tony is there. No sight. He dropped it off and left the key in the car. He knew him and Amanuel were wrong. I get in the car, the gas light is on E (which they were supposed to fill it up). The registration isn't on the windshield. There also wasn't a spare key as they promised. We get all that taken care of. So I go home and read my contract. I realized the warranty I was sold wouldn't go into effect until 30+ days and a certain mileage. Amanuel didn't give me the option on that. So he had to fix that. I go to BMW to get the car checked out (which I should have done before I signed everything so I learned my lesson on that). BMW says everything is good, the tires do not meet BMW standards and slightly doesn't meet DOT CA standards. They said the coolant needs to be flushed. So I go the dealership and asked to replace the tires and coolant. They said no to the tires and they would flush the coolant. I talked to the owner and the owner said he'll do the tires and coolant. I had to wait at the mall while they took care of everything. I go back to their mechanic at night in the cold. Still not finished. He also didn't do the oil change as I had confirmed with Amanuel. By that time I was so tired, hungry, and fed up, I said forget it, I'll take care of the oil. Now, my spare key. When I picked up the car Tony told me to give him two weeks because he thinks the spare is somewhere in the office and might can find it. Almost two weeks go by, nothing. So I never sent them their check. Amanuel asked me about it and I said I'm waiting on my spare key before I release the check. That's when they started moving. He ordered a spare from Amazon (so he says). I'm out of town so I said okay, I can pick it up Wed when I'm back. He never called to confirm the appointment time. So I called that Tuesday. He said oh, we had to order the key from BMW it'll be here Tues. I thought they already had the key?? He explained the Amazon key was aftermarket and they chose to buy it from BMW instead. So I go to pick up my key. They only ordered the FOB! So the key that fits into the fob has to be ordered which they did not want to order it. The car still works with the fob so cool. At that point, I said okay forget it. Just give me the fob. It've driven the car from San Jose to Santa Cruz and to LA and back. So far so good. No issues at all. They have good cars, just beware of the poor customer service. If you can handle that, you'll get a pretty good car read more

We bought a 2008 Prius off Mike. Good, honest dealer. It was a pleasure doing business with him. The car was in great condition and clean. It runs great and we got an amazing deal. Price was non negotiable, but it was already well under market value according to cargurus so no biggie. Low mileage and only one owner. Car fax was available. Gave us 2 day warranty to return the car if we didn't like it. Definitely not the kind of dealership where the car breaks down as you're driving home. We looked at the car in the evening and test drove it, then came back the next morning to buy. All the paperwork went smoothly. Everything was handled in his office, no need to go to the DMV. I was treated with the upmost respect and although I have realized that customer service has been dead in many places, it had not at this company.
