Generally poor experience. Dr. Was obviously in a hurry. My visit was 20 mins late. Dr. Asked what my pain and symptoms were. Tested range of motion and offered a steroid injection. He said that I had rotator cuff tendonitis. I was still asking him questions he was walking away and out the door. That is fucked up. Total time of visit 6 minutes. I have used Dr. Opplinger for a number of years. He did an ACL replacement for my then teenaged daughter. We loved him and recommended him to many of her friends who also are very satisfied. He replaced a hip for me a year ago and will do my second hip soon. I have found him attentive, caring and conservative about surgery and treatment (i.e. he does not recommend surgery or treatment if it is not needed just to earn a buck, which is very important in a surgeon!) My incision healed well and quickly. He recommended all the physical therapy I needed, my pain management was good and I recovered well. He is on time for appointments. His office has always been competent. He is gentile and does a good job with cortisone injections. He is also good with smaller things. I had a badly infected finger and my PCP referred me to him. He saw me immediately and put me on IV antibiotics within the hour. read more

I had carpal tunnel surgery done by Michael J. Oplinger, M.D. of OIP. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor that cares about your health (espeically if you have a lot of disabilities). I was up front with Oplinger and told him of the many disabilities I had especially my psoriasis and he said he could deal with that. After the surgery, I had severe pain and was left for a week and a half in pain. I was given some very WEAK pain medicine that did nothing. Later on I ended up with an infection near my right thumb which I made an appointment to see his physician assistant. Oh, yes, she gave me antibiotic and ibupfronen which did nothing for my pain. Finally, I had the stitches removed two days before my appointment but from Friday to Sunday the infection was twice the size and in full bloom. The physician asst. refused to take the stitches out so the medicine she gave me to reduce the swelling would NOT go down until the stitches were removed. I was inconvenced by this establishment, had to miss church and be rushed to urgent care and finally another physician asst of that establishment asked me why the other PA did not remove them. As soon as he removed it pus came out and of course, the intelligent thing would have been was to do culture but they did not even do that!! It did not matter how much pain I was in this dr. would not give me pain medicine to relieve the pain. Instead I receive a script for tyneol. The tyneol I had here at the house was stronger than what he gave me. Also, medical forms that I filled out (found out today) the were revised to their convenience if they did not like what you said on the forms that belong in a patient's chart were shredded! Go to someone else!! I have spoken to other people and OIP does NOT have very good reviews. This dr. seems to classify everyone in the same category which I told him I do not tolerate pain very well and needed something stronger than he gave. It did not matter what I said culture.....NO, physical therapy NO, stronger pain medicine so I could get some sleep.....NO. This dr. thinks he is GOD and knows everything. Here to tell him he does not and the job has already been taken!!! He needs to listen to his patients which evidentially he does not. This dr. made me feel like I was some dope addict. He may not have said it in words but he sure implied!! Check OIP and his reviews out first before going to him or allowing him to cut on you. He only has around 16 years of experience which is not a lot. Although, he knows everything so why bother telling him!!! Run, run, run!!! read more
