Eudora Animal Hospital - His whole back end was crushed and no doubt he would have to be put down

I had to change vets because mine retired. It took a long time and research to find a new vet. One…read moreof my friends suggested Eudora Animal Clinic. One reason I picked this vet is because they are one of the few vets in town to administer the ProHeart shot for heart worm prevention. That was very important to me. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They get to know you on a first name basis very easily. They answer the phone and there are no automated answering systems. They are helpful and caring. The vets and vet techs are smart and helpful. They have never tried to oversell me products. I have two dogs so we have a tight budget. There is no pressure and no hard sales. I trust their advice and medical care. The prices are not the most inexpensive but they line up with other vets in town. They seem to be moderate in price compared to others. There are always discounts and rebates on medicine. I use the Care Credit Card so the staff always makes sure I get the best rate. Eudora Animal Hospital is primarily a large animal hospital. There are cattle and horse pens on the side. However, I have seen all sorts of animals there. Cats, dogs of all sizes are treated there. My dogs are happy with their care and I am happy with the staff and treatment. Highly recommended.

I had previously had a horrible experience with a…read morevet (unfriendly service, inexperienced treatment of my cats, and two surgeries that both resulted in awful complications) and was wary of what sort of service I would receive, but I was blown away by the helpfulness and kindness of the people working at Clinton Parkway. It was clear in the way they handled my cats that everyone there loves animals and is devoted to ensuring their health and well-being. One of the cats I brought in was a little overweight for his shape, and I completely expected to be admonished for not keeping him as slim as he should be. However, the vet was nothing but kind---she gently informed me that he was slightly overweight and that I would be advised to change up his diet. Clearly, their goal is nothing but happiness for the pets that come in and out, and I was awed by them. It's also worth noting that most vets I've been to are pretty sterile, uncomfortable places, but Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital is a fun, colorful environment. There are even some "office cats" that roam around that make the experience truly enjoyable!

It was short tho & Kinley came to take us to the room which was large, clean & well equipped. We began discussing Gracie's arthritis & I looked over to see the vet on the floor engaging with my dog! Dr. Holstrom was so kind & extremely thorough with Gracie's exam. I had questions about some lumps & how to treat them. She gave me several options & explained them thoroughly. We reviewed all of Gracie's health matters. Head to toe. The Dr. & Kinley really made me feel like they cared about Gracie & her well being. They were so great with my dog, but also fantastic with me, too. It was so nice to talk with them. This was my first visit to Pleasant Valley & they've got it ALL right. Lovely, clean, well maintained building & exam rooms; warm, friendly receptionists; short wait times; knowledgeable Dr. who is as good with people as she is with animals; technology (a very useful & easy to use app); & all these people are loving on my dog every step of the way. This is our retirement home so we are customers forever! I have already recommended Pleasant Valley to family and friends!

We have three dogs in our family, two of whom have some kind of crazy skin Allergy (with…read moreinflammation) in their paws and on lower legs. We brought these two dogs to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and we were so extremely impressed and wonderfully treated. Regrettably, one of our dogs is in fairly serious condition and the vet there recommended that we take him to a specialty veterinarian clinic that has an internist type physician for dogs to address his significant problems. What impressed my wife and me most was the fact that this particular veterinarian was MUCH more concerned about the well-being of our dog, rather than making money for herself, which we would have gladly paid her for many repeated visits for her to identify and treat our dog's significant health issues. But instead of making money, she was MUCH more concerned about the health of our dog, and she referred us to two viable animal clinics that have the type of internist that can properly address our dog's needs. So, the bottom line here is, if you want a veterinarian that is more concerned about the health and well being of your animal, rather thanher profit margins, I recommend that you take your animals to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and have a Veterinarian with incredible knowledge and integrity there take care of your pets. Truly impressive, truly inspiring, we couldn't be more grateful.

The veterinarians at Wakarusa Veterinary Hospital demonstrate competence in their practice, but…read moreslightly taken aback by the perception of them being money-hungry due to the seemingly exorbitant fees per service, I question the necessity of an upfront $60 per dog "exam" fee that may not always result in a thorough assessment, especially when additional charges are incurred for addressing the initial/exam reason for the visit. Why do I have to argue with them EVERY visit about taking my dog(s) back into another back room without me, to do simple things like a blood draw or nail trim? We are already in a private room, what is it that you are doing that you don't want me to see... this policy I find intolerable. One of my dogs is mortified without me in the room. When I brought my dogs in for their annual heartworm tests, they tried to sell me multiple packages of Heartgard seemed unnecessary since I already had some at home, and I wasn't sure I wanted to purchase from them. I added the heartguard to an existing retailer online order I already had going, and was confused when the retailer said my vet would not approve it? Wakarusa called and said You know you can buy that from us, I said I already had an existing order that I am adding it to from an online retailer. They told me they would not approve it since I am not buying it from them unless I pay them an additional $10! After I have spent thousands there! This experience left me feeling exploited, especially after consistent patronage. They must make a lot of money from Heartguard or get some kind of kickback. I like to have a choice as to where I purchase from without paying a ransom. It feels a bit like a used car sales experience.
