Expanded hours to try to continue to see as many patients as possible during this time. Pet moms and dads aren't allowed into the building (haven't been for months). You call when you arrive, parking spots are numbered. They come to the car to get your pet. The system could work better, but it's not bad all things considered. I really dislike not being able to be present for an exam/treatment or to be able to talk to the vet face to face. Otherwise, still great as usual.

OK, when I first moved to Lawrence two years ago I had a cat. I also was full-time caregiver for my mom so I never got to take my cat to any veterinary help here for the last two years. When my cat passed away recently and I was seeking a new pet but didn't really know how to go about it. I was given my new for baby brownie as a gift. I was looking for a veterinary clinic to take him to and it was kind a hard to choose because there are so many veterinary clinics in this Town. I think Lawrence has more veterinary clinics than I've ever seen in quite a long time so after searching for a little bit I decided to go with This place. The The location of this veterinary clinic is really tucked away and if you don't know the area you will pass by it. I think they could've chosen a better building so that it would be easily noticed and accessible. The clinic looks small from the outside and unfortunately due to Covid I haven't been given the opportunity to see what the inside looks like. Their Covid policy I don't really care for, although I understand it. Their policy is that when you have an appointment with your pet, you are to pull up, park and the nurse comes out, takes your pet inside and does whatever procedure you ask, then the nurse brings the pet back out to the car with a total of what they've done. Prior to the nurse bringing your pet out, you do receive a call from the vet to kind of give you an idea of what they did and what is the next step. Now for some pet owners who have had their pets for a long time and may have felt comfortable letting their pet go in because they've dealt with these people before, they may have been ok with thatf but someone like me, who just got my pet and having to hand him over to a stranger and not even escort him inside for his first veterinary appointment was a little strange. I didn't like it, as I've stated before I do understand why it's like that I just didn't like it. But fortunately for brownie, the visit went well, the veterinarian name Dr. Roland spoke with me and told me everything that she had done and what to expect in the in the coming months. So far I am pleased with the services I received the pricing was affordable and they seem to all take a liking to brownie ,and that meant more to me than anything. I truly based my return on how he was receptive to them. the fact that he was very playful and receptive I will definitely be bringing brownie back for his future appointments. They really made brownie feel at home.

They are always so happy and excited to see my dogs when they all come in !! And are always eager to help and answer any questions brought their way ! Penni, ivy and tori love you Wakarusa veterinary hospital. !!

It was clear in the way they handled my cats that everyone there loves animals and is devoted to ensuring their health and well-being. One of the cats I brought in was a little overweight for his shape, and I completely expected to be admonished for not keeping him as slim as he should be. However, the vet was nothing but kind---she gently informed me that he was slightly overweight and that I would be advised to change up his diet. Clearly, their goal is nothing but happiness for the pets that come in and out, and I was awed by them. It's also worth noting that most vets I've been to are pretty sterile, uncomfortable places, but Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital is a fun, colorful environment. There are even some "office cats" that roam around that make the experience truly enjoyable!

It's hard to trust your baby to just any vet. I came here after thoroughly researching veterinarians in Lawrence. Jarrett consistently scored high on all the reviews I read. I just knew this was the right place to be. This is not a large, spacious clinic with a fancy light-filled waiting area. No, this is a small clinic filled with a cat tree, plants and a few chairs. I have not been inside the lobby area because since COVID everything is car side. I can peak through the windows for a glimpse inside the clinic. It is located inside a forgotten strip mall and there is plenty of space for parking. All the vets I have met... Dr. Kissinger and Dr. Cason have been so nice and personable. They genuinely seem to care for your baby. They are never in a hurry and they explain things in common language. They are friendly, professional and human. Both vets have a deep love for what they do and for animals. You can just sense it. The techs are also very friendly and knowledgeable. They are also patient because I have a million questions and I have never received the eye-roll or the shrug from them. If they do not have an answer, they find one and call you. They have been excellent at communicating with me by phone and email. The prices on services and products seem to be competitive and reasonable. I have never once received sticker shock from anything they have done. They have always been transparent as to cost and have given me estimates on prices, too. Highly recommend this clinic. It is small but filled with caring, kind people.

The woman who took care of our pup was less than personable, the tone almost condescending through the phone and during the appointment although that wasn't the issue as I understand that some people are just like that whether they are at work or in their personal life. One of the first things this woman blurted out to 2 young kids in their 20's was "I can see some buildup on her teeth so she'll need a cleaning. That runs around $600 for anesthesia" and a list of other things in a teeth cleaning I cannot remember at this time. My dog is only three years old it's not like she's old with a huge amount of tartar buildup. There was no "I recommend this chew" or "try brushing with this toothpaste" and this was on top of the $300 some bill for her shots and other extra things that she was recommending that day. My pup requires care and i understand that will cost money but to hit us with a total of $900 in expenses in the first 5-10 minutes of our appointment left a bad taste in our mouth. I'm reading other reviews that sound like I am not the first person to feel as if they are just trying to get as much money as they can out of their patients. I canceled my next scheduled appointment and will be going elsewhere from now on.

Dr. Holstrom was so kind & extremely thorough with Gracie's exam. I had questions about some lumps & how to treat them. She gave me several options & explained them thoroughly. We reviewed all of Gracie's health matters. Head to toe. The Dr. & Kinley really made me feel like they cared about Gracie & her well being. They were so great with my dog, but also fantastic with me, too. It was so nice to talk with them. This was my first visit to Pleasant Valley & they've got it ALL right. Lovely, clean, well maintained building & exam rooms; warm, friendly receptionists; short wait times; knowledgeable Dr. who is as good with people as she is with animals; technology (a very useful & easy to use app); & all these people are loving on my dog every step of the way. We brought these two dogs to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and we were so extremely impressed and wonderfully treated. Regrettably, one of our dogs is in fairly serious condition and the vet there recommended that we take him to a specialty veterinarian clinic that has an internist type physician for dogs to address his significant problems. What impressed my wife and me most was the fact that this particular veterinarian was MUCH more concerned about the well-being of our dog, rather than making money for herself, which we would have gladly paid her for many repeated visits for her to identify and treat our dog's significant health issues. But instead of making money, she was MUCH more concerned about the health of our dog, and she referred us to two viable animal clinics that have the type of internist that can properly address our dog's needs. So, the bottom line here is, if you want a veterinarian that is more concerned about the health and well being of your animal, rather thanher profit margins, I recommend that you take your animals to the Pleasant Valley veterinarian clinic in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and have a Veterinarian with incredible knowledge and integrity there take care of your pets. Truly impressive, truly inspiring, we couldn't be more grateful.

The vets and vet techs are smart and helpful. They have never tried to oversell me products. I have two dogs so we have a tight budget. There is no pressure and no hard sales.
