The volunteers, running the center, are passionate about what they do while being frustrated at not being able to do more within our community. Redemptorist offers help w/ food and clothing, providing an impressive selection of clothes, shoes and house wares, which they make available to all in need. They are one of the only food banks in the city offering fresh fruits and vegetables, in addition to the standard canned variety. They also offer assistance w/ utility bills, rent and medical expenses to those who meet the requirements. One of the most amazing aspects of this community organization is they don't simply offer a hand out but rather work to offer a hand up. I look forward to continuing my work w/ Diana Kennedy and the dedicated staff at Redemptorist for years to come.

They allowed me to shift the days he's watched when they are closed for the day (for holidays and such). They provide daily reports on his eating, what he did and his mood. It provides insight for his mother and I to know how long his nap was that day, how much did he eat, etc. Kim and crew do wonderful. My son enjoys going there and has grown socially as a result. If pressed for a con of this place, I would say the food they eat isn't the best. They do follow state recommended standards but it does tend to be sugary and not the best stuff for kids. For 1 meal a day, I'm not that concerned. It's much more important to me to know that they care for their kids and take good care of them. And here they do just that.

We love all of the teachers who have all been there for so many years and clearly love what they do. Our oldest have transitioned to the after school program - it is so great having the OM bus pick them up from Westwood View and take them to Old Mission every day after school! They have done an amazing job staying open during Covid - they completely changed pickup/drop off and recess/lunch schedules to limit interaction outside of individual classes. Of course, this has also limited some of the things that have made Old Mission so special in the past, like the school programs and family events, but we take comfort in knowing that that will be only a temporary miss! We love Old Mission!
