My son has been attending Sandoval a few years now. Sandoval is a little strange. The classes are grouped so for example 1,2 and 3rd graders are all lumped together for 3 years. I did question this method, but the bright side is that it creates some stability in class mates and teachers. It's half Spanish speaking which I feel is a mixed blessing as well. My son is learning two languages but I am afraid he may end up a "jack of all trades master of none" but the verdict is still out. The school is kind of hard to get into, so I think the parents and kids seem to take learning a little more seriously at this school.

The obvious being accelerated academic program(s), stellar Principal and teachers, and attention to each child's needs via a tremendously effective magnet program within the schools regular program...amongst other things. Cory stands head and shoulders above many (most) of the DPS elementary schools in the state. Outside of the reasons stated above, the PTA at Cory goes above and beyond. They are aware of, and embrace, new families - open to participation and suggestions for events, and parent involvement. The teachers are aware of the varying levels of academic prowess for children ages 5-10 and utilize this as a teaching tool, not as a hindrance for the above and below average student. The "average" student is not a role model for the outstanding students. Nor are the esl students needs placed above any other needs in any given classroom. Each child is taught at their level consistently. A safe community where each child is respected and embraced for what they bring to the environment - what a concept~

At the time of writing this, my son has been at Park Hill Elementary for going on three months, and I cannot say enough good things about the staff, the administrators, and the school in general. There are a ton of kids that attend PHE, but they manage the chaos well. The parents are encouraged to participate, and communication has been exemplary. The only downside is that there is no A/C in the building yet, but that is in the works. Also, those little buggers keep spreading colds around and bringing them home. Other than that, great stuff!

I like that. It's hard to buy clothes when you can't try things on. The associate was not as attentive - I stood waiting to be rung up and was ignored. Then mumbling so I couldn't hear him. Goodwill associates are perkier. It's not that convenient a location so I'm not sure I'll frequent this place. But it helped while away my time. Parking lot striping is hard to see so you park as best you can. Private lot.

I however had my fair of triumph and failure at Arvada West, and can still say that it was a great place to attend school. I felt that Arvada West really worked well on all fronts. Excluding minorities, it had people of all economic backgrounds, so no one was alienated based on their economic status. They worked well with kids ahead of and behind the curve. They stayed focused yet still offered a way to enjoy. I no longer know the administration, but I can honestly say if they are as committed to excellence now as they were then, it is a great place to send students. Sports teams are both fun and competitive, great Choir program, great student body.

Shelton Elementary

The staff is extremely friendly, teachers are very hands on and they are currently operating with an app called Class Dojo that lets you see pics of your kids throughout the day, get reports on their behavior, and can message the teachers all in one place. When it comes to Elementary schools, this one takes 1st place. It really is an amazing school the proof is in the reports. A+ on my list!

When he opened his own pre/after school care, it was no brainer for us to sign up both boys with Small Characters. The school has been very successful and extremely popular. There is a very nice atmosphere, enjoyment, and yet Andrew and his staff keep their authority with the kids. Also, they have just opened another location for a preschool. It took two years for my kids to get in but was worth the wait. I volunteer as a crossing guard three days a week and spend lots of time in the class room. If you live in arvada/westy area and looking for a school definetlly check out Hackberry. The only down fall is they have Half day kindergarden but just as effective as allday kindergarten.

She did defend herself once but received an in school suspension for doing so. The last time I spoke to the principal he said my child was lying. I have personally watched the bullying happen and it makes me sick. I cannot believe this staff is letting my little girl continue to be bullied like this! Do not send your children here if you hope to have your children protected, this staff will not provide safety from other students.

One with far-reaching & long-lasting ramifications that far surpass any benefit of one school year spent on this campus. The experience here took a historically outgoing and engaged student, with very well thought out plans for the future that wanted to utilize the course here as a stepping stone to an already chosen future career path and derailed it. An independent and more mature learning experience is expected from Warren Tech, but the complete and utter lack supervision, intelligence or guidance by the administration at this campus is unsurpassed. It has lead to a long, threatening journey for our child/family and turned an open, good-natured and gregarious student into to one who now struggles to trust anyone or find a path. We should have pulled our student out of their program the first semester. Hindsight is 20-20....

So that's a pretty good accomplishment. Anyhoot, the teachers that were there during my time there were awesome, but sadly like all of the middle school teachers except one left. But I have no doubts that qualified individuals filled their positions. The reason why I knocked a star off my review is because of the students. I got bullied for a couple of months before I told my dad what was going on after tanking the insults that were thrown at me on an almost daily basis from November-December, and maybe a bit after that even, but my dad put the foot down and issued a complaint to the principal. They dealt with it so well and fast, and I never had issues with that student again. The electives here are super enjoyable, and I'll have fond memories of of this school for a while. Sorry about this review not being super in-depth, but I tried my best to paint a picture of this place for you. :)
