1-Star Review -- Stay Far, Far Away…read more This place is literally about 3 minutes from my house, and I decided to give it a try because I wanted to get a massage for my birthday. The place I normally go to was booked, so I called China Massage and scheduled a 90-minute massage. When I arrived, the woman asked which massage I was getting, and I told her a 90-minute massage--the same service we had discussed over the phone. The next thing she told me was that I had to pay upfront before receiving my massage. I told her that I had never had to pay before the service. She then explained that she had to charge me first because her boss watches the cameras, and she pointed to a camera in the room. I get massages about twice a month and have lived in different states, and I have never experienced anything like this. Being told that I had to pay first because someone was watching the cameras made me extremely uncomfortable. I left feeling uncomfortable and honestly questioning why I was being treated this way. I sincerely hope my skin color had nothing to do with how I was treated, because there was no explanation given that made me feel comfortable or welcomed. Unfortunately, being only a few minutes from my home isn't enough reason for me to return. I will not be going back, and I would recommend that people think twice before booking here.

When I called to schedule, the person on the phone was lovely and made me feel good about surprising my mom and she even complimented me for being a thoughtful daughter. Unfortunately, the experience on the day of the appointment was far from professional. At 10am (the scheduled time), I received a call saying the staff was stuck in traffic coming from Chicago and would be 30 minutes late. My mom had arrived early at 9:45, only to find the spa completely closed--despite signage saying they open at 10. No lights on, no staff present. She decided to wait, but the staff didn't show up until 10:37am. Whoever opened the door didn't seem to know who my mom was or what service she was there for, which was concerning since I had booked and paid well in advance. It was clear they were disorganized. Despite paying for a 90-minute massage, my mom only received 60 minutes. She said the massage was "okay," but it felt rushed--not the relaxing experience I intended for her. Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing situation. If you're considering VIP Foot Spa, do not pay ahead, and manage your expectations. Their staff needs serious improvement in punctuality, organization, and customer service.

We were both more than satisfied with the quality of the services, ESPECIALLY given the price point (we paid $20 each). One thing that could elevate the experience is if they played some light spa music in the background, but otherwise, we left extremely happy customers and plan to definitely return in the future.

Vive is a very calming space. The lights are low and it's very comfortable. It looks small at first but there's a small waiting room down the hall from the entrance. Since it was my first visit, I spoke with the receptionist prior to my visit, and I filled out a medical/treatment history upon arrival. Amanda reviewed it with me thoroughly before starting my treatment. Amanda was also very professional. In addition to going over health information, she made sure that I was comfortable with what massage entails, that consent and comfort was paramount, and that I could tell her at any point if I was uncomfortable with what was happening. I really appreciated that clear communication. Something that's really helpful is that Vive lists all their therapists on their website, and in addition to their specialties it lists their pressure level. That was extremely helpful to me, because I knew I wanted someone who used firm pressure, so that definitely helped me find the right therapist. My time with Amanda was not only relaxing but helpful, as my back--whilst not completely neutral--felt much better after my session. And within the week the pain was essentially gone. I don't know if this was the reason, but it was certainly a contributing factor. In addition to standard massage, they have an infrared sauna here as well. They also sell a few items that may provide further relief. There are a few parking spaces in the lot directly in front of the business, and there are a few diagonal spaces on the street as well (just be sure not to block the sidewalk). If necessary, there's also parking along the neighborhood streets, too.

Booking via phone was super easy, and they also have an online booking system as well. The spa is super clean, cute, and modern. Halina is who took care of me the entire time and I absolutely adored her! So down-to-earth, friendly, and absolutely great at her job.
