Although it was a rainy day, Owen stood with us in various parts of our front and back yards to help us better understand the attributes of each area. He suggested we revisit our proposed hardscape. It made a huge difference in the aesthetics and function of our backyard. Beyond the consultation, Owen continued to patiently and thoroughly answer our follow up questions. As a result, visitors are always impressed with our completely new landscaped yards and the implementation of sustainable practices. It makes us feel good knowing we are using far less water, producing minimal green waste, not using any toxic chemicals, providing nectar-rich blooms, and significantly reducing storm water runoff. Having met Owen, I can say he truly cares about the greater good through sustainable landscape practices. This is actually a review for Shonnard's Landscape Services not the retail shop…read more I am actually not a customer of Shonnard's Landscape Services, but I saw something the other day that made me want to send this review. These are professionals. I was driving along Crystal Lake Drive, and a crew from Shonnards was doing some maintenance. I observed their crew using a power blower to blow debris BACK INTO THE BEDS instead of blowing debris farther into the street like so many other landscape maintenance folks seem to do. Often the mow-blow-go guys just blow all the clippings into the street even though it violates city code and is just obnoxious. I'm going to refrain from naming names of other landscape service providers that do this, but maybe I'll write some reviews soon and call 'em out on it if they don't stop. I've even seen downtown businesses blowing leaves into the street. Shame on them. If I needed some landscape maintenance services, I would call up Shonnard's just for this one thing I observed because it shows they care. Thank you Shonnard's!

We had a back yard that would pool water every rainy season, and he created a beautiful curved rock-festooned "grand canyon" that guided the water through a large underground drainage pipe through the front yard to the street's drain. I hired Green Acres Landscape for a one day job to install two water lines and 12 sprinkler heads…read moreinto an existing sprinkler system. I paid half up front and waited for work to start, 3 weeks later I find they forgot to put me on their schedule. When they showed up, it was not the crew I was told would be there, just one guy with a shovel instead of power equipment. He dug some trenches 12" deep and others 3" deep. He said it was harder digging in the backyard so he only went 3" deep. He broke an existing PVC drainage line and started putting duct tape on it to fix it. I said fix it correctly and he left the job site. I called the office and they said he will be back in the morning to fix it. While I was standing there with him, in front of the broken pipe, he buried it without fixing it. I made him dig it up and fix it. When the sprinkler heads were installed and adjusted, I started the sprinkler system to test it. It watered the side of my house and my neighbors yard. He said the 25 foot ratchet heads were could not water an 8' wide yard without getting water on the house. They came out the next day and replaced the heads and tried again. They had issue after issue and moved and changed the type of head three more times. It was a total clown show. The sprinklers did not go to the property line and I had 18" of dead yard. A Relationship Manager came over and he looked at everything and said he would fix the following day, which he did. The next day everything was fixed and I was happy. The manager handed me a letter from the ladies in the office. I thought it was a gift certificate to a local restaurant for all the trouble I experienced, but it was a letter stating that they were done working on my sprinkler system and any other repairs or issues will cost me $82 an hr. It was a slap in the face and poor customer service. They turned a one day job into a nightmare without one word of regret.

We live in a new house in a new subdivision. They planted several dead plants and rocks all around…read morethem. They inatalled rock instead of grass along side of the house. The rocks are hard to walk on. Not what we were told we were getting.
