Great place for lunch. We sat in their outdoor patio area because of the good weather. It wasn't busy so it was easy to order and get service when needed. There is a happy hour menu throughout the weekdays, mostly drink specials. We got their ramen because we were craving soups. I got the omakase ramen; the menu said it comes with 3 different types of pork but only served 2 types. Overall very good. Soft boiled eggs and broth was tasty, just slightly salty but not bad. My husband got the shoyu cha-su ramen and completed the entire bowl! Chill environment during lunch time and pretty diverse menu of Japanese and Asian food. read more

Located in the Bellavista neighborhood where there are a multitude of restaurants. Featuring noodles galore, including several versions of ramen, food is fairly authentic with no hints of Chilean or Latin influence. This is a chain, so they are trying to adhere to the recipes and standards but using local ingredients. Noodle dishes were very good, interior is nice, service was good. Reasonably priced too, not to mention about a third cheaper than the same offerings in the US. read more

This restaurant won my heart. I've been living in Santiago for a few months now, and I first ate in Ootoya with the sole intention of having a regular weeknight dinner. Zero high expectations. I got the Shirashi Sushi, and the fish were absolutely and absurdly fresh, cut to perfection, and the rice perfectly cooked. I was really impressed that the quality was so much higher than your regular japanese place. Second time I got the Sumo Ramen. I've had ramen in millions of different places, from high-end restaurants to roots japanese restaurants in the basement of a building. This one is the best one I've had, no doubt! The broth was out of this world and the noodles had an amazing texture. When I thought they couldn't cook ALL the menu so perfectly, I once again ate there, this time the Ootoya Soba - I still have no words for it. It's cooked in a special sauce that you just want to stop whatever you're doing and thank whoever brought this marvelousness upon the world. It's the perfect amount of spiciness so you can also enjoy the great flavor of the dish, which is seasoned to perfection. They're also very generous with the amount of seafood, which is not usual in restaurants. I highly recommend. They are good at absolutely everything that comes out of that kitchen. Ordered out on UberEats and the food was awesome. The Szechuan "empanadas" were killer. We also had their curry noodles which tasted more like Indian food but were fantastic. Sushi tasted fresh and we would definitely go here again to the restaurant to order more sushi. read more

This is a small Asian restaurant in the belle vista neighborhood that is excellent. Sashimi served on ice was excellent. The dumpling was great. Shrimp shu Mai and the tuna tartine. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. We stumbled into this place and it was top notch. read more
