Instead of saving £10, I actually chose to pay £10 more for the "hand-tied" Valentine's bouquet specifically because it included lilies -- her absolute favourite flowers. That was the whole reason I selected that particular (more expensive) option. When the bouquet arrived, there were no lilies in it at all. I called to query this and was told they had "matched the value" by including orchids instead. But that completely misses the point. I didn't choose the bouquet based on price alone -- I chose it because it clearly showed lilies in the product photo and description. There was nothing stated anywhere that they could just substitute the main flowers like that without notice. To make matters worse, they offered for us to come down and return the £50+ bouquet and they would give us some stems of lilies instead?! Some of the things being said on the phone genuinely left me speechless -- I was so shocked I didn't even know how to respond. I asked for at least a £10 refund, considering I paid extra for the bouquet with lilies in the photo. That was refused. Eventually, after going back and forth, we came to the agreement that they would deliver two stems of lilies. When they arrived later that day, the lilies honestly looked worse than the ones we had sitting in a vase next to them from Asda. In fact, the lilies from Asda lasted longer than the entire bouquet I bought from this florist. For the price paid and the occasion it was for, this was nowhere near the quality or service I expected. I won't be ordering from here again.

I had my wedding flowers from here, numerous birthdays and have even had to get flowers for two funerals from here sadly. They always give great advice, have a good range of flowers to choose from (they have a photo album with previous arrangements that they have done) at a competitive price. The staff are always courteous and treat you with respect and empathy depending upon the situation. They also have expanded over the years and they have a gift section with some reasonably priced plants, vases, etc. There is a car park at the back you can use, as it is situated on a parade. They come well recommended and I should mention that they did all my friends weddings etc.

I love the minimalist layout of the interior which make the bouquets, vases and gifts jump out at you. The owners obviously are very keen interior designers too and they've done a great job. You can choose your own blooms to create the perfect bouquet or purhcase one of their spectacular arrangements. The colours combinations are so vibrant. You can tell a lot of love and talent has gone into each one and the best bit is they start at just £20! The gifts also appeal to every pocket, with candles, vases and hand made jewellery starting at only a few pounds. This florist really is a breath of fresh air.

But happily Robie's Flowers has managed to carve out a little customer base without treading on too many daffodils. It is a 'bespoke' florist and you can see the difference as soon as you walk in - they sell a lot of exotic flowers, orchids, things like that. Up to as many as 50 different types of flowers, most imported from Holland this is where to go for something a bit different. The shop itself, never mind the beautiful flowers that provide handy decoration, is sophisticated in its own way despite the traditional tudor style black and white exterior. I for one think it a good thing that owner Robie Flood stole his gem of a florists away from Middleton and brought it to (more enlightened?) Prestwich.
