    Vegan sushi dinner!
    Ian L.

So, it was my 2 year wedding anniversary and I was in charge of dinner. My wife is vegan and I eat vegan about 95% of the time. I saw Oono Sushi initially on IG and thought it would be a fun dinner to bring home to the Mrs. (along with some flowers and champagne). Oono did not disappoint! We had each vegan offering on their menu and they were all beyond delicious!!! Thanks, Oono Sushi, for making our anniversary memorable. We will definitely be back.

    Tornado roll. Amazing

Tried this incredible sushi at two different vegan pop-ups- one in Lake Forest and the other in DTSA. I tried the tornado roll and the shrimp tornado roll (??) and I have a preference for the tornado roll. As a non-vegan, I'm surprised by how delicious it is and the texture makes you forget that there is no real fish in it. I feel like both times time flavor was consistent so good on them! They don't typically include ginger with the roll so you have to ask for it. Excellent stall, keep up the delicious dishes!

Greetings, I am informing you that myself and co workers attended the farmers market in Downtown Los Angeles. We frequently purchase food from your employees at the Sushi Stand when they attend. We have noticed that the sushi stand is not present in a while at the farmers market. Our favorite is the Tornado Sushi with Lobster or Shrimp. I'm informing you that my coworkers and I state that your staff the two gentlemen are doing a fantastic job with the food presentation and superb customer service every time when they attend the Thursday farmers market by the courts. Best Sushi hands down in LA Ever

Salmon Crab & Avocado sushi burrito
    Jon M.

Oono is a cool looking stand at the mid Wilshire farmers' market on Wednesdays about 10a-2pm at Courtyard Place. They have an extensive selection. I went with the salmon, crab and avocado burrito which to be blunt was: phenomenal! Very fresh, large, fluffy moist rice with delicious salmon & crab meat nestled in it surrounded by lush avocado. Service is appropriately fast, courteous for the large office lunch crowd there. Frankly, I am dreaming of my next visit since they have so many creative offerings. The prices are also very reasonable for the great ingredients.

Tried this stand at the corona food fair and was able to try their tuna sushi roll!!! Soooo delicious and filling! The rice was perfectly cooked, the "tuna" was creamy yet had similar meaty texture, and the sauce was slightly spicy and just seriously delicious!! Try this spot out it's definitely worth the wait

Why haven't I been here before ? Delicious sushi , fresh, great sauces . The staff was fast and friendly.

    shrimp sushi burrito

I seen them and my husband is a die hard Mexican will not steer from meat and has to have his meat on each plate he eats lol... I ordered him the shrimp sushi burrito (without telling him it wasn't meat lol) he ate 2 plates of it and said it was probably the best sushi he's had. I then told him ITS VEGAN! He couldn't believe me and kept arguing that there was shrimp in it lol.. I got him on board now he's willing to try some more vegan option foods

Arriving back home in Big Bear with 2 orders of this delicious vegan shrimp tornado :)!

Best vegan sushi I've had so far! I have traveled all the way from my home in Big Bear just to satisfy this craving and never regret it. Ordering is just a DM or txt away and the pick up is quick and organized. I get the vegan shrimp tornado and while I want to try other items on the menu this option is just so GOOD! I look forward to my next trip down the mountain for this sushi :D

Freshest sushi in town ! Make sure to follow them and stop by . My favorite is the CHIRASHI and YELLOWTAIL DELIGHT .

Slow service. Very very slow. Nice ambience with okay food. I think if they can run the place a bit smoother it would be more enjoyable.

One of the best al pastor burritos in LA! A friend…read morerecommended it to me and I traveled 19 miles and wasn't disappointed. You could see the freshness of al pastor on their vertical rotating grill and the meat seemed leaner as well. They cut a new batch of al pastor and then they chop it to smaller pieces than you're normally used to seeing and somehow, those smaller pieces preserved all the delicious meat juice inside. The al pastor was very tender, juicy, well-marinated and had the sweet and savory notes in a perfect balance and the guys adding some fresh, ripe pineapple on top was a nice touch! I got served my burrito open-faced, I added the salsa, pickled onion and chopped fresh onions and then sent it back to the crew for the final wrapping. Just a great, tasty burrito that absorbed really well. The quality could really be seen and felt and the $10 price tag was unbeatable. The customer service was very friendly and there is plenty of parking right behind the taco stand on the CVS plaza. Will definitely come again!

Whoa. The hype is real. For all these years I put street food, taco trucks a step tier below actual…read morerestaurants. But this all changed tonight. I watched a burrito be made right in front of me in a minute and it turned out to be one of the best burittos I've ever had. And it was only $12. I understand now. The added pineapple in the buritto added just enough sweetness. They smash the tortilla into the grill and they also smash the meat to make sure it's hot. The meat has no gristle and it's very soft and flavorful. This is why we live in California. I applaud the taco stands opening up in the same block. The line was intimidating but the festive music only made me hungrier. I am surprised at how friendly the staff can be while they are "at work". I've only seen such positivity at Howlin Rays. Luckily, the line moves much faster. They had a cactus salsa which would have gone great with salsa chips. It's the type of salsa that you get at great mexican restaurants and they just let you choose an unlimited amount of it. I asked for rice and beans in my burrito and they put just the right amount of it, being careful as to not overpower the meat portions. I also appreciate that I can add my own salsa, onions, cilantro, before handing it back to them to wrap it. Sometimes the hype of LA places are blown out of proportion especially with blog posts and social media. But I can vouch for this place. It really is worth it. I will be back for sure.

Caught me off guard. I said "well yea but online , on your website it says 10.99" he said "it's 14.99 plus tax" okay well what was the attitude for? I told him they need to update their online prices especially if you'll be sassy about answering what the actual price is. He said "oh the website hasn't been updated in a while". I guess they think everyone is suppose to know what the prices are. They're assuming everyone is finding their person the Uber Eats I guess. I just googled/ yelped and found this place. It's a million other wing spots to go to. So I went somewhere else. Businesses like this, that think they can get away with treating potential paying customers any kind of way because maybe they've trending or in high demand will eventually have a rude awakening. Especially when in today's age , giving an attitude and poor customer service to the wrong customer can get you review bombed and your business go under. So to the staff and owner... Stay humble, treat everyone with respect, please because you never know! Nice little wings tho. Emphasis on little. It's all made by hand by 3 guys under a tent. I saw they're opening a new location. Hopefully they learn their lesson sooner or later!

I kept hearing about Miya Miya from friends, so of course I had to go see what the hype was about…read more It's basically a food stand set up outside the Edge apartments in Santa Monica, kind of like those late-night taco stands you see all over LA. Super casual setup, but you can tell it's popular. I think they're planning to open a full shop eventually. Parking wasn't too bad, just metered street parking nearby. We got there around 3:30 pm on a Friday... and there was already a line. They don't even open until 4:30. One of the workers came and told us it would be about an hour wait once they opened, so we decided to stick it out. I brought a book, my husband had his games and stuff to study, so we were prepared to hang out for a bit. We didn't get our food until 6:30 pm so yeah, definitely longer than expected. Everything is made fresh right after you order, so even once you finally get to the front, there's another 10 to 20 minute wait while they assemble everything. Also, each person can only order 2 shawarmas, which makes sense because everyone's already been waiting forever and goes all in. The owner was very friendly hospitable and appreciative that everyone was waiting for their food. The staff were upbeat happy , listening to music and vibing while cooking everything. We ended up getting 4 chicken shawarmas (that's the only option) "Yaz way" which comes with spicy garlic sauce and Jordanian pomegranate molasses, plus the beef tallow fries topped with fresh za'atar. And honestly... it was worth it. The shawarma was SO good. Like 11/10. The chicken was super tender and juicy, packed with flavor. They dip the top of the wrap in extra garlic sauce and pomegranate molasses, so your first bite is insanely good... messy in the best way, dripping with sauce, tangy, garlicky, a little spicy. And somehow the last bite is just as good. The garlic sauce actually has a real kick to it, not overwhelming, but enough to wake up your taste buds. And the pomegranate molasses? That was the star for me. It adds this tart, slightly sweet flavor that cuts through the richness perfectly. It's such a unique combo and works so well. The fries were also really good, crispy and savory with that beef tallow flavor, and the za'atar on top gave it a nice herby finish. There's some seating nearby in the apartment complex area by Gelson's, so you're not just standing around trying to eat. I ate one shawarma there and saved the other for the next day, and it was still delicious, which says a lot. Would I go back? Yes... but definitely not for a 3-hour wait again If the line is like 20 to 40 minutes, I'm there. But for a first-time experience, it was fun, worth it, and honestly kind of part of the whole LA food hype vibe.

The highlight of this experience was honestly the owner, Yass, genuinely one of the nicest people…read moreyou'll meet. He made a 2.5-hour wait feel bearable, which is saying a lot. But would I stand in that line again for shawarma? Not a chance. As for the food itself, it just wasn't for me. The flavors didn't land, the sauces weren't my thing, and the only thing I actually enjoyed was the crunch. I'm starting to wonder if shawarma simply isn't my food though my boyfriend would disagree. He liked it, and while he's equally firm about never reclaiming those 2.5 hours of his life, he'd eat it again if they ever opened a brick-and-mortar with no wait. Also, we hated the fries. That said, I'm genuinely rooting for Yass. He left a career in finance after losing his father to pursue this, and you can feel the heart behind it. He's a good person running a small operation that clearly has a loyal following and that counts for something. The crowd was genuinely nice and enjoyable to be around standing in line for that long. The location is in a nice area.
