This was the second place that i visited on my quest to find clothes from the 1920s. Saw one or two outfits that worked, but didnt buy anything. Then went to several other places where i found cheaper versions of the clothes that i saw at Oona's. Did return though to buy cheap, pretty jewelry and a hat. On the whole, this place is not bad. One thing i really like about Oona's is that the price tags are color-coded to tell you the size. read more

I usually don't leave reviews if I don't have anything nice to say, but I used to love this place and I'm sad about what's happened to it. They had a great selection of vintage menswear that beat most other shops around. Since the remodel, and perhaps change of ownership, it's overpriced with very little vintage stock. I used to find good vintage Oxford shirts there for under $20. Now everything is modern (WESC and other "hip" brands) for over $80. Garment District now gets all of my business, which is a shame because I liked this place better. read more

I'm sad. I used to LOVE this place! It was all really awesome vintage, unique and fairly priced. Very cute and quirky. Now it is mostly modern hipster brands and everything is overpriced. What happened? I guess there's new ownership, but I'm disappointed to see what's happened to a vintage store I have fond memories of.... :( read more

I would not have been able to run the 2008 Marine Corps Marathon in a bright fuschia tutu without the lovely tutu selection at Oona's!

Not really into this place. It's small and stuffed with some pretty boring vintage items, mostly really cheesy stuff. The store is barely organized the staff was not helpful AT ALL. I used to visit Boston a lot to see family when I was living on the east coast and I would always check this place out hoping it would be better or that I would find something I liked... but it's barely better than The Garment District and way more expensive. read more

Found this place through Instagram and so glad I did!! Best consignment around!! Got a 50% off annoucement through their Instagram feed. Staff is awesome and they really know their stuff. Brought a lot of stuff in and they gave a great price for it! I love vintage and this is really the place to go. Thumbs up Oona's!! read more

This place is a hidden gem that requires a bit of luck -- you won't get a treasure every time you stop by, but when you do, oh boy! The prices are unbelievably cheap for the quality of the merchandise and the neighborhood it's in. Oona, I love you! read more

I have never purchased anything from them. Every time I go in, I haven't found something that strikes my fancy. The place is really small, but very interesting. The guy working the other day seemed nice enough, and not overbearing, like the woman that was working there last time I visited. Trust me, as a customer and a salesperson, I KNOW people get uncomfortable being followed around or bombarded with questions. Sometimes, people just want to look around on their own. read more

Got a great pair of dress shoes here for $40. They are like new. Took me several visits before ones I liked were available in my size but it was well worth stopping by a couple times a week to check. read more

I love vintage and consignment shopping but I'm not much of a digger. Oona's has done the digging for us, and there wasn't much I didn't like. Staff was very friendly, patient especially, which is key for these stores, especially for girls like me who like to try on, change their mind 80 million times and put things on h.old. I ended up finding a hot pink raw silk 60s mini-dress for $20; my roommate walked out with a very "now" button down. I'll be back regularly and would strongly recommend following up any shopping expedition with a bloody mary and burger nearby at Russell Square Tavern.. Bravo Oona's for your good eye, decent prices and fun atmosphere. read more

This place is an absolute darling. The price is reasonable and to some extend, cheap. The staff's pretty all right, entertaining themselves and let me browse... Very vintagey things. Love the aprons but I wouldn't be seen dead outside with an apron now, would I? On the downside though, I did see a stain on one dress... Didn't buy anything today, but saw some really vintagey bags for $10-$20 that's absolutely cute! Oh well, will definitely check this place out the next time I come round to harvard square. read more

I used to work next door to Oona's and as a result I have a lot of shirts from there. I think there is something really nice about a place that has been around as long as Oona's has been. Plus the staff is fantastic and always willing to help. I hope they stay in business forever. read more

This is true vintage at its best. I hadn't been in for a while and what a surprise - it's so well organized! Not only is it TRUE AUTHENTIC vintage - Oona's has consistent and realistic pricing. I bought a great jacket for $20 and 4 necklaces for $18. if they had parking I would frequent the place more but it is worth the journey on the bus for sure! read more

Oona' s has change my philosophy on fashion and style. Every purchase I make is a "green" one so-to-speak. I am saving and resurrecting a piece of beautiful clothing that otherwise would have stayed in a "dead" closet and strongly refusing to buy new ($$$) pieces from a Club Monaco, Cynthia Rowley, J.Crew, or "made in China"- xyz store. Ellie, the owner, is an educated buyer searching the ends of the earth for quality auctions and estate sales. She makes brilliant choices - disarming the new to look base, and empowering the experienced clothes to look undoubtedly fresh. I always feel excellent after leaving this place. It has the best prices, a comedic and helpful staff, and pieces that simply are one of a kind. (not just for women either-- I got a pocket knife for my man from the 1940s for 15 bucks) I have sold most of my old wardrobe to Buffalo Exchange in order to get cash-money to use here. It's a glorious cycle. read more

Wow!!!!! Oona's was recently bought by a really awesome younger woman who has EXCELLENT taste, and this place has made a complete turnaround! It's much bigger than it used to be, and really well decorated. The selection has expanded considerably and is now packed to the brim with beautiful vintage finds in a really wide variety of sizes. The prices are also really impressive, I found an outrageous pair of platform shoes from the early 60's in perfect condition for only 30$, and a super cute mink trimmed black wool coat also in great condition for only 18$. I will definitely be coming back here ASAP. read more

I loved the 'old' Oonas- although, I was often overwhelmed and didn't spend too many days there, because it was crowded, and the clothes didn't appeal to me as much. The new style is 'Modern Vintage' (the name of a REALLY good Album by Miss Tess). I love it, I appreciate the dry-cleaned touch. Also, I was speaking with the manager and she told me there are PLENTY of clothes in house, she just refreshes them as she goes, so people aren't so overwhelmed. It's also, still quite inexpensive! read more

I've been into Oona's several times because I have an unquenchable lust for secondhand clothing and my boyfriend's guitar store is nearby. It's got a great selection and I've made some scores there, but I'm withholding a few stars because customer service at Oona's, as has been noted in previous reviews, is spotty at best, lackadaisical and downright rude at worst. I'd recommend the Garment District over Oona's for costume needs because it has a better selection, but it's worth going in for the jewelry and accessories if you're in the area. read more

I feel like Oona's is one of the more authentic vintage places around -- as in, the woman who works there (I always think her name is Oona, but she's a relative) seems like a true historian of vintage, and her collection shows it. Also, you can find a dress for 20 or 30 bucks in a pinch. Oona's also has a fantastic collection of little wraps, jackets, scarves, big jewelry, purses, etc. I bought a 1920's pearl collar there for my Audrey Hepburn Halloween costume years ago, and it's become one of my main accessory staples. The woman who works there isn't all smiles, but she knows her stuff, and she'll warm up to you if you're chatty and respectful. The place always seems to have alot of foot traffic, and there are tons of clothes jammed in there, so go when you don't have a headache and be prepared to dig. read more

At Oona's I always find highend vintage clothes that are in amazing conditions with bargain price. Large accesories selection and wonderful one of a kind jackets and outterwear. For men, great vintage selections of Penfield and Woolrich (I bought XS/S in men for the boyfriend look) and some of the foreign brands with 100% wool(shame that companies today don't make clothes with a high quality fabric anymore). Lastest purchase was men's wool leather toggle coat for $50, men's sports jacket(tailored fit)$30, women's Disel jean jacket for $35, Tori Burch silk dress for $45. I just wish that Oona's have online store read more

The lighting in this store is atrocious. If I ever shop here again, it will not be after dark. The staff was far more interested in talking to friends and blocking the merchandise I wanted to view than assisting me. I don't think the new owner has a clue about how to run a successful retail venue. One room has barely any merchandise at all. How does she expect to make sufficient dollars per square foot? Prices are reasonable, especially considering the location. I don't expect the "new" Oona's to survive, sadly. I actually miss the crabby former owner and her stuffed-store madness. read more

Oona's is a wonderful, well curated vintage shop. I stop in every time I'm in Harvard Square to browse the displays of jewelry and accessories. My boyfriend loves the huge (for the size of the store) men's section. In addition to the great quality of the clothing, they have taken the time to measure pieces to give modern sizing approximations (denoted by color coding). I bought a great 80s party dress here for New Years. The sales staff are really friendly and so helpful. read more

You get what you pay for. Most of the fun sometimes cute, usually silly clothes offered here are under 30.00. However, they are in pretty horrid condition. I am talking unidentified stains and rips. I am, quite frankly, not nearly as much of a germaphob as I should be, but even I would be grossed out to wear a lot of this stuff. This is too bad, because minus the huge ketchup (I think) stains, I saw some nice dresses. They do have a fun collection of hats, shoes, jewelery and art. I am especially impressed with the 5.00 bags and bought two clutches. The store is really cramped, making it hard to scavenge. read more

So, please disregard my previous review. I mean, that crepe place had not existed for so long! Back then, I was a mere mid-line brand shopper, barely a vintage novice, not a vintage lover. Now, after carefully reviewing fashion blogs, I began to appreciate vintage or gently used. Their selection is unreal. Yes, they still have amazing jewelry, I am still thinking about those dangly earrings I left back. However, you can find a pair of Tod's lace up brogues in top condition for $45. UNREAL!!!! I am so excited I think I will sleep in those shoes, but that's beyond the point. Cool Ts, huge selection of cool coats/jackets, great men's dept, awesome prices. read more

UHHHHHHH sooooo very worth the trip if you like vintage! Ellie stocks a fine and ever changing selection of high quality pieces at very affordable prices....you just can't find this stuff anymore!!! And they do, at an affordable price. Set up is so sweet, a true must!!!! read more

Expected a closet sized store from previous reviewers, but found a compact, efficiently laid out thrift store. Was shopping for family, but if I was shopping for me, I would've easily walked out with several items. Items are reasonably priced for the quality, you can find a good vintage dress here in a heartbeat. read more

Great selection at a great price. The owner does an excellent job of keeping only vintage items that are quite stylish. The staff is very friendly and helpful (not stuck up or "too cool for school" in the least - like many trendy consignment shops, unfortunately, often are). read more

There is a lot of variety in this store, and the selection changes frequently so it's not always the same stuff. The store itself is vintage having been around since the 70's. Some people might be frustrated by the lack of cheap vintage items, but they've probably never considered what it takes to keep a store running in Harvard Sq these days. In reality it's not just the store that has changed but the whole area. I think Oona's has done a good job of reinventing itself and keeping a broad selection of vintage clothes and unique items in an area that's becoming more friendly to chain stores and big businesses than relics such as this. read more

There's no other vintage or consignment shop like it in Cambridge/Boston! Hand-picked vintage items, listed by designer and era--there is an obvious value for the pieces themselves. I just stopped by during my lunch break and bought two dresses from the 50's-60's era. Both under $20, and both in impeccable shape! One of the dresses I purchased had a small tear in it, and when I pointed it out, the ladies fixed it right there while I waited! It was a great gesture, a sign of sincere dedication. On top of the great items and service, the renovations that have been made are gorgeous. The beautiful fireplace, formerly covered up by a cashier's counter, is now the center of the entrance room. The space is much more accessible, less cluttered, with a chic-er feel. I loved the place before the new ownership, and I love it even more now. Keep it up Oona's! read more

Easily my favorite "experienced clothing store" I've ever been to. I'm originally from Chicago and we have some excellent vintage. However- if you are looking for a completely unique piece at a reasonable price, this is the place to go! My personal favorite part of Oona's is the amazing dress collection. I got a 1950s tea dress that fits me unbelievably perfectly for just over $50. The dresses are so beautiful, interesting, and in really incredible condition. Definitely a must-stop place for fancy occasions! read more

A surviving remnant of the older Harvard Square, a nice little place to get used clothing or just browse on a regular basis.

Used to be a great place to shop. However lately the girl in charge either goes away for long breaks and says back in 5. Or shuts the place much before time and pretends she is not inside. Hope the owners take note of this. read more

Decided to stop by after leaving the iPhone repair shop next door, as I love checking out different consignment stores, and I was blown away. The second I stepped in, it became evident that this shop is one of the most well-organized vintage stores I have ever been to. All of the pieces on display were so unique and one-of-a-kind. They have, however, started experimenting with carrying a contemporary brand, so there are some multiples here and there which is nice to have as well. The authenticity is incredible and both I and my mother left with timeless pieces at bargain prices to add to our closets. Would definitely recommend. read more

i have been here three times, and two of the three times i found nothing at all, but the one time i did find something, it was the most spectacular vintage store find ever, so i give them 4 stars. now let me tell you what i found there. it was a vintage persian lamb coat with round jeweled buttons and mink trimming (at the collar and sleeves) in excellent condition. i paid $80, which is sort of a lot to pay for something old and used, but this particular coat, except for its classic hemming and attention to detail (which is rare these days), seemed brand spanking new. i should also say that i am not one to like being wrapped up in dead animal parts, but with this coat i dont mind at all. how annoying do i sound bragging about my coat for an entire paragraph. i guess what im trying to say is oona's is worth a visit, although its unlikely you'll find something every time. read more

meh. i wanted oona's to be cooler. i was ready for it to be awesome. in the hopes that i am jumping to judgmental conclusions, i will try to go back at some point. in the meantime, it was more of a U2 moment in that i still haven't found what i'm looking for... read more

Really high quality stuff, some seems practically new, and its all really cheap. Even if it's not as cheap as your average thrift store that takes anything, the selection is as good as any boutique, and therefore it's a great deal. I do as much of my shopping here as possible read more

Found a great dress here for a vintage styled wedding I was attending. Collection was great and prices very reasonable. I could do a lot of shopping here. Shoutout to Ally for providing great customer service! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Boston! read more

It's just too sad that "vintage" here actually means "very worn". Some of the clothes are absolutely unbeatable as costumes, as are all of the accessories. The problem is with the condition of stuff. I've bought a skirt recently and only after I got home and had a chance to look at it more carefully I noticed rips and coffee stains. That means that after purchasing a "bargain" I have to go and spend my time mending it, plus invest into dry-cleaning it, and that takes the fun out of the game. read more

Visited the other day and fell in love! Although a small store, they have an excellent collection of women's (I didn't check out the men's section) vintage from the 40s-90s. It's a clean, well organized and cutely-decorated store. Definitely eye candy! The prices are very reasonable for vintage and the 2 young ladies staffing the store were helpful and pleasant. I can't wait to return. read more

Stay out of the dressing rooms! I got a third degree burn from the lighting fixture they use in all of the dressing rooms. The attendant said I wasn't the first one and that they've been trying to tell the owner to change the light fixtures. So, I wonder why the attendant hung my clothes right next to the light bulbs??!! Also, a lot of the vintage clothes are damaged and overly priced. read more

I've only been here 2 or 3 times but when I went the clothing seemed pretty sweet. If you love vintage you'll love this store. I mean can you beat a 5 dollar rack? They have some pretty crazy junk and accesories too. I got a princess diana metal cheap ring there. haha. Well the only downside is the size. You probably could fit 5 fat people in there tops. read more
