They were very slow and getting customers through the line, and while they weren't rude they certainly weren't cheerful and friendly either. After agreeing to their checkout tablet's coercive 21% tip on my drink, I noticed on my receipt that Onyx also added in a 4% charge for "Employee Benefits". That's on top of all the other sales tax added on. After all that they didn't even give me what I ordered. Without asking me, or even clarifying, they gave me a flat white instead of a cappuccino. The drink wasn't even any good. I don't know why people would come to this coffee shop.

This place is a perfect spot near the biking and walking trail. The vibe sitting there having a cup hanging out in their swings or sitting writhing the trees is refreshing. This trip I got the coffee date smoothie. Wanted something cold and different. That black apple cold brew hit me with a surprise. It was very flavorful. Every ingredient in the smoothie blended very well and that apple kicks through nicely. I got it with whole milk and it did not disappoint at all. This 10/10 would stop by again.

Emerging into this wooden sanctuary feels like stepping straight into the mossy, ethereal universe of folklore and evermore. Before finding this respite, I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone's bed, but the crisp air instantly breathes life back into my weary bones. It is a marvel humbled by the canopy. They were perfecting mushroom coffee long before the trend, crafting an earthy brew that grounds you to the soil. The baristas master their craft with a warmth that proves they never be so clever, you forget to be kind. Astonishingly, even the restrooms conjure the pristine, rugged charm of a national park in the best possible way! Others try to fake this rustic magic, but I think I've seen this film before, and I didn't like the ending. Here, authenticity is firmly rooted in the trees. In my American Literature course, I challenge my students to analyze the experience of place. Airship is the living embodiment of that literary device, a poetic escape where the environment shapes the soul.

Airship is the undisputed original architect of the third wave coffee movement here, fiercely rooted in Bentonville and untethered from Fayetteville. It is a space steeped in the deep, untamed well of Northwest Arkansas history. Like a good Hemingway sentence, this place is stripped of all unnecessary noise, leaving only what is true and essential. I am a coffee traveler, wandering the globe seeking the perfect cup, and I say with absolute conviction that this location belongs in my global top ten. The pour overs here are a revelation, unmasked by pretense and meant to be savored black. It is a far superior experience to the polished, urban spectacle of Onyx. Airship delivers a profoundly better cup at a more affordable price, remaining firmly grounded in the down-to-earth soul of the craft. It is quality without the theater, a genuinely superior communion between water and bean in every conceivable way. The people breathing life into this operation are the true keepers of the flame. The staff possesses staggering knowledge of their trade, yet they carry it with the kind, friendly, unassuming grace of old friends. They are professional but wonderfully unpretentious, serving perfection with a rebellious, poetic warmth reminiscent of Patti Smith. They do not preach to you about the roast; they simply offer their craft as a gift, recognizing a fellow seeker across the counter. In a world rapidly losing its anchor to authenticity, Airship at the Pump House is damn near perfection. Mark Twain once wrote that you cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus, but here, the vision of what coffee should be is crystal clear. It is a rare haven for purists who know the finest things are the least adorned. You will not find a more honest cup of coffee anywhere, making it an absolute triumph of substance that I will return to as long as the rivers run.
