I would have made him let me off and call the police and an ambulance to get back to my facility but I will make certain you never are allowed by Medicare to transport anybody else. The patient remains in the wheelchair, which they firmly secure to the van floor and ceiling with special straps. The strap arrangement provides a seat belt and shoulder strap for the patient. Their price is based on distance, with a 10 mile minimum. The are open 24x7, but charge a bit more for after hours, weekends, and holidays.

I sincerely hope you never need a service like this! Read on and you will understand…read more These are the folks you need if you have medical issues and you are unable to drive yourself. You might be confined to a bed and need to go to a hospital or rehab center or doctor on a non-emergency basis. Or you might be in a wheelchair with similar issues. These folks step up to the plate and get what can be a challenging job done. I am the caregiver for my 92 years young mother. For the last three months we have bounced between hospitals and rehab centers and doctor's offices. Sometimes she has been on a stretcher and sometimes in a wheelchair. I always traveled with her and handled all the arrangements. Here are my observations- * The vehicles used have always been meticulously maintained and very clean. * The drivers and attendants have been friendly and treated the patients with care and dignity. * Payment was simple once they had your charge card info. * The dispatch folks were friendly and efficient. * Their timeliness was very good but not excellent. In fairness to them it was not necessarily their fault. When transporting severely impaired folks, medical issues come up that may cause unavoidable delays. If a vehicle is a few minutes late picking you up, you need to understand this. These folks are in several counties in Florida. If you need this type of transportation, I would highly recommend them!
