I flew in from San Francisco to watch her die within 48 hours and her husband and my stepsister went to Jones Funeral home the day after she died without telling me even though I was in Jacksonville. They kept her remains and won't give me my 1/3 which was her dieing wish. I contacted the Funeral Director at Jones Funeral Home and asked him to ship my part of her to me. He was rude and told me he gave it to her husband and wasn't getting involved in family drama! If this business was in a city bigger than BFE they would be out of business! Shame in you Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville NC!

When they came to pick up my mother's body from our home, they were compassionate and respectful, and handled her with every care and caution. Later that day when I met with the funeral director, Katie, I was still in shock, but she patiently helped so much with all of the details. I never felt rushed or pressured to do anything my brother hadn't arranged. I forgot to ask questions and was not really aware of all the details, but she responded quickly via email each time I thought of something else. She made all of the arrangements and also did a lot of legwork when we were trying to find a way to get my dad, who is bedridden, to the funeral. Katie was a kind, accommodating, and calming presence through the whole process. She went above and beyond to create a lovely funeral for my mom. We had a viewing and then went directly to the burial ceremony. For the viewing, my mother's body was in an open casket. Her makeup looked very natural and captured her beauty and personality authentically. They really did a lovely job. They also provided refreshments at the viewing, which were delicious homemade cookies, still warm from the oven. I hadn't eaten for two days, so being welcomed with such a fantastic aroma was exactly what I needed, as well as comforting. The funeral itself was absolutely perfect. It was also live-streamed for no extra cost, so that my dad and others who were unable to travel could view it online. This made several of our children and extended relatives happy to be able to attend virtually, including relatives living in Spain and France. If you find yourself in the very sorrowful situation of having to say goodbye to a dear loved one, you will be in fantastic hands with the folks at Johnson's Funeral Home. Atlas monument, Mr. Randy the owner is the most amazing man, I called a few months ago, I wanted…read moreto get a quote for my grandparents that who passed awhile back. None of my family members were in a position to get that done. This year God blessed me and when Randy and I discussed what I needed a double headstone, he asked me for both my grandparents information. Randy emailed me back with more then just a quote, he sent a few different headstone already designed with all the info on the stones. I saw one that was the shiny headstone with inclined hearts and vines that on the outside of each heart. I also told Randy they we catholic and both were hearing impaired, one the top of each heart was the I love you sign for sign language. The bottom ( Our Father hallow Be thy name), last he put a picture of my grandparents together in the middle of were the hearts intwin on the top. I sent the picture as a group message to the rest of my family ask if anyone would like to pitch in. So we were all excited, and we all said right then yes , yes love it. . So I emailed Randy it's a go we loved the headstone it was the first design. That night ii was told do you think that we said yes to the picture, cause we felt guilty about not doing it sooner, I was asked to see if he could come up with something with the same design but under a certain amount. When he got the email he said what do you need to , have this done, I told him, and I also felt so bad our love of his work had all of us saying yes on the spot. Mr. Randy has so much patience, and so much heart to help families get what is needed for making sure we are all happy with our purchase to make our grandparents proud. Mr. Randy was the one who went and repaired and cleaned up , when they vandalized the cemetery, he cleaned up,repaired damaged headstone even the ones he didn't have to. He blesses so many people even people he doesn't even know. Knowing all that, there was no way I was going to a different company. When we told him what we needed to make this work, he came up with a way it worked for us with out thinking twice about it. When we said yes, he set the date to sign the paperwork and pay for what we agreed upon. I told him not to rush, a little more time wouldn't hurt, it's already been over ten years without having one. God blesses us with the most amazing man who makes sure he blesses all and every one he touches. Randy has a heart of gold, cause when he was done, earlier than w thought. All we could do was cry and pray thanking God, Jesus for letting me make the right decision working with Randy (atlas monument) . There is not enough words or thank you for allbhe has done. God bless him for all he does and for the heart that you have giving him. This review is because Mr. Randy touched our hearts so much and I truly hope you will let Randy touch your heart to in your troubled time too. Jacksonville's municipal cemetery is in very good condition with several large shade trees…read moreoverseeing the many stone memorials throughout. I was not able to spot much as far as an order or organization of the layout, so you're going to be hunting around for the people you seek. Quite a lot of crowded areas with headstones upon headstones, nearly all of them intact and in good condition. Some of the smaller stones had only a single date. One of them had a toy, which likely indicates a baby and that made me sad. Several others with flowers and one with only four days between birth and death. Over 5 years since Robert Paul King passed so there is clearly a loving family here. Very sad. There is one short roadway that does not extend through the cemetery.
