Last I was told was they'd reach out to their director to see if our puppy could be seen in between a surgery tomorrow and here we are today no response back still and more blood in the stool. Went to academy animal hospital and found out she's got 9 parasites in her from being exposed to pretty much nasty environment. Fast forward 2 weeks later the puppy is healthy and gained weight. She's running playing and much happier. Go some where else trust me.

PetSmart Grooming Department Review:…read more We have a 10-month-old GSP. I've brought him in a few times in the past and have always had wonderful experiences. They told me he did amazing, and I left feeling confident and happy. Today was completely different. I booked with a groomer named Regina for a bath and brush with a nail grind add-on. We usually bathe him at home, but with the dry weather causing dandruff and a beach day full of sand, I decided to bring him in for a good cleaning. The appointment was supposed to be a 60-minute service. An hour and a half went by with no update. I called the grooming area and was told he was finishing kennel drying. I was extremely confused because I paid for the blower service. I asked if all his other services were done, and she confirmed yes -- he was just drying. I told her I would come in to get him, and I immediately felt off with the vibe on the phone. There was a little bit of pushback about me coming in while he was still drying. I paid at checkout and went back to get my dog. He was sitting there waiting. She asked if he looked good to me, and immediately I noticed a ton of shedding. I said out loud, "Wow, he must be stressed out given all this shedding," because this level of shedding only ever happens when we travel long distances. It has never happened with grooming before. It honestly looked like he wasn't brushed. She responded with, "He's definitely got GSP energy," completely straight-faced and without acknowledging what I said about him looking stressed or the excessive loose hair everywhere. As she was saying that, his back paw caught my eye. I focused on it and noticed the fur wasn't trimmed around the paw, and there was a red tint coming from his toe. I immediately knew it was blood. I looked at her and said, "Is that it?" She confirmed yes. I said thank you and walked out slightly upset with the lack of communication. I should have examined it right there, but I just wanted to get him outside because he was obviously distressed from the experience. Once I loaded him into the back of my car, I looked closer. His nail was still actively bleeding. This was over 30 minutes after the service had supposedly been completed while he was "drying." The quick was cut far back -- so far back that I could see the raw center inside of his nail. I felt awful. I trusted this groomer to take care of my dog, and that was not the case today. Nothing was said about the nail. Nothing was mentioned about how he did. No communication at all -- which is the complete opposite of every other experience I've had there. Accidents happen. I understand that. But not saying anything about it? Not acknowledging it? Letting me walk out without explaining that my dog's nail had been cut that far back and was bleeding? That is what upset me the most. The appointment ran late and was blamed on drying, but honestly it felt like they were waiting for the bleeding to stop so it would go unnoticed. I am extremely unhappy with this grooming session. I've had great experiences here before, but I do not recommend booking with Regina. The interaction felt cold, dismissive, and uncaring, and my dog left stressed and injured.

She brought us so many wonderful times till she sadly passed last week. We told them what type of second dog to keep Bonny comfortable we were looking for. They called us to recommend a fun little beagle named Fiona in 2020. Love at first site. The staff was very helpful and friendly. After 35 yrs of cats, they found us two great dogs. We`ll be returning now to have them help us find Fiona a much needed companion. It`s a tough and pretty thankless job they do. I commened and thenk them.

We were told upon visiting that preference for adoption is given to people that have previously adopted. Ok, fine, that's great. Publish that. Make that clear on all media used. It is not published anywhere on any of their media. I contacted them via Facebook. The shelter read my message and had no comment. If a previous adopter fills out and submits an application, the process should close immediately. It's cruel to give false hope to others.

They charged $63 for an exam, the puppy needs multiple shots but they have been adding fees for needles disposal and other erroneous charges. The vet was very rude to me and so were here staff. I was being friendly, smiling and trying to be social. They made me wear a mask while none of them did. The vet told me my puppy needs to be bathed. I just took him to the groomer. He is a puppy, he literally rolls in the yard and acts crazy. He has just rolled around before we went there. I groom my dogs regularly and treat them like babies. I am looking for a new vet now.

The first was "Mister", an incredibly sweet, miniature schnauzer with silver hair (just like mine), so we were inseparable for the rest of his years on earth. The next was "Nakey Jake", an amazing, two-year-old, Sphynx! He's my hairless fur baby who is loving, playful, and sassy. He's proud of his uniqueness, and loves to cuddle when I'm home from work. You'll notice that neither of mine had (or have) actual fur. Schnauzers have hair, and Sphynx have no fur. The SPCA staff and volunteers in Lenoir County are simply wonderful! They care for some very special animals who end up abandoned for some reason, and they keep their stress levels low while finding them the best homes. Adopt one today!
