One star is to many for this shop. I recently purchased a hat and two boogie boards there. After 15 min of using the boards one just fell apart. Basically the foam turned to mush and the fabric split. I had ordered a shirt there that they were out of when I purchased the boards and hat. the owner took my number and said he would text if they had it in my size at the warehouse. I returned that night to see if they would do anything about the board with the attitude that even if they didn't return it I could at least let the owner know that this particular product was inferior. the original sales girl was no longer at the counter and a high school age boy had taken her place. When I started to explain what had happened I was interrupted by this disrespectful young man and told I had just gotten that board from the back of their shop and was trying to return it. he also told me that they didn't even sell that board. Because I was not allowed to finish my sentence he never knew that I was also willing to accept the answer "NO" to my question of return, not given that respect to finish my sentence I immediately got upset as the boy was not only calling me a liar but also a thief trying to return something they didn't sell me. After going back and forth with this very disrespectful and arrogant young man, I told him I would be speaking with the owner later that evening as he was supposed to text me the shirts availability. later that evening I got a text from the owner and to my suprise he basically shut down any conversation about the incident and I quote his text "...I want u to know that I've never seen that brand in my store before, with that in mind , please know that my employees did exactly as instructed by me , in cases like this...." I returned his text by telling him exactly what his employee had said to me. no return reply. he did say he would give me another board. but as I told him I was willing to accept "no" as an answer and that I didn't need one. I was upset because of the way I was treated not because the board broke. returning the next day to purchase the shirt the original girl was at the register. I asked about the shirt and she said they were hanging in the back and offered to go get it. I told her I would and retrieved the shirt along with another I had found that was printed upside down. upon check out I showed another girl the upside down print and gave it to her so it wouldn't be on the rack. turned back the check out girl and asked her if she remembered me. My intentions were just to ask if she remembered selling me the boards I had been called a thief and liar on. but again I couldn't finish my sentence as the girl next to her immediately replied " yes, just let it go and leave!" again I was dumbfounded on just how disrespectful these kids were. the only person I encountered in that place that had any respect was the original check out girl. I paid for the shirt and walked outside to the pavilion where my wife and children we beginning to gather with their food from various places to eat. told my wife what the girl said to me and left. apparently the owner was out front doing inventory because as soon as I left the rude and disrespectful girl came out and told him "that was the guy" not knowing my wife was sitting there. the owner realized it was my wife as he was 10 feet from us when I left the store. he went inside and never came out to apologize or even check my side of the story. Coward is what he is. And here is the capper. after much thought I decided I couldn't in good conscience wear the shirt and support the store. so the following day I asked another adult that was vacationing with us if she would return it so not to stir up more trouble or be talked to like I didn't matter. they wouldn't let her return it. she could only for store credit. NO WHERE IN THE STORE IS IT POSTED NO RETURNS: THEY PUT IT ON YOUR RECIEPT AFTER YOU PAY FOR IT!!! THAT RIGHT THERE SAYS IT ALL ABOUT THE CHARACTER AND ETHICS OF THE OWNER!!!!!!! I ended up giving the shit to charity and spending my money at the Seaside shop across the street. a little more expensive but well worth the extra cost not to be talked down to or called a liar and a thief. the owner and the parents of those children should be ashamed of how they allow those kids to act. read more
