If this shop wasn't located where it is I can guarantee it wouldn't be in business. It's sad to say because I enjoy supporting local but after the experience my family and I had, I just can't support this local business. The young girls sitting behind the register are more interested in gossiping than assisting customers. If you ask for their assistance they look at you like deer in headlights then they point to the back of the store and go back to gossiping. It appears by the reviews that ownership is well aware of the lack of customer service and choose not to do anything about it. Suggestions to avoid this place- If you're looking for boogie boards or beach toys pick them up at the Publix on the way into town. Less expensive and more selection. If you're looking for beach attire there are tons of options in the city center within 1 min walk of this place. Very sad to say, but my family and I can't support this brick and mortar. Ownership really should make a change in staff or train them better. read more

I'm surprised by the negative reviews especially relating to mask wearing. It's hard to blame store owners for complying with local regulations. The store can be very busy, and I'm sure the staff sometimes feels overwhelmed. I think the store has a great selection of clothing for men and women. We always find something to purchase. I find the prices to be competitive. My kids love the Ono t-shirts. People from home always ask us to get them one. Ono is a must stop for us whenever we are staying on 30A!!! read more

Ono Surf is located along the 30A corridor in Seaside, Florida. They have a wide array of surfing brands and products but a limited selection of actual surfing equipment. However, it's not like the Gulf of Mexico is known for it's surfing. They had a small section of long boards, skim boards and boogie boards. They do have a few brands that I really like including Olukai and Sanuk footwear. Olukai flip flops are the absolute most comfortable flip flops I have found. They are not cheap but they will last you a while. I have a tendency to come into this shop every time we are on 30A. If you found this review to be useful, funny or cool, please let me know below. Took one step in the shop and they told us to put masks on so we had no problem putting it on. We all had our masks on and the rude ass lady with a very rude and mean tone told us repeatedly to put it over our nose and mouth even though we already had it on. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS SHOP. We are fine putting on masks to go in your shop, but to be so rude with a tone that is completely unacceptable when talking to customers. That lady was a straight up B***h!! read more

After dining on the patio close by, I decided to shop the sidewalk sale. I found some items I wanted to purchase, however, the sales clerk rudely shamed me for not wearing a mask. She told me not to enter the store and could not shop without a mask. I told her I wasn't planning on entering the store but would like to purchases a few items I found on the outside rack. She got more stern with me and said I could not make a purchase without a mask. I pretty sure there was a way to be more polite and still make a sale. I put my items back and left. I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

My wife and I have been shopping here for 15 years! We witnessed many angry customers in ONO and around seaside for the mask rules. What a shame to see such a great place made to look like a terrible shop during a time like this, the staff is helpful and kind, our hearts go out to all the employees in seaside having to endure the ignorance we witnessed yesterday. Went to Ono for Spring Break and watched the sales clerk yell at one of the customers, then kicked out a young boy that was sitting down waiting for his friend to find a shirt, and then another sales clerk yelled at us for trying bathing suit tops on over shirts after they refused to allow us to use the fitting room. Instead of politely and respectfully talking to any of us they were rude and disrespectful. Will NEVER shop there again. Too bad because they do have cute stuff. Kindness means more to me then an overpriced cute bathing suit top! read more

I am going to have to agree with the pervious reviewer. If you need something fast, then yes hit it up. Otherwise avoid as everything is expensive... and sometimes I think its pricier then the surf shops I hit up in Hawaii. read more

Unfortunately today I was mistaken for a teenager on Spring Break. I was RIDICULED in front of everyone in the store because my mask was not pinched over my nose. I am 35 and teach 2nd grade and teach and practice Covid prevention daily. I had over $200 in merchandise and put it back! She said "well good" to me. I left immediately.The girl behind the counter had a poor attitude and it was aggressive enough to write my first review of any kind ever No one... whether the are 95, 35, or 15 should be treated that way. I've been visiting Ono Surfshop for years - prices are fair & what you'd expect for a nice beach town. The clothing / accessory selection changes every year, so it's always fun to see what's new when we're there on vacation. This store doesn't even deserve one star. It is the most poorly ran business that I have ever encountered. The arrogant teenage staff accused my husband of stealing a boogie board that he was trying to return the same day he bought it because it had broken within 3 hours after purchase. Instead of listening to him explain the scenario they immediately said that it was not a brand they sold and that he had taken it from behind the shop and was trying to return it. Even after showing the receipt with the time and date the teenage boy named Connor still insisted that he took it from out back and brought it in unethically. The owner contacted my husband that evening only to apologize for the fact that my husband had been angry. No apologies on his behalf or his staffs. The next day when my husband returned to pick up his preordered shirt they continued to treat him as a criminal. Totally disgusting! There are many surf shops In the area that are kind, courteous, and respectful to the patrons. I would recommend visiting any other shops besides Ono surf shop. read more

I found the staff friendly and helpful, and prices were in line with 'other surf related' shops in the that area. I highly recommend stopping in for a look!
