If there were an option to give less than one star, I would. This was one of the worst experiences I've had with a bike shop. The staff were rude and not helpful at all, which made everything even more frustrating. We had three different bikes get flat tires, and instead of trying to help, they basically just shrugged it off and told us to deal with it. I proposed to my fiancé on the beach and we were looking for a place to celebrate. After walking in and out of a dead bar down the street we ended up at peddlers with live music and several alcohol stands. Independently, I went to the beer stand with father in law and the girls went to the mix drink stand, we mentioned we got engaged just an hour ago and I got a free celebration cigar and my fiancé got a free drink which was more than polite and much appreciated! After we asked for pricing, then went back within 5 minutes to rent two bikes for my granddaughters, the kid behind the counter said they were closed in a very smart mouth tone with the smirk to go with it. It was 4:15! We said, Hey your website says you close at 5. He yelled back he was closing early today. Caused two little girls to cry. The uncaring, rude boy running the place didn't care. In fact he seemed to enjoy the pain he was causing the children. No customer service available here. Just arrogance. Obvious they need more competition and better staffing. Take your money somewhere else. They don't need it. I would give zero stars if it was a choice. read more

Having rented bikes before, this was quite a different experience. In Key West, the company would send you a text message once the bike was delivered with a picture of the bike, where it was parked, and the combination to the lock. I had no idea where the bike was or whether it was delivered the 1st day. I called numerous times, no one ever answered, and I left messages. The following day someone called back to tell me where I could locate it and the combination. One of the girls in our group ordered one but there were so many bike racks around where we were staying that it took us 3 days to even find it in the sea of bikes. Also, the brakes on mine kept breaking when I would go over bumps, but again, no one answers the phone there so I just had to go very slowly. This experience has been a nightmare honestly. We got the bikes when we arrived Sunday afternoon. When our boys used them, they locked them as we were told, but one of the locks was coded wrong. We called at least 4 times without a response, I finally went down to the facility and the first person said he had no idea how it works. When we talked to someone else, they said sorry and would refund the cost. Well, they went to pick up the bike and took all 4 of the bikes instead of just the one. We were told we would be refunded for the cost but never were, and know it is two days past the time they were supposed to be picked up and they are still there. If you want a stress free rental, this is not the place. read more

Love that all the staff were wearing masks! My boyfriend and I were helped out quickly, and were with our bikes within 6 minutes. Instructions on the lock and returning the bikes were clear and easy to follow. The guys working are helpful and professional. My fiancé was offered a beer on our way out, too. One stop shop for bike rentals in Seacrest- right by Rosemary.. literally the best, central place to meet and hang out for all of Seacrest Beach local area in order to start your adventure. There's little restaurants surrounding it, live music on the weekends; and a cool little bar run by some AWESOME guys associated with Peddler's (definitely go there and patronize them!!). There was one guy named Chance who was definitely in charge of everything and making everyone happy with great service- solving any problems and just simply adding to everyone's vacation joy. Cole and Mason were major helpers as well- great staff all around. Norris (the owner) has done well with his crew. Kudos to him. Chance is the champ and I sincerely hope he is there every year we visit. He makes the place feel like "Cheers", you're local favorite bike shop and bar. We have been coming here for a decade and just now finally leaving a review, long overdue. Peddler's is the only place you HAVE to visit in the area. Website is not updated as they have it closes at 4 pm but when we arrived it said they closed at 2 pm. Thankfully we were not able to ride their bikes and give them our business. The area is so beautiful. Very family friendly and awesome. You can spend all your day boing for $15 only. It's incredible experience. The staff are very nice and helpful. The variety of bikes is great. You can bike close to the beach or inside the beautiful Spanish style town. Bike trails are everywhere. And there are shady bike trails you can enjoy. We came for a family vacation and were staying at the condos surrounding Peddlers location - so we thought it would be a convenient place to rent bikes dle our boys. Do NOT rent from them. On the very first night 2 out of our 3 PROPERLY locked up bikes (in the areas of the condo right outside the peddlers rental area in the bike storage location) disappeared. We spent the next few days looking for our locked up bikes - and were able to recover one! This cost us $428 that we had to pay. The bikes were locked up at the property - one of two possibilities exist it's a racket to rent them there then they disappear and every single bike they charge $428 for!! Or the teenagers screaming and running around are so out of control stealing items - you would think they would do something more to help and secure these items that essentially were stolen! This $428 had a huge effect on our trip and we would have never rented bikes from our complex had I known!!!! They absolutely didn't care - which makes me think this is a recurring thing with them. Crappy bike rental outfit. Employees acted like we were interrupting their day by renting bikes from them. Rented a total of seven bikes. Had to return two of them because the gears were rusted and wouldn't work properly. Two of the bikes had rear wheels that were bent and wobbled the entire ride. Lastly, the bike we had attached to a pull along cart had grips that kept coming off every time you had to pedal hard and about made the rider crash twice. Should have used Bamboo Bicycle Company like we did the last time we came down. read more

I would have given Peddlers 5 stars, until I had a very unfortunate experience with one of the owners. My husband and I came home from a long day at the beach and sat at the picnic tables to enjoy the live music. The place was packed, and a few groups of couples sitting at the tables told us we could scoot a picnic from their table so we could have a little bit of space from their group while still be able to sit down. (There were several people who had done this at the tables next to us) We moved the bench about 5 feet away. Within seconds the owner came and asked us to move it back. We apologized and told him we thought it was fine since several other parties were doing it. He told us we were "too young"and move it back immediately. We moved the bench but were so caught off guard by his reasoning of us being "young" (both of us being in our upper twenties) We moved the bench, and the other couples that originally offered the bench asked us what had happened. We started to explain and the owner then stood right next us, and stood there to make sure "we wouldn't move again". Everyone was so uncomfortable. The man then went and chit chatted with other couples ALL who also had moved benches which he did not seem to care at all. He specifically singled us out. I would understand if he just said "don't move the benches" but that was not the case. It was a bizarre and weird experience and to be honest very upsetting. read more

I've been renting from Peddlers for about four or five years. I am a 'local' and RoseMary Beach is the first stop (city) on 30A. The young kids who are usually working at Peddlers are mostly polite and respectful. This last experience, there was an older gentlemen who was attempting to help out... . He (older man) seemed pre-occupied and angry and had a smarty-pants attitude.... oh well, we rented two bikes --- and two baskets (baskets are now an additional $5.00 - really??).... and paid over $100.00 for two hours (they don't rent by the hour). The rate went up from previous years from $36.00 to $40.00 + $5.00 for a basket. Always treat your guests (whether local or visiting) with respect and friendliness. After all, this is your business. Upon our return, we needed to use the facilities but were told the bathroom was for employees only (years past, they had provided the code so we could use the restroom). He then told us to use' the other bathroom' - but he didn't know the code... LOL... This place lost my business.. and from now on I will be renting from the place that is referred to as The HUB. read more

Peddler's is a cute little outdoor bike business for tooling around Rosemary, Alys Beach, and all the other cluster beaches in the surrounding area. My daughter really wanted to bike, so off we went to check it out. They have all different sizes of bikes, some with trainers for the little ones. Mine can ride a bike without trainers, but with all the traffic of walkers, cars, and other bikers, she felt more comfortable with an extra set of wheels. Regardless of being a child or adult, the general fee is $20/day or you can pay a weekly fee for cheaper rental. They also offer baskets for your bike for an additional $1 a day. They give you a lock to take with you, so you can chain your bike if you stop somewhere and need to park it. This area is very bike-friendly. Tons of people on them, so I'd say to make sure you get there early, because my daughter secured the last type of bike they had left. It's kind of a not-so-smooth process. You stand in line, and then have to fill out a form online. Then you go select your bike. Then you get in another line, and you pay for your bike. It took a while, because I was there later in the day. But it's all worth it to put a smile on my child's face. Oh, and you can get a glass of wine as you're checking out too. Slick. read more

We have been visiting Rosemary Beach for the past 7 years. It is truly our favorite place to go. My wife loves it and my kids love it...so I'm required to love it...and I do. I was finishing up a run one morning last week at Rosemary. I stopped by Peddler's to ask a quick question. I had a flat tire on our bike we brought from Texas and needed it repaired. It looked like they were starting the day and I saw a Peddler's employee outside unlocking tethered bikes. He had a big straw hat on. I said "good morning" and simply asked if they repaired bikes. Without ever looking up he said "depends on the repair". I said it was a flat tire and his responded "yep". Again, he was clearly annoyed that someone was asking a question. I asked how much and he said $20. Honestly, I would have paid the $20 if I thought for a second this young man or Peddler's actually wanted my business. Instead I later walked my bike a quarter mile past Peddler's to get the guys at Alys Beach to fix the flat. They were kind, funny, and happy to help. And, it cost me $11. I hate leaving reviews less than 4 stars but this guy at Peddler's left a lot to be desired. I say go down to Alys and rent or repair your bike from a friendlier group. read more

I love that they don't charge extra for helmets and they let us try a few bikes before deciding on our family set up. Great service! They set up the seats and even gave us optional baskets which are real handy to have. We got the weekly rate of $60. It was worth it. We biked every day including to breakfast and lunch at Donut Hole and Shades. They gave us 2 locks for 4 bikes which is fine. They actually set the combination to match the last 4 digits of your phone number. That is so cool!! Have to admit, the bikes took us a while to get used to. We are used to pedaling backwards and handbrakes. All bike have foot brakes. Also we werent used to the wide handle bars. But after a day of riding, it was all good!!! All bikes at these rental places are practically the same. read more

Not the kindest staff and difficult to work with. They've definitely forgotten that they're not the only shop on 30a.

Called in advance in order to reserve bicycles and was told that there was no point and a stupid idea to reserve them over the phone if I was on the way. Staff was rude as if we interrupted their day by calling to speed up the rental and check out process. The staff did not think it was important to tell us that the hours of operation changed and that the website did not show the correct closing time which was updated to 2:00 pm. Keep in mind that we called at 1:00pm and informed them that our drive was approximately 45 minutes. Once we arrived we could not find the staff for about 5 minutes because they were in the back of one of the various shacks that they tend where they had some personal friends over. Once we told them we were there to rent bikes, the two employees acted is if it was a chore to speak to us like we were interrupting. They walked over to the shack designated for bike rentals which had a sign that was taped over with a new closing time of 2 pm. I asked what time they closed to confirm and was told that they closed at 2 pm. I am never returning here. The rude staff act as if they are speaking to someone beneath them and being bothered. They are incompetent, rude, and shallow. This place lacks the basic necessities of a business like communication, customer service, and a proper structure. I will always look at peddlers as a reason not to bring my business to 30A. read more

we have always rented our bikes from this vendor and I've always had a great experience... They have always been courteous and knowledgeable and we have never had any issues with our rentals... This year we had three bikes stolen and we recover to on our own but I had to pay $375 for the missing one... I was told if the bike was recovered That I would be reimbursed and I am hoping to hear good news as it has been a week and a half and I know several friends that also had theirs stolen that were recovered. read more

2 stars for the few young adults that cared to help. The rest of the staff couldn't care less, and had absolutely ridiculous terrible attitudes. One example of three in a one week period, we picked up a bike at 8am and the mgr on staff had an uncut song blasting on the courtyard sound system appropriate for a late night club...I asked the guy to stop or change the music since our young kids were standing there (and it was 8am in a family venue) and he rolled his eyes and stopped. The young lady employee next to us turned to him and complained that "all they ever want played is Christian music." Don't really care what the genre is (and didn't ask for anything else to be played, or any genre at all) but feel like it's a reasonable ask to play something that's somewhat appropriate for young kids. I'm sure this review won't matter since most people will rent from them anyway. Go somewhere else if you can, there are other options until the mgmt can get a handle on the attitude and service standards of their staff. read more

This place was handy for picking up bikes for a couple days. The prices were probably similar to others in the area. The bikes were in good condition the whole time we rented them. One thing that really stood out was the horrible snobby attitudes encountered from EVERY employee we came in contact with! You definitively get the impression they don't care because people will rent from them whether they're friendly or not due to their convenient location! When we first picked up our bikes we overheard them making offensive comments about a customer who had a problem with the way his bike handled.
