I bought 8 yoga classes from half off depot using a coupon. The class is very small, there are only 3-10 students in each class, so you get a lot of individual attention, and the instructors will correct your form very often. I first tried out aerial yoga, which was a huge mistake, it is too difficult for me. So after that I took their most basic class, great experience and relaxing atmosphere. All the instructors are super knowledgeable. Tip: bring enough water with you. Tip2: you can buy vouchers from half off depot and sign up for their mailing list and you will receive discounts in your email. read more

In December of 2012 I was in a bad state. I had my first child in July and had decided to be a stay at home mom for awhile. I was gaining weight and becoming less productive. Moreover, I was sinking into a post-partum depression that everyone else but me could see. My friend told me about John Meredith and this studio. She said he was "quirky" and not for everyone but that I should take a private with him and see what I thought. I knew I wanted something physical to do but that also had a mental and emotional aspect to it. I had gone to a couple classes over the years and found the whole yoga culture to be intimidating-- the skinny chicks, the clothing, the language and the elitist smug attitudes that seemed so prevalent in studios. This place was different from the start. My friend said to email John and tell him about me and what I wanted. That was what he wanted. I know now it was to see if we would be a good fit and that most importantly I would find what I was looking for. So I went and met with him in December- slightly terrified, overweight but ready to drop my inhibitions. We spent 45 minutes just talking. He asked a lot of questions about all sorts of things. It was alarming and at the same time I had a great appreciation for the time he was taking to "see" me. I then realized I was going to be working very hard. I continued to see John privately and then added classes twice a week when I could. I got into great shape for me both physically and mentally. I got pregnant with my second child in the Spring of 2013 and continued with John all the way up until 48 hours before delivery. He tailored my practice, always put my safety first and was a coach. It was the best thing I could do for me, my baby and my family. My little girl was born 11 weeks ago and the minute the doc cleared me I was back with John. I plan to start class work again soon. The studio is clean, open and full of good energy. Be prepared to work hard and sweat. I have read reviews about the beginner class being hard-- it is! But if you are focused and ready to be present, they always offer modifications for all levels. I found fellow students to be kind, curious and encouraging. It is not the smug experiences of my past. John is a perfectionist who expects that when you come to his studio, you are there to work, focus and be mindful. He will push you. If you are looking to learn yoga or deepen your practice -- this is the place to go. read more

Great place if you are a beginner or an advanced yoga master. The instructors are very good about explaining the poses and walk through the class helping folks stretch even further or correcting poses. I had never practiced ashtanga before I tried this studio and my first class was the uncued primary series on Saturday morning which was nuts...but still so good. New folks- definitely read the class descriptions because while you can certainly get through any of them, if you're new to ashtanga it's nice to start with the basics classes. I LOVE Marie. All of the instructors are wonderful and skilled and very hands on, but Marie is just super. Her classes border on torture for your abs and shoulders but I keep going back. She's tough but you feel great at the end of the class. So now I've learned to love ashtanga and I think they've spoiled me here for other studios. Everyone is just so sweet and welcoming. This is such a magical place filled with such amazing people its hard to put into words how much it has meant to me. Onlyoga is a community, a family, and some really challenging yoga! I would not have gotten as deep in my practice without the amazing teachers at this studio. Classes are small and i've never gotten such good adjustments anywhere as I have here. Even if you're just a beginner this place will welcome you with open arms. Anne Marie is the most considerate, thoughtful person and she has guided be through difficult times both on and off the mat, and her core workouts always pushed me to my edge(in a good way)! I just moved away from Atlanta to LA and I miss this place and these people every day. Loved this place. I think our instructors name was Laura and she was fantastic. She was helpful and challenging at the same time. This place is in a high rise and midtown and you would never know it existed. It's kind of a cool loft/apartment. They have big windows at the front of the unit looking into a big tree, down onto Peachtree. Definitely one of my favorite yoga joints in town. Will definitely go back. Excellent studio to either begin or deepen your practice. I've been searching ATL and nothing has been quite right until I found OnlYoga - even though I'm not strictly an Ashtanga practitioner (I have studied and practiced aspects of it along with a different teacher certifcation), I really enjoyed the other classes offered. The teachers are terrific and teach a balanced, safe class. It's easy to get comfortable being in one place (physically and mentally) with your practice so it's definitely an advantage to try new things and actually 'work' at it. Just know your own limits. Tracy's 'Friday Flow' class was super. Finally an instructor who isn't afraid to actually 'instruct' by observing what you are doing and making necessary modifications not only verbally but also by adjusting you as appropriate. This is so important in yoga and no one seems to be doing it anymore (I wonder if I'm just more aware of this having recently moved back to the States after being abroad, but it is crucial to having a safe practice). The owner John makes sure to make each individual feel they are part of the community he has created. When you take a yoga class here you leave with much more than you expect. There is a depth in his method that must be felt to be understood. I highly recommend taking any class here, but specifically John's. There is something greater going on here. The setting is upstairs in a studio. When you enter there is the smell of incense always and music. It is a small yet well organized room with nostalgic wood floors. There is one wall with many windows encased in brick. It reminds me of something you would see in N.Y. I always love the colorful lights that are turned on for class. They are calming when they slowly fade from one color to the next. Art covers the walls, but not overwhelmingly. Just enough for color and contrast. There is a book case with many books and seating. I recommend reading some of those books. (Great collection) This studio is a little slice of heaven truly! read more

Excellent studio. I am not a huge fan of Ashtanga yoga, i enjoy a more gentle style. BUT, John Merideth really knows his stuff. I have only been to this studio a few times, but he pays attention. I feel like he knows my practice just from the few times i have been there. I have heard other teachers say that John has a big ego. LOL. They say this as if they, themselves do not. Most teachers who practice no meditation have huge egos. That is the result of just practicing asana and no pranayama or meditation. I honestly think they are jealous of John's knowledge and integrity. He does not kiss butt trying to get students. He offers what he knows and he does it very well. I honestly do not care for the other teachers here, though. There was one time i came to take John's class and there was a sub. And i hated it. It did not have the love, the care, the respect for the students that John has. John Meredith is amazing and i want people to know that. read more

I've taken yoga classes in LA, MIA, NYC, Berlin, and elsewhere. It's an individual journey. It is not about external appearance (which is why many yoga studios don't have mirrors). I was really disappointed with the Owner/Instructor John Meredith and his use of BODY SHAMING in class. It's one thing to correct form, to make adjustments, etc but to shame people's bodies is not in the spirit of AHIMSA. I saw him poke at the flab on a person's body, criticize said person for being unable to maintain the posture & say that if they didn't want the flab they had to maintain posture. That's NOT what yoga is about. I wondered if he would go around the room and critique each participant's body individually. He didn't do so and he didn't need to do so. His students trust him with their bodies and he wields a lot of influence over them. In isolating and body shaming one, he effectively does so to all. This can cause negative, self-critical thoughts and actions (and it can get people hurt in a yoga studio). I'm embarrassed that this was called yoga and associated with ahimsa (A principle of yoga - abstention from harm). For this reason, I can't recommend the studio. I hope it was an aberration but even once is one time too many. There are plenty of other great studios that teach great ashtanga-vinyasa in the Sri Pattabhi Jois method sans body shaming so I see no need to comment on the rest of the class. Namaste. read more

I bought a groupon for this practice and I'm glad I got to try it out before deciding on a pricey membership. However, I really liked John, the main teacher and even the student teachers are ok. I went to a couple of the basic classes and the last one I went to, it had been expired unknown to me, but they let me into their advanced stage 2 class and it was pretty challenging. I was going along with everything until the headstands... Anyways, the location is good, the ambiance is good, the teacher is awesome. They seem to have a lot of deals for classes so be on the lookout for those. I wish they would post the sales online or something, but I would definitely consider getting an unlimited membership. Everyone there seems to be pretty chummy and coming there for years because it's a homey feeling even though I'm the type to take a class and dip. They do have community mats if you don't like lugging a mat around like or you simply don't have one. Mostly, I go to a class for the instruction and there's is to the point, sometimes just a touch here or there or John might challenge you so your legs are shaking. Anyways, good workout. read more
