DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STOREWorst Experience I have ever had. Scammed me 500+ $$. I am trying to buy a sony 70-350 but what they actually sold me is a sony 75-300. And the price is way higher than it should be. (4x) I have alrady contacted with my bank and lawyer and I will keep this review updated. I am also going to sue them. For anyone who has been scammed like me, you could establish a connection with me by calling me at 415-216-7453. EDIT: I even asked them if this is a G lens , and they said yes. I am also glad that I made some recording. And they actually removed me from the store. read more

I went to this store to ask for the price of a wide angle lens . The man who served me got upset when I said I did not want to buy it now but just wanted prices . He then surprisingly brought the price down from 1499.00 usd to 399 usd . I said that was suspicious because it was a huge drop . He then told me to get out . When I said he was rude . He followed me out of the store and said " fuck you bitch" . I said excuse me . He said get out , fuck you. My advice to anyone - don't buy a thing from this store . I fear their goods are stolen and they are rude and try to sell their things by threatening you . read more

Imagine a online eBay scammer having real life shop? Yeah well if you can't you should visit this place. They don't know shit about lenses. They will sell super cheap material for 5X the price. If you don't buy into their scam they will start being arrogant with you and ask you to leave. read more

Be careful! Aggressive salesmanship. Deceptive techniques. They saw my DSLR and pulled me off the street and into the shop with 'just the thing for you' an HD Wide Angle Lens extender supposedly retailing at $999. After several reluctant NOs the final price - $179! FLIM FLAM!!! I braved the guilt trips and walked away with my head high. Helpless, gullible old woman, my ass! read more

On 6/28/14 while visiting San Francisco, I made the misfortunate error of stepping into this shop to purchase lense cleaner for my camera. What transpired next was an ordeal of epic portions which concluded in my favor on 9/8/14. I strongly caution anyone from entering this store, in fact, cross the street! I am appalled that this place remains in business due to their hard sell tactics selling misrepresented merchandise valued at a fraction of the real cost. Protect yourself and do not cross the threshold of this scam of a business. Be sure to READ ALL the reviews that Yelp does NOT recommend on this business. You will save yourself a boat load of trouble and cash! read more

I found this a complete scam of a store. In fact, they all are on the water front - this one specifically is the worst. I went to two previous stores looking for basic information on a wide angle lens and they both were complete jerks so I left. Was quite taken aback so figured - let's try this place - can't seriously hit 3 for 3. Well - that's exactly what happened. The initial staff member was great. He was extremely helpful, however the prices were double what I was expecting back in Canada which I felt was very odd. Then, he put one lens on my camera and it was not a 'true' wide angle - it distorted the image - yet this was over $900? They showed me another product for $500 which was an Axes screw on lens thing - which was just as bad. I suggested I wanted to do some research and another guy came over and tried to take over the 'sales' thing. He was incredibly rude to his staff and then wanted to show me online the 'online advertised' price - it was over $600 - he then said he would sell it for $390. I continued to suggest I would like to do some research and he got extremely mad and rude, told me I was wasting his time and basically kicked us out of his store. I could not believe it. I got back to my hotel and did some research on these screw on wide angle lens things and found them starting around $25.00 - and with very poor reviews as they are basically a magnifying glass over your lens - pure junk. Clearly - this is just a scam from the very beginning. I highly recommend you avoid these stores. They are out to scam you. read more

Regretfully there is no option for a zero star. I can not believe the experience my friends and I had today at this store. We walked in to buy a selfie stick, one of my friends asked if there was a click button on the selfie stick, the guy working there answered and said " it's not my problem you can not read you stupid bitch" we were shocked and she just told him you are so rude I was just asking a simple question. He continued to curse us out using the F work and foul language. We just walked out. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Do not support their business. read more

Can I give less than a 1 star rating. Out of desperation I needed a memory card as I snapped mine. Checked the price on amazon afterwards... I paid over $30 for a $5 SD card. Absolute scum this outfit. read more

Scam, scam, SCAM! These guys sell $30 lenses for over $1000 and throw-in add ons they say are free and charge 10 times the value for those too. They use a fake website to convince you the lens you're buying is really a $1600 lens when in truth it's only $30 bucks. I called the police, no luck. I called my credit card company, no help. I tried to return it, denied. Do not even stop here. These people should be in jail. read more

Absolute SCAM. I was an idiot who fell into their deceptive demo of a really cheap extender and paid at a ridiculous overprice! They showed a (fake?) web site where the extender is priced in Euros at stratospheric prices. They even put additional stuff for you over the counter to create a bundle + discount offer that looks like a great deal if as me, you don't have internet access in your cell outside of your home country and are then, unable to do your own research. Shocked to learn how many reports they have in the Better Business Bureau and yet they're still on business. Check also the RipOff Report to learn more about these gangsters. Door man at the hotel knows of these scams (as I assume everybody working in the Waterfront) but nobody would warn tourists of this huge SCAM! read more

BEWARE!!!! If I could give this place zero or negative stars, I would. Just like the others say, these guys are complete SCAM artists. My mom walked in for a $10 cleaning kit for her camera and next thing I know I turn around and they are showing her an HD wide lens for her Nikon camera. They bring up a fake website where it shows a price of $1,500 but there she can get it for $820. What a bargin! Then they start "throwing in" other random "$50 filters" to sweeten the deal. Despite my suggestions that we should think about it (i.e. do some research) my mom takes the bait and I stand by helplessly as they run her card. Later on that night, she pulls out the handwritten receipt looks it all up online. The HD wide lens is being sold by private parties on Amazon for roughly $120-150, the majority of the reviews are horrible and (interestingly enough) many of them mention the scam!!! See it here: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Professional-Series-48x58mm-Deluxe/dp/B001PNSG2K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404166839&sr=8-1&keywords=axer+L+lens So she then looks up the other two "$50 filters" they threw in and they retailed for $3.99 and $8. Essentially, she paid $820 for items "worth" roughly $160. We went back the next day to return the sale and (not surprisingly) after 10 mins of back and forth, they still refused to return any of it. LUCKILY, she paid with a credit card. We left the merchandise on the counter and contacted her credit card company on the way out. Moral of the story - if it's too good to be true, it probably is! Oh and protect yourself by paying with a credit card! The dispute/resolution centers within AMEX, Citibank, etc are really good when it comes to reversing a transaction with an uncooperative merchant. read more

Not gonna lie, I fell for his BS sales speech and bought the Digital Pro HD series. It's a total scam. He started the price at 799, and I as a gullible idiot bought it for 200 thinking I was getting some smashing deal because even the way he presented the lens tricky tricky. It says Made in Japan on the box - well guess what... IT'S NOT MADE IN JAPAN. Should have done more research, but I didn't because I wanted to buy it 1 year ago, and I did my research 1 year ago and 1 year ago it didn't have bad reviews on Yelp OR Amazon, but now it does. SHOULD HAVE done a follow-up review but now it is just a sunk cost. Cheers to another bad review. Here is the link to the Amazon reviews. http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Professional-Series-48x58mm-Deluxe/dp/B001PNSG2K IF YOU SEE THAT BOX, DO NOT BUY IT. BUYERS BEWARE. I was ripped off here ...shame on me. i bought a certain lens at what I believed was a well discounted price. Again, shame on me. I was rope-a-doped like a naive little schoolboy. It was an impulse buy that seemed to solve a certain photo need. I get the lens home and put it on my Nikon D90 and it looks nothing like how it took a pic on the store's D90. Having done now what I should have done yesterday I read clearly all over the 'net that I was bulldogged using a fake rip-off site. I have avoided buying anything from any of those tourist traps because of the obvious. I just lost my head and forked over nearly $400 for a real rip-off. I really did think I made myself a good buy on a useful piece of camera gear ... like I said, shame on me. Of course returns are not possible. Exchanges are though after a 25% restocking fee. Accusing those guys of the obvious rip-off produced nothing but disregard. Let the buyer beware of those guys. It's my fault - it was my poor judgement and I am stuck with an expensive paperweight to remind me of a moments' insanity. What bothers me even more is thinking about how many tourists are ripped off by these guys. I am calling it TOURIST TERRORISM ... seems like our city should do more to protect our valuable tourist industry. I will be giving this info to the district attorney ... perhaps a little light can be shined on those TOURIST TERRORISTS. I'll contact the bank and try to stop a debit card payment ... another stupid thing that I did...use a credit card for purchases of this kind. A couple of hours after I first posted this review I returned to the store and got a refund in full from the guy who sold me the piece. He was pissed but I spoke clearly to him on the phone before I stopped in. Avoid these TOURIST TERRORISTS. read more

This store ripped me off for $700. They sell over priced products and over-priced scam products. They will try and sell you an Axer lens for $600 (discounted from $1200) when in fact it's nothing more than a rebranded $20 lens adapter. Some credit card companies will protect you. MBNA (Virgin Atlantic) will not protect you at all. This is a complete scam store, as are all the camera shops along Fisherman's Wharf. read more

I wanted, so bad, to be happy with my experience here. It looks like mine was right on par with these jokers. They sold us a VERY overpriced lens filter THAT JUST PLAIN doesn't work and we not allowed to try it at the store. Hmmmm. We called and explained that we don'd want a refund, just for them to send us one that works. ( we were visiting and live out of state otherwise we'd visit directly). We were told simply "Check your receipt, no refunds" and were promptly hung up on. This happened several times. We have reported them to the BBB, we will be disputing the charge, and I would warn anyone not to do business with these smooth talking, con artists. read more

STAY AWAY! This outfit preys on tourists hoping to do a high-pressure sales job for inferior camera accessories at inflated prices, all the while using fake websites to show they are offering a great deal. I fell victim to them, even though I'm pretty savvy about scam artists. They're really good at what they do. Do not even enter the store or speak to any of their sidewalk agents. If you do, you'll be sorry - trust me. I learned a $300 lesson about scamming. The only positive I can think of is that if these a-holes weren't scamming on Fisherman's Wharf, they would be selling drugs to kids on schoolyards. I can't believe the city of San Francisco lets outfits like this operate. They give the city a black eye. If you want camera accessories, use B&H or other such reputable vendors. Put these guys out of business. Don't even buy trinkets there. There are many other stores around the Wharf with good prices. BUYER BEWARE! I visited this store on my vacation and was accosted by one of the people working. He was a VERY agressive and accomplished sales person. I wound up buying a poloriad filter and a wideangle adapter for my zoom telephoto lens. I called him and he would not return any money. The adapter's manufacturer was not to be found anywhere. Please do not patronize this store. read more

Do not enter or buy anything from this shop! I was in San Francisco for 2 days of my holiday and my visit into this rip off shop has left a very negative lasting memory of what one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Beware - these guys will rip you off!!! I initially purchased a wide angle adaptor for $150 US - which was supposedly reduced from $350. After a few days of shots I was reviewing my photos (of Yosemite) and realised the pictures were all blurry everywhere except in the centre of the photos. On top of this I realised the lens had a bad scratch which cased light to catch it and spoil my photos. On my way out of the US I went back to Online Camera Gallery and was told they would not give me refund. They told me to get out or there would be trouble - and things looked like they might get nasty. In the end I was forced to accept other items - or keep the scratched useless lens adaptor. In the end for my $150 I was given a Dane Elec micro SD card 8GB with Adaptor (for $100 - I still have the receipt and it retails at Walmart for $19.99)! and a crappy UV filter for $49. Please do not enter this shop and warn all travellers and camera shoppers to avoid this shop like the plague. Regards, John read more

Stopped in here for a charger for my Canon T3i since I didn't pack mine for this trip and my battery was nearly dead with two days left to spare. I knew I would get ripped off on the Wharf but felt in a bind and it was right there at around 9 pm, so I went in anyway. Standard off-brand LP-E8 charger was $75 after tax and I shelled it out despite it being 2-3x the cost it's actually worth. Pretty ticked off but can't do anything now. There's a price sticker on the box that says it retails for $149.99 which is complete nonsense. I could've found elsewhere away from the tourist trap and gotten it for half what I paid. Then the dude was asking if I wanted to see lenses despite me making it clear I knew exactly what I came looking for. Don't go here for even the most basic accessories. read more

BEWARE!!! Reaching the end of my week in San Francisco - shopped in this store for postcards & other trinkets. Since I was carrying my digital camera, one salesperson showed me the wide angle lens that would eliminate my need for always switching lenses. Got home & purchased lens through my local camera shop - $10 (YES, ten dollars)! read more

Was offered a good price on Canon600D (425$), but fell for bait and switch :-(. The salesman demonstrated pictures with and without a certain converter lense (digital advance 58 to 48mm w macro). Supposedly this lense was worth alot more than the whole camera (at 1499$). I was offered a special price of 1499 for both camera and lense. I said no, price lowered to 1199, no again, lowered to 999. This time I took the bait. I knew too little. Enough to know that optics can be very expensive for cameras, but too little to know what kind of optics. He showed price point of this lense at different online shops both in europe and in us. I thought I made a great deal, but researching it I found that the sites are bogus, and a converter lense like this is worth 20$-50$. I feel violated, the deception was very well thought out. read more

These jokers tried to get me. I was chilling and I had my dads camera. It's a Canon DSLR and it's high end. They stopped me out and said they had an awesome lens for it and I should check it out. It was for more than $800 but they were going to sell it to me for cheap. They kept going down and down on the price and I didn't buy it because I knew it wasn't good I know about camera lenses and it was bad quality. I take photography at school so they tried to screw the wrong guy and and I didn't buy it. First they said it was $800 and then down lower to $600 and the lower to $400 and then lower. It was just a scam. So I am making my complaint not because I buy it from them but because I could see first that it was a ripoff. When I didn't buy from them they were rude and not professional anymore. Also, don't buy any parts from these other jokers www.camerasandparts.com They sold me a battery door for $20 and I put it on and it worked. Then I put my camera away for a year on the shelf and I didn't use it. Then a year later I go to use it and the battery door broke on the hinge. I called them and they wouldn't help me because it was a year later and the part was only guaranteed for 90 days. But I didn't use the camera maybe I used it once and then it was on the shelf and that's the part they don't get. They even tried telling me I probably installed it wrong in the first place and that's why it broke. I take photography at college, I think I know how to put the part on right. It's a simple part to put on and you don't even have to take the camera apart to put it on. I even shoot with DSLR Canon and Nikons. So don't buy any parts from Cameras and Parts in El Paso Texas and don't buy anything from Online Camera Gallery in San Francisco California. I even found the lens that Online Camera Gallery was going to sell me online. It's $10 and they said $800. Don't buy from either of these places. read more

I found myself in this store not because of the cameras and lenses they try hard so hard to sell, but because of the cheap knick knacks they offer. I was looking for a couple of souvenirs to bring back to some friends back at home and this store had a vast amount of trinkets. I had been walking up and down the wharf and found that the prices here are a lot lower than all the other places I checked out. Shot glasses for $1.99? I'm in! Just watch out. As with all shot glasses they're made in China so the craftsmanship isn't exactly the best. One of the glasses I brought back was pretty much destroyed because while pulling off the price tag it ripped off part of the design on the cup as well. My suggestion? Make sure the items you're purchasing here don't have tags on top of the designs and you'll be good to go! Judging by the other reviews you'll do best to stay away from buying anything relating to cameras there. read more

They told me that both had a lifetime warrantee, and I could return them anytime. Within 48 hours I decided I didn't like the product and went down to return it with my receipt. They refused to accept my return, saying all sales are final. I ended up leaving the merchandise on their counter and left. I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO!!!! WE WERE SCAMMED HERE BY JUAN AND TONY, BUT BEWARE OF ANYONE WHO APPROACHES YOU ON THE SREET AND LURES YOU IN TO THIS STORE!! SCAM, SCAM, AND MORE SCAMMERS!!!! I only entered this store for a few souvenir magnets to take home to Denver, but my husband was accosted by Juan because he was carrying a large Nikon camera bag- and we both fell prey to his HUGE SCAM!!! He showed us a fake website that had a picture of many different Nikon camera lenses, but one in particular that was listing for $1,500. HE could give it to us for the BARGAIN price of $450, after doing his demonstration. He also brought out a few filters that he claimed he would "throw in" with our purchase, and we fell into his TRAP!!! After finding out later that same night that his fake website had no contact information, we knew we had been had, and I called my credit card company IMMEDIATELY to file a dispute. We tried to return the merchandise the following day, but they REFUSED to accept it. A dispute with US Bank for a fraud charge did not go well because of Online Camera Gallery's supposed "No Refunds" policy, despite my claims of being completely scammed with fraudulent information ad a website that was completely fake!! We lost to these scammers, and the $450 charge was put back on our credit card again!!!! THE CITY OF SAN FRNCISCO SHOULD CLOSE THIS BUSINESS DOWN IMMEDIATELY FOR FRAUD!!! I was doing more research into this and came upon all of these other reviews of people who were scammed, and now I am going to a higher level with my bank, since Citibank and American Express WOULD NEVER have re-charged me for this!!! I should have used one of their cards, holding several accounts with both companies!!!! CONSUMERS BEWARE OF THIS SHOP AND STEER WAY CLEAR OF IT!!!! read more

I got the same scam on the wide angle lens. The lens I originally purchased was clearly used. The box had been opened and the lens was not working properly. I immediately went back to the merchant and demanded a full refund. He refused to exchange the product or give me a full refund, and instead deducted $150 from the original purchase price, which was about $650. This is for a lens that retails for $150, if it is new, and even less if purchased online. So I was charged $425 for a lens that was used and available at a nearby store $150. When I told the merchant this, he refused to go to the nearby store so that I could prove to him that new lens is $300 less than what he was charging me. Instead, he pulled up a fake website on his phone showing the lens for sale at $650. I tried to use the lens a few times, and it fell apart as I was cleaning it. I took it back to the merchant and he became angry and violent, and even shattered a display case by slamming his fist down. He threatened me and refused to refund me. STAY AWAY. read more
