I would warn folks that it is very tight navigating in places-- I am petite and still felt a little claustrophobic. A lot of that is likely the crowds on sale day, but isles are narrow and there are a few places where you can get "trapped" if other customers don't see you standing behind. I absolutely love stationary, and this place scratched my letter-writing itch. I ended up picking out a couple of sets of cards + envelopes to add to my collection. These are BEAUTIFUL and well made. Prices were reasonable, and the clearance items were an absolute steal. The staff were super friendly and attentive and they seemed to be doing a good job keeping everything in order even though there were a lot of people here.

I took 12 dessert plates to get refired after I did some touch-ups. The check in process was fine…read moreand the employee was friendly. When my plates were "ready" I got a call telling me that two of the plates had slipped during firing and one of the plates had a little piece chipped out of it. There was no offer to fix this, no offer of solutions. The person I spoke with took no responsibility for this, saying this is just something that happens. I went back to Georgie's with my little bottle of paint and my paint brush, bought glue from them (I was really surprised that they wouldn't provide the dab of glue that I needed, but insisted I purchase a bottle of glue) and sat my car and touched up the six plates that needed touching up, not just two. I took the plates I touched up back in the store and when I came back to pick them up they looked worse than they did when I brought them in. The paint was mottled and smeared and a couple of the plates have smudges on them that weren't before. Of course, no one took responsibility for this. If I had signed something that told me that nothing was guaranteed, that I need to accept what I get, then I would have different feelings about this. But it is unusual for a business to ruin something and take no responsibility for it.

The exhibit thoughtfully showcased pieces from her early years, detailed maps of her sci-fi worlds, her actual typewriter, video footage from a Q&A session, and artwork inspired by her writing. One of the most memorable features was a giant "tree" display filled with her books where visitors could actually sit down and read -- such a creative and inviting touch. Admission was free, with donations accepted, which makes this an easy and worthwhile stop for anyone even remotely interested in literature, art, or science fiction. The space itself is stunning and clearly designed with art exhibitions in mind. The location is also convenient -- just down the road is Denver Ave with several restaurants if you want to grab a bite before or after your visit. Parking is limited, but there is some street parking available nearby. They also have a small gift shop, gender-neutral restrooms, and very friendly staff who made the experience even more welcoming. Overall, a thoughtfully designed and inspiring exhibit in a lovely space. Highly recommended.
