If you've ever driven up the 14 to Mojave I'm sure you've noticed that store on the corner with all of the sexy dresses on mannequins in front. Well this place is right across the street! Anyway I stopped here one time to grab a snack and wow, my mind was blown! You can't tell from the outside but the inside looks pretty new they must have done a full renovation recently. They have a krispy krunchy chicken kiosk right inside the store, and a full on seating area and restaurant that serves made to order pizzas. I've never gotten a pizza, but I've gotten the fried chicken many times and it is delicious! I can't speak for every day as I only come on Sunday evenings on my way back from Mammoth, but every time I've had the chicken it's always really fresh and crispy so they must be cooking it pretty regularly on Sundays. With that said, make sure you pick the pieces that look fresher, I've had hit or miss luck with the potato wedges and biscuits. Both are bomb when fresh, but I've had days where it's stale and tastes like it's been sitting under the heat lamp for awhile. If you're not trying to eat chicken though, the selection of snacks and drinks is HUGE. Much bigger than you would get at any normal gas station convenience store. Also, they have large clean bathrooms. These are not janky run down gas station bathrooms, these are super clean and well maintained with plenty of space and good lighting. The gas here is generally cheaper than everywhere else, so if anything this is a great place to fill up gas and use the restroom. There's also hand scooped ice cream, an automated milkshake machine, a a rad mural on the outside. If you're passing by the area I highly recommend a visit.

They sell Thriftys Ice Cream cones, they even have the cylindrical scoop! They have all the snacks you might want, they even sell fried chicken, mojos, pizza made to order, pastrami sandwiches... and the viral Asian fruit shaped ice cream! The prices are a little higher, it it's a convenience store in the middle of nowhere so stop complaining. The gas was a good deal and the restrooms are clean!

I don't usually shop in this grocery store, it's More of a…read moreplace to go when u need something quick or forgot to get something on your regular shopping trip. When I pulled into the parking lot there was a jeep parked out front with 4 loud teenagers in it and made me feel really uncomfortable just beig there especially hearing their foul language from a good distance. So I hurried in, only needing a can of dogfood until I can get to the store to buy what I regularly get. The store looks decently organized and the shelves look neat but the floor felt really dirty like it's not regularly cleaned, though the shelves are neat, they are reallllllllly dusty. Seems like everything in this store has a fine layer of dust on it or might be expired. The man who rang me up was decently friendly and I was out pretty quick. Not sure if if regularly shop here but in a pinch, I guess it's okay.

It's current state in August of 2022 is certainly NOT as bad as it can get, and in fact has much improved under the current management/ownership. I am not being overly generous to rank it- "Good" with 4 Stars. That's a solid rating which hedges on "Excellent" were it not for a few somewhat minor issues; chief among them is PRICE for goods. After which is product variety; not only in type, but brand. Both of which can readily be explained by the fact that this store lies well off the beaten path as far as deliver routes go, which requires extra cost in delivery from those grocers who will even bother to do so; and that cost must be passed on to the Consumer. Even then, not everything can simply be delivered, and the store Manager must make routine trips to larger cities such as Bakersfield, Barstow, Lancaster, and Palmdale just to acquire them. Does anyone think this additional cost in the Manager's time and travel expense should not be paid for by the Consumer? If you do- you are being unreasonable and ridiculous. In summation, I am glad we have the Boron Food Market and know that we would suffer badly out here without it. And while I will likely always do my major food shopping in Lancaster/Palmdale stores; I will none-the-less continue to support the Boron Food Market with my "interval needs"; i.e.- fresh milk, ice cream products, and other perishables etc. I would suggest the same for anyone who lives here. It's the old "You'll never know how much you'll miss something until it's gone" conundrum. Did you know we once had a Bowling Alley? A small Theater? An indoor Skating Rink?
