I am so thankful that I found W&K and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for expert tax advice.

They completed the forms and told me to mail them to the IRS. I did so only to find out later that that will take nearly a year to receive the refund. Well, here it is, 2024...2 years later and the estate is no closer to receiving the refund than it was in March of 2022. After numerous communications with the IRS, we recently learned that the Social Security number that the Williams & Kunkle CPA used was incorrect. At this point, there seems to be little chance of resolving all of the problems this mistake has caused. Needless to say, I made a major mistake involving this firm in settling my sister's estate taxes.

Sean Duncan did nothing to help me. He did not review the audit paperwork for me or go to bat with the IRS. In fact, he quoted me over $1000 to complete the audit documentation the IRS required! I consulted with 2 other CPA's and 1 financial adviser and all of them said the same thing... SMD reported the mileage in the wrong way and should have known better. SMD should have completed the audit documentation without charging me anything. They made a dumb mistake that cost me dearly then left me to fend for myself. SMD makes Turbo Tax look good!

We decided to move forward and we were sent a contract to sign. After a series of mistakes on his part, the onboarding process stalled. I asked to work with someone else. At which point my experience with DiLucci further deteriorated. They made a series of inaccurate statements (including that they weren't taking on new clients) that left us 6 months behind scrambling to find different accounting services. If you value predictability and honest communication, I recommend finding another option.

Serious, professional help. Enter Cornwell Jackson. I reached out by email for a consultation and within a day received a phone call to discuss my questions and concerns. Scott spent a good 30 minutes discussing my situation with me and offering me valuable insight and advice. And after all that, he was honest enough to tell me it would cost me more to get professional help than to make a few changes on my own. I can't express in words how grateful I was for that kind of integrity and honesty. Other tax accountants I spoke to recently wouldn't even listen to me without trying to schedule an appointment that would cost me $200-250/hr. I may not have needed professional help this time around but I know who I will turn to without hesitation when I do. A company with outstanding professionals that really care about helping their clients! We cut the deadline kind of close last year when we used him or we would have looked around for somebody else. He was not very knowledgeable about a lot of the current laws and tax write off as he should have been. The office was extremely hard to get any questions answered when I called updates. I used him last year and would very much warn people not to go with him. Realize how incompetent he was until we've used a professional CPA that was very knowledgeable and professional this year. I mean during our initial consult he was all over the place standing up sitting down not looking us in the eye picking his nose I could not believe it. Yet, our fault. We still went with him.

Our goal was to find an accounting firm in Dallas that understood our growth mindset and was entrepreneur-friendly. We wanted help with tax preparation and to make sure we were bookkeeping with best practices. It took months and countless unanswered emails to get anywhere with Kelly CPA accountants after the first in person meeting. Our intake form and answers provided were even lost by their office at one point. After calling and being blatantly ignored multiple times by the accountant their first assigned us, they finally assigned a new accountant a few weeks before the deadline to file. I asked multiple times over email and calls to meet in person to review our information since the firm lost our data. He ignored my requests for the in person meeting just like the previous accountant who was assigned. I have major issues with the way they bill. Part of it is my fault - make sure if you use them to get their fees agreed to in writing. They claim they discussed this in person at our first meeting, but we don't have this written down nor do we remember for sure if it was agreed to many months ago. They don't include pricing in the engagement letter, which makes no sense to me. A simple google search shows this business charges 2-3x the average market price for tax returns - definitely worth knowing before signing an engagement letter. Finally, after requesting a sit-down with their bookkeepers to review best practices and being ignored on that, it was clear they weren't a firm that truly cares about supporting small businesses. They have done a great job with their marketing and the millennial friendly office space - but these things definitely duped me.
