This One's Better Living has a few disadvantages.. Sharing the same parking lot as Foody's Mart makes shopping here a nightmare on weekend... The store is smaller than the other ones I been to so the selection of merchandise is a little bit less... and the aisles can be a little bit tight. But I still love their "Made In Japan" dinner wares and other cute little things they carries. Parking though is not that bad at all on weekdays.......... read more

I've been picky on when to visit this place; usually on stat holidays when Foody is closed. The store is smaller than the one at Market Village and the one at 16th/Woodbine, but the variety is overall maintained. I particularly love the 3 for $6.99 corner (lots of different household goods every week there), and the clock displays always seem to change. Some Yelpers here I've noticed commented on the bad service, however in the times I've been here I haven't had what I would consider a "negative" experience. However the employees do like to follow you around, which does pressure you to buy something even if you're not interested. read more

The sales rep Yannie seems racist against her own race. I've purchased things well over what I spent today and she asked to see my ID. She always has a terrible attitude and is constantly rude. Each time I ask her a question is like I'm asking to be insulted. I try not to go to that location because of her. read more

Literally the worst place on earth. I've had two bad experiences at this place now, all revolving around awful staff and a stubborn and rude manager. The first time was when the doors just opened and they were having a sale of some kind. Since I had some time to kill, I walked in to browse. Though there was nary a soul in the store, all the staff didn't even look up when I went in and simply stayed huddled in their little group to chat and play with their phones. No help was offered, no hello or acknowledgement of my existence. No es bueno. The second time, I bought a product with debit. The next week, due to some issues with my bank, I went in to "return" the product using my debit and then buy it again right away with a credit card. No money would be lost on their part and I would keep the same product, in the same condition. Seems logical that they would allow me to do that right? Nope. The "manager" (I asked him if he was the manager and he said yes. Later, it turned out to be a lie as the real manager came out later. Strike 1.) rudely and insistently looked at me like I was crazy and said "Nope. Nope. Nope." Then he made up some complete bull about not being able to process debit refunds because "it's not the same day the purchase was made." What? So debit machines can only refund if it's the same day as it was purchased? What planet is he living on? Did he think I was stupid? I started getting irate at his straight up lie and raised my voice. The manager didn't come out to see what was going on, she CALLED the front desk and asked what was going on. He was explaining to her what was happening and I had to demand to speak to the manager. She came out after a bit and asked me "why I needed the money back in my debit account anyway." None of your fu**ing business, thank you very much. What business is it of yours why I want to put it on my credit card? She explained that basically that they offer no refunds because it will cost them money every time they process a debit transaction. Are you on crack? I informed her that I would never shop there again and was she really telling me that she was willing to sacrifice long-term business and profits to save themselves one debit transaction fee? Apparently so. I walked out, frustrated and unsatisfied and she seemed fine with that. One's carries some really cute products and I used to love shopping there but in the end, for me, it's really not worth putting up with their beyond-shoddy customer service. It's so bad that you almost feel abused every time you enter or shop there. I've never had such problems at the Market Village location, but who knows. Stay well away. There's definitely some better mom and pop shops selling the same kind of stuff at Pmall or First Markham that you should be patronizing. read more

They sell some household goods and little trinkets, depending on what's in and the season. Typical items you'd find: cookware, laundry racks, all sorts of stationary, backpacks, hats, mugs, earring stands, Hello Kitty watches, selfie sticks, you get the idea of the mish-mash and assorted random things they would have. Parking at this location is nearly impossible to find, because it is located beside Foody Mart and opens later and closes earlier than it as well. Final thing, because their store is smaller than their other typical ones (e.g. Pacific Mall), they tend to carry a smaller selection of goods. read more

I had gone to one's living just to browse, right as I entered the store door the sales associated watched me like a hawk. Ignoring this annoyance, I proceeded to walk around and look at various items. Everytime I picked up an item to look at , a sales associate (who is already watching me with 4 other associates) rushes up grabs the product out of my hand and shows me what it is. In my opinion being stalked around the store by 4 employees made it a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. It made me feel as if I was targeted to wanting to steal or break something in the store, which was never nor ever will be my intention. As I told the sales associated that their help was not needed, they still proceeded to eye me like hawk as I moved isle to isle hearing them speak chinese to eachother and still looking at me. I went the second time with my mom and the same treatment was given to us; Eyeing us , and following us around the store. After the second time experiencing this uncomfortable atmosphere and rude employees my mother and I left and I told myself that I would never enter this store again. Not only is it rude to speak another language infront of english speaking customers ( It came across that they were talking about me) but the fact that they were up your ass the whole time you were at the store. Instead of me taking my time and browsing I was instead rushed out due to the rude and very nosey employees. Today I've went into this store for the first time. Looking for bedsheets, one of the staff was spying on me like I was about to steal something, so I just ignored her. While I was still looking for bedsheets I could hear the sound of a cardboard cutter being slide opened and closing back and forth from one of the staffs for at least a couple minutes, was very annoying and threatening to a level I feel like I want to call the police and place an arrest for the threat. I find this the most disturbing incident out of all in the entire store. But I did what I think was the best solution, ignore the staff that keep opening and closing her cardboard cutter non-stop. While I was still looking for bedsheets a staff finally came to help me look for ones I'm interested. She was helpful but sometimes kind of impolite and impatient, unfortunately I couldn't find a bedsheet pattern I was interested in, still I appreciate her help. But my mom happen to bought some nylon mesh bag for clothes to be put in washing machines, the girl at the cashier was not rude like the other staff. read more
