Also when applying for lines of credit or lines for anything, they act just like any other financial institution. It's all based on a screened robo response based on that almighty three digit number called a credit score. It's not a human touch, which is rare now these days anyway.... so I guess they are up to date in that aspect unfortunately. However, that's not to say that it's all bad. Their customer service is okay and they have a lot of features online that are pretty neat. Every time I visit in person, they are super polite. So I'm pleased over all, though it isn't over the top amazing. 4 stars is a compliment. Their motto is "Like a bank. Only better". I often joke that it should be "Like a bank." period.

The first time, I was assured everything was good to go, only to find out that was false. They will constantly blame you or blame Zelle instead of taking any accountability for their own broken system. I actively use Zelle through another bank with zero issues, so blaming this on a "Zelle IT issue" is just an excuse. The problem is on this credit union's end. To top it off, they made me wait 90 days just to access shared branching and Zelle--and after all that waiting, it still doesn't work. When you call customer care, they don't help at all; they just brush you off. Why waste your time banking somewhere that lacks basic functionality and refuses to own up to their mistakes? Save yourself the headache and take your money elsewhere.

Finally, after 7 months being transferred to several different departments, I discovered they would not respond to my communication attempts because I didn't have authorization. Which forced me to get court authorization that cost me time, money and frustration. Then when they did respond, I then learned that they were receiving and reading all my communication the entire time. After talking and emailing with them for 5 minutes they told me there was nothing they could do. All this waste of my time and money could have been avoided 7 to 9 months earlier by a simple phone call. Horrible, horrible organization. Suggest people look for a smaller credit union that cares.

I recently needed to get something notarized and was dreading the trip to my bank (one of the "big…read morebox banks") that would probably eat up hours of my day. One suggestion came up that I should try calling Schwab to see if they offer the service, and they do!! Called ahead and Cooper told me that both persons manning the desk had the ability to notarize documents, no appointments needed. Later in the day, I made my way over to Schwab. The SouthPark location is super convenient, they have their own, dedicated parking lot that was easy to get in and out of. The counter is shared with TD Ameritrade, so once you figured out which side of the main desk to go to, it was a breeze. Cooper looked like he just came back from lunch, or a break but he remembered my voice from my phone query and we got to notarizing (with valid ID and documentation of course!) There was no line and the whole thing probably took 15min (I spent more time driving to the location I bet). Of course, I was only notarizing two documents (total of 6-8 pages of information for my professional engineering license... so I'm sure you need to allot for more time if you have a lot of paperwork to go through and review). It also helps that I am a Schwab account holder. Overall it was a great experience, and I need to think of them more often when I need to do "official business things" or in need of a notary.
