I've been a client of Meyer Mortgage for the past couple years and couldn't recommend them more…read more When I moved to Bowling Green I planned to act as my own general contractor as I built my house, which came with its own set of challenges. I randomly found Meyer Mortgage as I researched funding options and had the pleasure of meeting Jim Meyer himself to discuss my loan needs. He was so supportive and helpful! Throughout the construction process Jim and his staff were great partners to me and my family and really helped make our home build a great success. They made it super easy to transition from the construction loan to traditional 30-year mortgage. I also was able to work with the Meyer Mortgage team to fairly quickly re-finance my loan when rates dropped. I am so grateful to have found Meyer Mortgage and recommend this locally owned and operated company to anyone in need of a home loan!

I'm an attorney and my husband is a Purple Heart Iraq war veteran. When we first started our pre-approval process for a VA home loan with Meyer Mortgage, everything honestly went great. They were quick did what we needed to begin our home buying process, or so we thought. After being pre-approved, finding a home, making an offer, and beginning the loan process, that's when things went south. For a VA loan, they needed my employment verification. Instead of simply asking my husband or myself for my employer's contact information, they faxed an information release form with our social security numbers and full names on it to a random office in Frankfort, not connected to my employer in any way, who faxed it around to other offices, and it was eventually faxed to another office in my building that is completely separate from the office I work in. The only reason the faxed documents finally made it to me was because an individual in the office in the same building as me recognized my name and hand-delivered them to me. It was extremely embarrassing to have the whole world know we were buying a home (we are private people who don't fan our business out). When I called and asked why they didn't simply ask us for my employer contact info, I was met with radio silence, a generic apology, and kind of pushed towards forgetting about the screw-up. My husband also emailed a report of the incident to the main company email address and never received any form of acknowledgment or response. Things went even worse when they denied our loan (AFTER an inspector had been sent to our prospective home and the sellers had begun certain repairs per our request) because they put a completely inaccurate income amount on the loan application to begin with. We still have no idea where that figure came from, then they tried to blame us for it as if it were our error. It was not. It was a clerical error on their part, which they took no responsibility for, which caused us lots of wasted time and even some money (the money we paid for the inspection on a house we were led to believe we were approved for but really weren't.) Thankfully, we ended up going with a different lender in the end. The new lender gave us priority that we didn't have with Meyer and treated us like people, not with apathy. I feel that we were not given priority with Meyer because we did not have the high-dollar budgets that many of their clients have and were pushed aside and not taken as seriously. I also feel like carelessness caused the debacle with our social security numbers getting sent to people who had no business accessing them as well as getting the wrong income amount placed on our loan application. If we our identities are ever stolen, we will know why.
