So for months I've been thinking about moving away from Desert Financial because I have been less than satisfied with the overall service I get there plus I've always struggled with dealing with them for anything other than straight banking. So I did some research to find "the best credit union in Arizona" and after everything I've seen, OneAZ topped most lists. So I finally had the time and took the time to stop in to this branch. Well I walked in and, being in the service industry, the first thing I noticed was that most of the lights (all of the lights in the actual lobby and customer area) were off. Now I don't know about anyone else, but the impression I get when I see that is a place that is broke. And don't come at me with the whole "saving electricity" crap because I believe the fixtures were LED and you can run LED's with a piece of fruit. So then I noticed there were, I wanna say, 8 windows? But all but one of the windows were void of CSR's and only one person was helping people. Now I'm standing there at 1:45 in the afternoon on a Thursday waiting on this one CSR when another customer arrived. Now I get it, I legitimately waited between 5 and 10 minutes, which doesn't seem like a lot, but when it's taken me about a month since my decision to even find any time to get in there? 5 to 10 minutes is a long time. I only even saw one other employee in the bank at all and she was in a little office on the phone. I decided I didn't want to take a chance that if I ever needed help, I would be placed on hold standing in the lobby so I turned and headed to the door. The CSR that WAS working must have finished with the person he was working with because he yelled to me as I was hitting the door that he could help me now. Needless to say, I just kept walking and also needless to say, I guess my search continues to find a new financial institute. Or maybe I just stay at Desert Financial because they seem to be the lesser of two evils. read more

My hero! After a frustrating experience at the Northsight branch, I honestly wasn't sure if I wanted to continue banking with OneAZ Credit Union. But Travis Duran, the branch manager, completely turned that around and won me back as a client. For months I had been trying unsuccessfully to open an account because my work hours made it nearly impossible to come in during normal banking hours. Travis went above and beyond--he actually stayed late after closing just to help me get my account opened. What stood out the most was his kindness, flexibility, and genuine empathy. He never made me feel rushed, and he certainly didn't make me feel guilty for keeping him after hours. Instead, he was patient, professional, and focused on making sure everything was taken care of. That level of customer service is rare these days, and I'm incredibly grateful for the accommodation and care he showed. Because of Travis, I'm proud to be a OneAZ member. I still love this credit union, but to me it is very odd (other customers noticed to and commented in the line) why would the Branch Manager move her office to not only the smallest office, but out of sight of customers entering the Branch. We wondered if she was demoted, did not want to be bothered, or this was an upper management move. This is not a good look for her or reassuring for customers. I thought it was temporary, guess not. Customer service reps are nice & courteous, but the service itself is TERRIBLE. Wait times are lengthy, callers are transferred to companies not even affiliated with One AZ, i.e. "Community Credit Union" in Wisconsin & confirmation/auth numbers are not given nor is an email sent after a payment unless the customer asks. The website continually gives error messages but worst of all, verification for phone callers is over-kill & poses a safety risky for ID theft from cell phone users, etc.! Customers must give complete social security numbers, birthdays, address, email, phone, complete make, model, year of vehicle financed, etc. before the rep will talk to them to ascertain why they are calling. Our original company was purchased by One AZ about 4 months after we bought our new car & we plan to move this loan elsewhere. read more

Then never responded again, even though I sent emails and called to check in. I have never experienced anything like this from a professional at a bank before. Love OneAZ! App is really easy to use, their cards work with Apple Pay, Venmo, etc. Some cards have the tap to pay (mine is older so mine does not but the newer ones do). Transferring money between checking and savings is easy and fast. Haven't had any issues since setting up my account in 2020! read more

I've been a member since the mid 70s and have never regretted it. Their service has always been top-notch and that was embodied in my most recent experience. I went in last week to send a wire transfer and Wendy was an incredible help. I had sent another wire a year ago, but the transfer number had apparently changed, she took the time to try to figure it out and I completed the paperwork. About an hour after I left, I received a message from the person I was wiring to to tell me that the number we used was wrong. I went back into the credit union that afternoon and she called the wire department to make sure that the number was correct the second time around. It went through seamlessly. While was there. She told me about a newer investment plan they had developed and helped me transfer my money market into that account. This level of service is what I always get and I think Wendy for her humor and patience. read more

Ya know, I've been in professional marketing for all my life and that's for over 50 years. It's always gratifying to see an organization embrace great customer skills throughout their representatives at all levels. The Guadalupe ONEAZ location has such an organization. Whoever does the hiring or the customer service training deserves credit for their selection process. And more importantly, the actual tellers and account representatives deserve even more credit for "Walking The Walk!" First Example: My wife and I had arrived at ONEAZ about 15 minutes early for our scheduled appointment and as we enjoyed the comforts of their soft accomodations, I wandered over to Ada (or Ida's) window. It was close to noon and I was hesitant to asked her of a question that maybe too "time consumptive." I kind of expected a short response but quickly realized that I had hit a "motherload" of pertinent information which in turn excited more questions from me to quell my desire for a deeper understanding of the financial queston. If Ada gave a class on her banking knowledge, I'd be first in line! Example Two: Next, there was Mitch. Oh Mitch where do we begin with you. Let's use some descriptive qualities first such as; personable, genuine, caring, understanding, listener, bright, cheerie, knowledgeable, savvy, competent, thorough, investigative . . . I'd better stop before I start repeating myself. My wife and I had come to ONEAZ to include our financials into our Family Trust. A rather technical piece of legalese for laypeople to complete but Mitch walked us through it perfectly, delivering the presentation to us in simple, yet informative outline. My wife and I were very comfortable in understanding the process and having our questions answered and even discovering questions we hadn't thought to ask. The meeting was very productive and lifted a very big weight off our shoulders. Our meeting with Mitch felt like we were having a family meeting. Their loan officers have poor communication and don't get back to you. it's been weeks of calling, leaving voicemails trying to get some answers and not one returned phone call. The credit union as a whole doesn't seem to be very well organized. You will talk to someone in the phone to get answers and they will tell one thing just for you to find out that that's not the case when you actually go in in person. read more

Pros: Really nice branch people, rates as good as anywhere else, you don't feel like they're actively screwing you, you can feel good about supporting a local financial co-op. Cons: Shitty branch and call center hours (though awesome if you work there), they have some sort of security breach at least once a year which forces you to change your card numbers and change all your autopay stuff, call centers are moderately useless so there's a 50-50 chance you'll have to trek down to a branch anyway by 5pm M-F. read more

Once you put your money into one of their accounts, and I call them THEIR accounts, because that's what they are. I've had thousands in overdraft fees with this bank, I've had echecks for rent not go through when I had plenty of money in THEIR account. I've been out with friends with plenty of money and when the checks due, of course my card won't work. It's a nightmare banking here. Expect to pay a lot of fees and have a lot of embarrassment banking with these guys. What a joke. Oh yeah, I forgot to add that their website is a piece of garbage too. They'll send you passwords after the one you've always used won't work for whatever stupid reason and the new password won't work either. So a long 30 minute waiting calling their number for help to get back into your account. I use other banks and have no problems ever. Just this place. It's a joke. read more

Not impressed. I'm paired with this bank on a truck loan and when I received my first payment request I got a bunch of paper vouchers. I'm an automatic withdraw online kind of a person and I quickly looked to see what link to follow to register for online payments. Nothing! If here is something it's ridiculous to find. Then I went online and still nothing. Or ridiculous to find. Not user friendly. I was mildly irritated about that but no biggie. I have been mailing my payments in every month on time no debate. WELL I get a call from them stating that my payment is late. When I tell the lady I sent my payment she must have looked harder and, viola, there's my payment. She says. "Oh! I'm sorry we just got it today so it's 11days late. There's a late fee." What!!?!! Are sure it's late because you weren't sure it was even there. I asked her if she would wave the late fee or, at least, look at when it's post dated to see that it wasn't sent late. Her response was not budging on the late fee because "we can't control the post office". Neither can I, lady. Are you kidding me? Then she asks if I'd like to open a savings account. Nope. I'm out of here asap. If you can't waive a simple late fee for a paper shuffle up on your end. I probably won't trust you with any more of my money. I have been a member for over 20 years. The only draw back is the limited amount branches, but I very rarely need one. I have had my card breach a few times now and their professional service is outstanding. The money that was used was put back in my account the next day and I was given a new card on the spot. I have spoken with people that use the big banks and this is not an option. It was a relief for me as one of the times I was leaving the next day on a trip out of the country. I'd given zero stars if I could.... Tempe location is the worst! Their atm wasn't working yesterday when I tried to deposit cash to make sure things didn't bounce. Went it today and they say sorry nothing we can do would've put it in the night drop. Why am I going to put cash in the night drop?! So whatd they do? Hit me with 3 overdraft fees and won't reverse them! This isn't the first problem I've had with them either. And when I was talking to the assistant bank manager he was laughing about it! I'm not sure this new company has its priorities straight. Went here to apply for a loan and they didn't acknowledge the substantial relationship and saving which more than covered the loan. The way they submitted the loan was false which caused the decline on purpose. I don't believe my friend and I will not do any business with them. There place was very nice, manager was friendly and professional even if she lacks trust of her own long standing customers. All positive reviews seem to be the last company, not this one. read more
