First upon arrival the place is very sketchy looking with nothing on the door but a hung up banner that was half falling down. When I walked in, I thought there was no employee but as I approached the counter I realized that the employee was dead asleep in the chair. This was in the middle of the day. I wasn't sure if I should try waking him up, so I walked back out and back in to trigger the sound of the door alarm. They don't take any form of card payment, only cash app, Zelle, or cash (definitely not suspicious at all). I didn't get a receipt and I had to ask the employee if he needed my information so that he could call me when it was ready. He seemed flustered and said it was his first day. I'm assuming the fact he just woke up didn't help. I called the owner about two hours in to ask for an update and he said it would be ready in 20 minutes. When he got to the store it was in fact not ready and took an additional 20 minutes. When I got the tablet back, the screen was "fixed" but the iPad did not work when trying to touch it. We brought it back in for the employee to say it was a "defective part". We had to wait an additional three hours for it to be corrected. I will say the owner was responsive via phone calls and yelp but that is the only positive I found. The price point is low, but there are competitors in the area that charge similar rates, I would recommend looking into those.

I…read moredropped my Blackberry a few times, and it perhaps was damaged in various other ways, so both the original ball and the circular thing that surrounds it needed to be fixed or replaced. This is the first place I visited to have it looked at. The ball was repaired/replaced, though I believe I was charged $30-something, or perhaps $40. That seemed pretty steep to me, but the fixed phone worked just as well as the original, so I didn't mind much. Since I'm a little bit of a klutz, I ended up damaging the repaired phone at some later point and had to come back here for a 2nd repair. The second fix also cost just as much, if not more than, the 1st. I still paid for it, though I now am avoiding future repairs to the Blackberry thanks to my switch to iPhone. The store sells various phones and phone accessories. The people who repaired the Blackberry during my visits worked quickly and efficiently and were helpful. The price of the repairs did catch me off guard, though. I was not expecting that, especially the first time I was here. This store is located across Fairbanks Ave. from Fiddler's and next door to Winter Park Cleaners. The business now may be called We Fix Phones - I'm unsure if AAA City Communications remains its official name. (The signage above the front door reads "We Fix Phones" - some advertising signs on the sidewalk outside also suggest that it goes by that name.) I tried to look up this business on Yelp this afternoon but could not find it, so I Googled its phone number. That led me to a MySpace link, which suggested that the business' name was/is AAA City Communications ... and that's how I came to write a review here. No matter the exact name, this place should be able to help you with cell phone repairs, though I'm unsure of the rates other than what is charged for a new Blackberry roller ball.

Anyway, as we were leaving Disney Works I wanted to see what was happening on my phone so as we randomly passed a phone repair shop we stopped to get the screen fixed. Mr. "Ray" in the pink shirt, (photo posted) seemed like a jolly fine fellow & said he could fix it in a hour, but his computer was down, so I would have to pay cash. (Should have seen that as a red flag) No worries, I said, I went across the street to Fanny about while I waited. I came back he said he fixed it but I needed a new battery, and that was going to cost $30 more. I said ok. Didn't think anything of it. He gave me my phone said it was dead but I could charge it in the car. I paid & he quickly gave me some Cash change ask me to give him 5 stars on google, which I did, and I left. When I got in the car the phone wouldn't charge & he shorted me $30 in change. I went back inside told him he shorted me $30 and it wouldn't charge. It kept dying. He said he would change the battery again. And he did acknowledge that he made a mistake & didn't give me the correct change back. He gave me $30 more in Cash. My husband was now standing there beside me & ask him if he could fix his backup phone screen for $120 also. He said yes, and he fixed Sir Hubbers backup phone also, which is working fine. He told us he switched the battery out again for another "after market battery" which the phone was telling us that it didn't recognize the battery it wasn't a Apple battery so we thought that was why it wasn't charging right. We thought we just had to get home to charge it with the apple charger so we left. Long story short, while we were there some strange dude kept coming in & out waiting for us to leave, it all seemed odd and looking back on it; we think it was his drug dealer. I mean, he wanted cash, he couldn't do simple math, he acted very strange etc., So, on the drive back to St Pete we stopped in SH for a boba, but they were closed. There was a phone place next door that was open & these phone people told us it couldn't be fixed! (That reviews coming) When I got back to St Pete, I looked for a reputable place, anyone with an IQ above "Ray's" age double cubed square & found "Phone repair and more" which has the largest Phone Repair chain in the Tampa area. Long Story short, I met Mr. Mohamed there & he said he would take a look at it. When I came back he was very serious in his tone & told me who ever tried to "fix" the battery broke the connectors by being too forceful. They did NOT even replace the battery, it was still the original Apple battery & it was leaking (see photos) He pointed out the crack in the battery (see photos) ask me to smell it. It smelled of fuel, as it was leaking. He said he would NEVER let anyone leave his shop with a battery like that as it was so dangerous it could explode any moment, it could have killed me, burnt my house down, burned me in my car etc., Mr. Mohamed is replacing the battery connectors & battery. It should be fixed in a week. I thanked him for saving my life. To Mr. Ray: "You broke my phone, lied to me, you scammed me for cash, you did NOT replace my battery with a after market battery, it still has the original Apple batter that is leaking! It could have cost me my life, the people I love around me or God forbid even more unsuspecting innocent lives. Mr. Ray, you are a danger to society. Lawyer up." DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I came in with a Keyboard that had recently had milk spilled on it. Although it was considered resistant to liquid, it started acting up. I opened the thing to see the extent of the damage but found that I was out of my element when I saw just how far deep it had seeped. So I took it here for their Free diagnosis which was advertised on their website, where it stated that a diagnostic is free and then I would be contacted and talked about what needed to be done and how much it would cost. I set up an appointment for diagnostic only and would turn in my keyboard with all the necessary pieces such as screws I took out for them. Then I would be told to wait 3-5 buisness days to get a call, which I found to be pretty long for a simple keyboard inspection but didn't mind. I was contacted the next day, and although the Keyboard to them started working just fine. I assume that the liquid resistance feature of the keyboard worked and just needed a day to dry cause I was told there was nothing wrong with it. From there I thought it was a simple case of picking it up, however I was then told that the technician did a cleaning of debris and that I would be charged $49.99 plus tax for a service I didn't ask for nor was asked about. Although angry I decided to just go and pay and pick it up thinking that at least it was gonna be clean. What I found was that my keyboard did not in fact look as though it was touched at all and in fact looked in worse condition than when I brought it in. Screws looked rushed to be drilled in that they look out of place, if they were in it at all as some they said were "broken" or "bent" even though they gave them back and I was able to put them back in myself with no issue. The cable that would be plugged in for it was hanging out of the keyboard effectively rendering it's no bending feature useless, and the dial for volume was loose and would get caught on itself due to the plastic piece underneath never being fasten down by the same screws they said were broken (which I also put in myself). Little to say, I was very clearly upset however had already paid since it was the only way to even see my keyboard. I demanded my money back since from the way it looked, I basically payed $50 for someone to quickly and badly screw the thing together again and plug it in and see it work. As I was arguing this point, the staff all had scoffs and smirks that was very rude. I was basically being gaslit into believing that it worked because of the cleaning despite the call I had saying that it was working before they cleaned it. Either way, I would like to be informed BEFORE any work is done to know how much I would be paying. Something that again, is advertised on their website in the first place. Ontop of this, being told that instead of paying $50 I could pay for a monthly service of $21 a month where I wouldn't be able to cancel said deal until after 30 days is shady af. I'm glad I chose to pay with cash instead of giving any of them my card information or else things might've been a lot worse. Never coming here again, you're better off buying whatever you're going to pay to get fixed here instead.

This is the worst service I've ever gotten from a company…read more On August 11, I brought in an iPod Touch with a cracked screen and asked if they could repair it. They said yes but they needed to order the part. I came back a couple days later when the part was in and dropped off my phone. They said the repairs are usually done by the end of the day but they'd call me to let me know. About a week later, no word from them. So I called and they said that the screen broke when they tried to replace it. They said it was a "defective" screen so they needed to order another one. They also said then that the only guy who knows how to repair iPods doesn't work on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I wouldn't be able to get it until August 24. That was a red flag. Why is only one person able to work on it? And why didn't they tell me from the beginning? Well, August 24 came and went. No word from them. Then another week goes by with no word. And then another week goes by with no word. On September 9, I came into the store and asked what's going on with my iPod. Someone said that the guy who knows how to repair iPods got Covid and has been out for the last 8 days. But he was cleared to come in tomorrow and fix it. Obviously, the company has no control over him getting Covid. But they can notify me that there will be a delay. They could also have more than one person who knows how to do that job. They could have even sent it to another Asurion store to get it done. But they did none of those things. But I gave them one last chance. September 10 came and went. They're closed on Sundays and the guy doesn't work on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I waited for a call on September 14. None came. Nothing the next day or the next. Today, on September 19, 39 days after I came in for a repair, I gave up. Still having heard nothing, I came into the store and said I wanted my iPod back. I would take it somewhere else. They gave it back and offered no explanation or apology. When I picked up the iPod, it had a new screen on it, but it's not fitted properly, so the touch screen doesn't work. It seems that they just don't know how to fix it but didn't want to tell me. I am curious how long they would've gone without notifying me if I hadn't given up and come in to get it. I will never use this business again. The service is terrible, the communication is terrible, and I have no faith in their ability to actually fix something.
