Great place to start. On our family vacation to Myrtle Beach I needed to find something to keep my…read more15 year daughter busy. Driving through the web I see surf school and I hatch a plan. I call them and get the details and find out that they come to you. Not like the other guys I called that you have to go where they are or will be. The price is right and they offer discounts the more time you book. The day came when her lesson was going to start. They called me to confirm our daughter's height and weight, showed up on time, brought the correct surf board. Explain from beginning to the end (who, what where and when of it all). My daughter who is ADHD with a big E in front (extreme) had no problems fallowing along, enjoyed it and I liked that we had a 2 hour lesson and after an hour they took a break and it was not included in the time booked. After it was said and done they did not pressure me into more time or other lessons. Very professional, punctual, understanding and most of all patient.

We ended up getting out on the best day of the week. My wife had a great lesson, and caught the best wave of her life! Our instructor Nick was very helpful and encouraging, and gave me some pointers to improve my skills as a surfer. I highly recommend Carolina School of Surf!

Two summers ago, I took my first surfing lesson, but despite working with three different…read moreinstructors since then, I felt like a "sock in a dryer" struggling to catch a wave. Determined to make this summer different, I booked a hotel in Myrtle Beach and sought out surf lessons. When I stumbled upon nativesurflessons.com, something magical happened. As I explored the website, particularly the Meet The Instructor section on the About page, I felt an immediate connection with Chris, the instructor. His passion for surfing and genuine care for people shone through, making it clear that this was the right place for me. The warm greeting I received from his wife when I called to book my session was a wonderful taste of the famed "Southern Hospitality." And, let's be real, I didn't experience a literal beam of light descending from the heavens with a choir singing "Hallelujah," but that's exactly what it felt like when I read about Chris's dedication on the website. You know, that moment when everything just clicks, and you're like, "Yes, this is it!" When I arrived at Cherry Grove Pier, meeting Chris reaffirmed my decision. His welcoming presence and the sense of camaraderie in the air assured me that I was in good hands. Now, you might be wondering, "How was the lesson?" After three prior lessons with different instructors, I was a bit skeptical about whether I could truly grasp surfing. However, Chris proved to be one of the best instructors I've encountered, whether online or in person. His explanations of surfing, especially about the crucial pop-up technique and proper surfing stance, were unparalleled. Once we hit the water, he quickly assessed my skills and guided me with precision. In just a short time, he provided a few key tips that transformed my surfing experience. By the end of the lesson, I was catching my own waves--a milestone I hadn't anticipated reaching so quickly. Some may say it takes three lessons to surf, but in my case, it was about finding the right instructor. Chris at Native Surf Lessons has the knack for making dreams come true. Don't let age hold you back; I'm 52, and I've seen surfers in their 70s and 80s riding the waves in New Hampshire. As I write this review the day after, I'm still riding high, with the memory of yesterday's incredible experience etched in my mind. If you're considering whether Native Surf Lessons is the right place for you to learn, let me assure you, it absolutely is. I still remember him giving me the Shaka, going: "Yeah, Brother!!!" It was like I instantly became part of the surfing tribe. Don't hesitate; pick up the phone and call Native Surf Lessons to embark on an unforgettable surfing journey of your own!

Their instruction got us catching our own waves by the end of the 2-hour lesson. Good guys (Chris, the owner, and his assistant Evan), hood tips and tons of fun. I'd do it again tomorrow.
