1 Star I hired Michelle from One Hot Dish Catering to cater my son's wedding for approximately 150 guests. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing and far below what we had agreed upon. In our planning discussions we specifically arranged for boneless light and dark meat chicken. Instead, what was served were chicken legs and thighs on the bone. This was not what we contracted for. We also arranged for charcuterie to be available to guests as they arrived. Guests had been traveling and were hungry, but instead of being welcomed to the food, they were prevented from taking anything. The presentation itself was also disappointing -- it appeared to consist of store-bought packages (similar to Costco items) simply opened and placed on a platter. Another issue was timing and organization. When guests arrived, Michelle was still setting up. For a wedding reception this size, that level of preparation felt very unprofessional. We paid for an additional service attendant to help with food service, yet the overall service was still disorganized and slow. One additional dish we added ended up being essentially a cold lemon spaghetti salad, which was not what we expected from a catered wedding meal. There were also several service items that had been discussed in advance that did not happen. Michelle was supposed to personally serve the bride and groom and assist with cake cutting and serving, but neither occurred. For a final bill approaching $6,000, we expected a far higher level of professionalism, preparation, and service. Michelle and her staff were amazing. I had a baby shower that she helped me cater and the setup was quick even though she was setting up for 50 people. The food was amazing as well. The Tri Tip and the Grilled Lemon Chicken were the favorites for my guests. Michelle was even gracious enough to prepare two plates of food for me and my wife since we were busy entertaining all the guests. She was so thoughtful. My company and family have now used Michelle 2x in four weeks and they feel like old friends-Friends who can REALLY cook! Our first event was a company christmas party for 100 - full on fancy, buffet style with meat cutting station and full bar. We thought everything was perfect and couldnt handle all the compliments we got from vendors and customers . This past weekend I think was almost better. Choosing a caterer for your wedding is a big choice to make, Michelle and her catering services is an excellent one! I absolutely recommend her services. Her slow cooked Tri-tip is excellent (and probably the best tri tip I have ever had) along with the rest of the food she cooked for my wedding reception. I had many guests compliment me on how good her food was. For an appetizer she served us stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail and there was a cheese platter. The stuffed mushrooms were excellent, my husband and I couldn't get enough of them and even asked for a second plate. The shrimp cocktail was delicious and looked elegant as people were wandering around the venue with them. For dinner she served the slow smoked Tri-tip, chicken, garlic mashed potatoes with spinach, seasonal veggies, and a dinner roll. The selection was great for a crowd with a large variety of different tastes. Plus we had leftover to enjoy! Her and her team were excellent! They paid extra attention to the wedding table, making sure my husband and I had food, which is important when you are rushing around trying to greet people, take pictures, and just handling the overall excitement of the event. It is easy to forget to take time to go get food and eat but Michelle, herself, made sure we were personally taken care of. Once dinner was done, she cleaned up not only her set up as if she was never there but she took care of the dinner and desert plates that I had rented from a different company. She cleaned and stacked them so I wouldn't have to worry about them, which was a HUGE weight off my shoulders because I thought I was going to have to hand wash 100+ dishes on my wedding day. I am so blown away by the amazing food and service of the entire catering staff! We had to the great opportunity to have Michelle and the One Hot Dish team cater our wedding and it was superb! Michelle went above and beyond to cater to our wants for our big day and I'm just so sad that I don't have her food everyday! Michelle was scheduled to cater what she understood to be a very important event for 30 people, and bailed out on me at the very last minute. She had the audacity to reassure me that she would take care of the event, and arrogantly canceled at the latest possible hour because it was no longer convenient for her. We canceled an 80th BD event due to COVID in July- 2020. WITHIN THE FULL DEPOSIT RETURN TIME. We paid 500$ initially, to hold the date. And then another $500. We decided to rebook the event for the following Summer. So we let Michelle know and gave her rough dates. Due to medical issues, we called to cancel the event, but let her know if we could rebook, we would. We ask for our Deposit. Michelle said she did not have our money!! This place is great! Michelle catered my husband 50th birthday party/ufc fight this post weekend. I called her only a week in advance and was lucky to find out she had my date available. She was quick to send me over a menu and showed up early the day of the party to set up. The bacon wrapped chicken bites went fast! Everyone loved the pulled pork and tri tip sandwiches, and my favorite thing was the chili and cornbread (it was a little too spicy for some, but the spice was what I liked!)
