    Incompetent

Apparently im not the only one who had a complained about this loser. How embarrassing it is to be this guy he barely speaks English and wants to act like he is educated i almost laughed He lies about dental work and claim the insurance doesnt cover something just so they can bill you for a higher amount ..... im surprised he still works there after all these reviews This office lacks transparency and professionalism. I was told certain procedures were not covered when they actually were, which raised serious concerns about honesty and billing practices. Do not go here, it's my fault for not checking the reviews before going.

THE MAN IN CHARGE OF THIS OFFICE IS COMPLETELY UNHINGED AND ABUSIVE!! I don't normally write reviews like this. I work in the service industry and I don't like when people leave bad reviews because they don't like the service they receive: they put the livelihoods of those working at the restaurant in jeopardy just because a server might have had an off night. However I'm making an exception, because this man is not a server or a bartender who's having a bad night. This is MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL who's in charge of the oral health of who knows how many people, and he absolutely has no business having this responsibility, as he DOES NOT CARE IN THE SLIGHTEST about his patients or their oral health. In late November 2025 I came to this man's office at 2085 East 27th Street in Brooklyn because I needed a root canal. He was VERY rude and dismissive. He then told me he had to file a prior authorization to see if my insurance company would cover the procedure. I told him my policy covered root canals but he again said insurance pulls bullshit, and that he would file it and notify me when it cleared. I couldn't help but wonder, why the hell didn't he file it BEFORE my appointment??? But I agreed to let him contact me. This turned out to be correct: it turned out my specific tooth wasn't covered for the root canal, but WAS covered for the crown that would come afterwards by my original dentist. So I don't fault him for that even though his attitude was awful. BUT HE NEVER CONTACTED ME. I reached out to his office to try and find out what the insurance company said, but no one would answer the phone. It wasn't until a week and a half later I received a letter from the insurance company detailing the situation. I ended up getting the root canal done at a private endodontist practice in Williamsburg. Their office was luxurious, especially compared to his rinky dink little unsanitary office on East 27th street, and the whole procedure with no insurance cost me $1300. He would have charged $2000 for the same procedure. By this point it was January, and my old dentist who was supposed to do the crown no longer accepted my insurance, so I had to find a new dentist. I found one but they told me they needed this guy to release the prior authorization before so they could submit their own, as the current prior authorization wasn't transferrable and if they submitted a new one with this existing one still out there it would be denied. So I called his office. Turns out all they don't have phones at either location: they have some dude in India doing all the phone work for them. He told me he would have them release it and would contact me when it was finished. Nothing happened. So I called again. Same thing. So after 2 weeks of this horseshit, I went down to their office on Ralph Ave. I explained my situation and the girl at the counter assured me I had nothing to worry about. That she texted her manager and he said it was getting done and that she would text me when it was finished. In four days I received no text from her. Finally today, I show up at Ralph ave again. He's there at the front desk. I tell him I'm at my wits end with him and his office because I need to have the crown done otherwise the area is going to deteriorate further. I tell him the girl told me she texted him and that he said it was no problem and but I never received a text confirming it was taken care of. He tells me "Oh it takes too long to get in touch with the insurance companies about this kind of stuff, I was on hold waiting to speak to them for 30 minutes and I hung up. But you don't have to worry your new dentist can submit another prior authorization and it'll be fine!" And I told him that's not what they told me and he goes "oh it's fine just tell them to do it and it'll be fine." I said "Ok but if this isn't the case, I'm reporting you to the Better Business Bureau. Have a good day." As I walked away he snidely said "Doors right there don't miss it." Then this happens: I get about a block and a half down the sidewalk and I hear him yelling. I turn around. This man CHASED ME A BLOCK AND A HALF DOWN THE SIDEWALK. Then he starts getting in my face, cursing at me, threatening me and daring me to call the Bureau. Then after about 45 seconds of us yelling and cursing at each other (which culminated in him asking me "Do you want to DIE?!") we parted ways. I've been alive for 32 years. I've seen a lot of unprofessional people in my day. This man is hand's down the LEAST professional person I've ever encountered in ANY setting. Lazy, rude, greedy, incompetent, just generally awful. And now I'm looking at his reviews and seeing people talking about him scamming them and taking advantage of people in vulnerable financial positions, performing shoddy jobs on people like giving them fillings that IMMEDIATELY FALL OUT, lying about submitting prior authorizations so they can bill the customers later. This man is a piece of shit. Fuck him.

That's how a person behind the clinic communicates with the patient.

The worst possible experience. I went to One Dental Stop with a referral for an urgent emergency biopsy to rule out malignancy. My appointment was scheduled for a week later. Two hours before the appointment, while I was already on my way to the clinic, I received a text message saying it had been canceled. There was no phone call, no advance notice--just a last-minute cancellation by text, with no regard for the seriousness of my medical condition. No medical ethics, no empathy for the patient. Worst clinic in all of New York City.

    the front desk girl

This is a picture of man with a job that usually belongs to girls in their sophomore year of high school. He came here for no reason. He's accomplished nothing. He is uneducated, ignorant, and likely developmentally delayed. All of this resulting in an aggressive, disrespectful, piece of human trash that takes the anger he has for himself on vulnerable patients. This bastard spoke to me in an incredibly rude and condescending way while I was in visible pain during a root canal. Instead of showing any empathy or professionalism, he raised his voice, called me childish, threatened me, and dismissed my concerns. It was humiliating, unprofessional, and made an already painful procedure even more traumatic. I would say I wish xyz on him, but since I can tell his life is already horrible - I truly hope it stays the same and none of his circumstances change.

    The location

I received a referral for a root canal and found a list of providers on my insurance website. I called the office to explain that I needed a root canal and went over the details of my referral. I attended my appointment today, and they conducted only a consultation, despite my prior explanation. When the doctor came in, they informed me that my insurance would not cover the procedure. I called my insurance, and they assured me that the procedure is covered, but the approval process takes 5 to 14 days. Additionally, there was no record of One Dental Stop submitting the necessary request. It's clear that the reviews about this office were accurate. I wish I had seen them before, but I was in so much pain that I didn't think to check. This experience was a complete waste of my time, and my search for a provider continues.

Today I had a surgery scheduled for an extraction. I went because I had been in pain for days, but I received the worst care I have ever experienced. They discriminated against me, denied me service, and yelled at me for not speaking English. Now I have to go home still in pain.

SCAMMERS They claim they accept Medicaid but then when u get in office they try to offer you unnecessary procedures that happen to not be covered by insurance. (And try to get you to sign up for care credit to pay for it.) Office is dirty and small and they have more than one location. They change the name to try to get away with this. They need to be shut down immediately!

Environment is very comfortable Dr. Steinbach was the first doctor when I was visiting right after covid ended because I had a root canal during covid that needed a crown. He was very honest with me and told me I would need an implant. It was a very dramatic news for me but they were wonderful. I was referred out to the close by ortho dentist and the came back to get my crown. The entire experience was straight forward and easy. They never tried to upsell me anything. My only issue with this location is the Dental Cleaning. After finishing up the issues with my teeth, I had a dental cleaning and it was extremely painful. I thought it was just normal when I started visiting the Court Side location since it was more convenient for me, Dr. Karpova did my cleaning was literally pain free. I assumed it was cause maybe previously I had dirty teeth This month I did cleaning at this location again since it was convenient and since I been keeping up with all my cleanings it wouldnt be too bad. No, it was very rough and felt rushed. I did not feel comfortable at all. I might try court street again for cleaning, but if its still painful I think I will switching for cleaning. However for other procedures where the actual dentist is working on it, I would absolutely recommend this place.

I am SO thankful for Dr. Hoang after an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at Prospect Heights Dental…read more(which you can read all about at their Yelp page). After a practice that didn't take covid seriously, did an unnecessary and COSTLY dental procedure that I am still healing from weeks later, hurting my lip, and being just a complete disorganized disaster, I'm really lucky that my second shot at dentistry was so much better. I prefaced in my last review that I made the mistake of not going to the dentist for a long time - granted, I didn't have insurance for 6 months and then the moment I got insurance, covid happened and I got scared. But still, it's reasonable I had a ton of build up/tartar/gum disease and definitely a wake up call for me. At the last dentist, I was told immediately I needed a root and scaling/deep clean without them even doing the measurement thing on my gums, just x-rays. They did the root and scale on my right side but not my left (only one is done at a time), which has left me weeks later with angry miserable gums, gaps in my teeth I didn't prior have, and cost me $500 out of pocket. When I got to Dr. Hoang, she actually took her time examining my x-rays, my gums, and my mouth to find that 1) the deep clean didn't even deep clean, as I still had a bunch of tartar making my gums even more unhappy and 2) my gums weren't as bad as I had thought, and I didn't even need to do a root and scaling/deep clean on the left side. If I had gone to Dr. Hoang in the first place, I wouldn't be still miserable, with ugly and uncomfortable gaps in my teeth that I literally struggle to talk and eat with, and wouldn't be out $500 as all she did was a regular cleaning for me on the left. My biggest disappointment is I didn't go to her first. On top of that she's super sweet, lets you ask questions, doesn't make you feel bad about your obvious mistakes, and makes sure you fully feel comfortable before she does anything. Thank you so much for restoring my faith in dentistry. The practice is also great!!! Sallie from reception was very pleasant over the phone and email, and I'm not sure if it was her or a different receptionist at the front today, but she was great too. Everyone is wearing masks and taking Covid very seriously. They sent out a covid form the night before and took my temperature when I arrived. And...... last thing, they were playing Death Cab for Cutie when I walked in. As a born and raised Seattleite, this made me so happy :)

Here is my story: I have had pain (especially while eating) in a particular tooth for the past 10 years post root canal and crown. One dentist suggested that I should extract the tooth and do bridgework to replace the missing tooth because I had a cyst under my jawline that could possibly paralyze one side of my face. Imagine that. Another dentist told me that I did not really have a cyst but I would have to do gum surgery to clean out the area. Not so scary. The last dentist told me I had a 'problem'. Really?! How descriptive. I already made up my mind to extract the tooth, but I was not thrilled about this decision. I decided to go to Dr. Brown and he was able to figure out the problem in an instant. My crown was too high resulting in too much pressure while biting. This caused further inflammation in my gums thus pain. He shaved down my crown and as soon as I did the 'bite test', I did not feel pain anymore. After my x-ray, he was also able to tell me that I did not have a cyst and the only aftercare needed was a cleaning. He reassured me that I would no longer feel pain, and he was correct. Pain free. Woo hoo! It is always refreshing to find a health care professional who takes the time to LISTEN to your concerns and deliver a simple solution. I have a peace of mind knowing that I do not have to lose my tooth or shell out any more hard earned unnecessary cash to fix it. He is a winning combination of book smarts and common sense which makes my life so much easier.
