Apart of being a nice lady,Monika is far from a hair professional. My highlights came up in 2 brassy colors, she left the roots untouched and demaged my hair to a point I will have to shave it and let it grow all over again. After over 400 dollars I had the worst experience in my life.

If Jason Bourne, a Kaua'i fire dancer, and a geometry professor had a baby and gave him clippers…read moreforged inside a volcano, you'd get Chanson Hawelu. This man isn't a barber. He's a face sculptor with Homeland Security clearance. I called same-day like a desperate man spiraling toward scruff-based identity collapse. Chanson said, "Pull up." Within an hour, I was in his chair, already questioning how I ever trusted anyone else with my facial topography. It's like the gods of grooming whispered in his ear: "Make room. There's a beard that needs redemption." Now, my skin is ridiculously sensitive. It once filed an HR complaint after a light breeze touched my jaw. But Chanson? His touch is lighter than the ego of a monk on mushrooms. He lined me up with the tenderness of someone brushing crumbs off a baby's cheek. And yet somehow... My beard lines came out sharper than an isosceles triangle drawn with a protractor blessed by Pythagoras himself. This man did math on my face. Geometry. Symmetry. Divine proportion. At one point, he paused mid-trim and said, "Trust me." Next thing I know, he tilts my head 17 degrees and unlocks my actual jawline. It was like finding out you've been sitting on a winning lottery ticket your whole life... but the ticket was your cheekbone structure. When he spun me toward the mirror, the room went silent. A slow clap broke out. Someone in the waiting area started crying. The raccoon that lives in the alley took off his little hat and whispered, "Respect." My beard? Symmetrical. Powerful. Possibly legally binding. I left that shop with main character energy, a straighter spine, and unsolicited compliments from strangers in Teslas. My jawline now has opinions. It votes. It started an LLC. Vibes in the shop? Chill. Execution? Flawless. Ego? Zero. Just a man from Kaua'i who trims like a Jedi, fades like a surgeon, and probably hears in barbershop frequency. 21/10. Book him now before he's flown back to the island by royal decree to trim the King of Polynesia. He didn't just clean me up, He gave my beard a storyline.

Everyone from the reception team to the other stylists makes an effort to say hello and make you feel comfortable. One of my favorite parts of the experience is the hot towel service. It's a small touch, but it makes every visit feel a little more special. Five years later, I'm still coming back regularly. My barber suggested I try a bald fade and I went with it even though I was used to basic haircuts my whole life. He also said if I let him try shaping my beard, it could look nice, so I tried that too, since I had never tried seeing what I looked like with a beard. Alex and all the barbers always take care of me and keep my fade and beard looking right. They are always professional, courteous, funny, chill, and on top of how to be the best barbers they can be. TL;DR : I had a terrible experience…read more I was basically left with an A-line-Bob-shag, after walking in with shoulder length hair. I just wanted to keep some flow and bring the length up. I had to get my hair recut the very next day, as I had a week full of work meetings. The redo haircut was done at another men's salon which is wear I learned there was major issues with the lengths at the back of the head. It was BAD They said it looked like the stylist from Eddie's went too short on his guide and tried to blend it in. In order to even that mistake out, the redo haircut had to be even shorter. After growing out my hair for nearly 10 months... I was left with short hair and paying for two haircuts back to back. I reached out to management for a refund and to let them know what happened; the only solution was to offer a recut with another stylist. I would prefer not to return. Other red flags: 10 minutes late to start Haircut was advertised as 60 minutes and even after starting late, it was less than 30 minutes in and out of the chair. The stylist immediately went into questions about how often I washed my hair and if I liked short hair or long hair better, after I had just explained that I wanted to keep it longer since it was growing it out. He also did not style my hair or suggest any tips on how to style it, and at first I figured it looked good tucked behind ears, but when I got home to wash I could see the major issues in lengths.
