First: order the appetizer plate for two, it was loaded w cheese, Salami, Spec, Bread etc. I had the omelette w bacon for dinner. That too was excellent . Well, we were in France, so the requirement turned into good and easy because there is no quick. We were seated on the patio (most of the restaurant is patio) in the midst of a lively lunch crowd. Our service was good and everything we ordere fit the need and the expectation perfectly. We split some salad, some fries, some cheese and some sausages. All very good. Then for dessert a crepe. This was not a great meal and the patio is a bit hot, but it was still a perfect launch into the French atmosphere. It totally fit the need.

It is not well marked from the highway and entering the gate you are still not sure what you have. But inside the atmosphere is designed to mimic 1950's US diners. There is indoor seating, but the fun is outside where there are a series of covered areas (chalets) with tables, many with themes, such as carousel-type animals for children to sit on. Given the atmosphere, we had no idea what the food would be like. Our party ordered various burger combinations or the quiche & salad, which were daily specials. All of them came out quickly, hot, and fresh. The staff was very friendly and spoke enough English to be helpful for the hapless American visitors. The beer was cold and the prices reasonable. So, for "something completely different", that was open on a Sunday (!), give Chalet de la Frite a try! It was an unexpectedly fun experience!
