If you're ever visiting Caen, please make a stop at Boeuf and Cow. You won't be disappointed! Good service, even better food...what more can you ask for? I made a reservation for 7PM on Tripadvisor through The Fork. Not sure if we would've had to wait without one but better safe than sorry. They open right at 7PM and the restaurant felt full already. To try as much food as possible, I went with their prix fixe menu with an appetizer, main course, and dessert. It's more expensive but you'll get a lot of food! The menus were in French so make sure you have a translator downloaded on your phone. Os À Moelle Rôti (Roasted Bone Marrow): I thought each item would be a smaller version compared to a la carte but they gave two huge bones. To the point where I was getting a little overwhelmed by all the fatty marrow but at least there was free bread to balance it out. These bone marrows were cooked deliciously...and it came with this balsamic glaze (?) that I ended up keeping to use on everything else. Filet de boeuf Français (Beef Filet): If you're used to medium rare back in United States, you'll want to order your beef medium. Medium rare here is pretty raw in my opinion. It was still good but I would've enjoyed it more if it was cooked more. I didn't want to send it back though and look dumb lol. To save you time, filet is the tenderloin area of the cow...an area that isn't used often, resulting in a more tender cut. Crème Brûlée: Comes out on fire which caramelizes the layer of sugar beautifully. Besides that wow factor in the beginning, there wasn't much to it. I didn't even finish it because of how full I was but I would've tried harder if it tasted amazing. Overall, a delicious meal and I would come back if I'm ever in the area! read more

Found this place on a whim via the Yelp app. This restaurant was amazing. We visited this restaurant twice on our 4-day visit to Normandy. The food was perfect and service was over the top.
