I have sold here several times, my expectations are always low but I'm decently satisfied, they take newer and packaged thing typically - but it's usually stuff I have nothing else to do with so it works for me. I call before I bring items in because everyday they stop buying at a certain time. I anticipate for it to be a few hours so I drop my stuff and come back before they close. This is a great place to find gently used clothes and toys for your little ones. They grow so fast as it is no point in paying full price. I love the fact that I can sell some of the items my child didn't use much to recoup some of what I spent especially when they grow out of them so quickly! Needs to understand that you need more than one cashier when the store is packed with employees. There are about 5 customers and 5 employees. One person's ringing people up as the line grows. Watch your batteries! I took some items in to sell, chose not to sell an item that was operational when I took it in and once I got home discovered the batteries had been taken out of the toy. How or why that would happen when appraising them for sale is beyond me and is disappointing. read more

If I could put zero stars I would. I waited 10 minutes at the cash register while 3 employees were looking for a item that not one customer was waiting for. Finally, I said, "I'm ready to check out." Then to the left of me was 2 other employees who also could have easily checked me out. The women came up to check me out and was incredibly slow. Also, had no idea how to use the register. Ugh I could go on but honestly it was a mess. The women continued to argue over a item they could not find while the employee who was checking me out couldn't figure out how to work the register. Just sell your stuff online. You'll get more for the bundles you create. There's no need to go through the hassle with these guys especially if they're not even taking the time to look thoroughly. Also, how are items out of style? Some of the things I've seen on their shelf seemed like it was kept in the closet for many years ago and brought back on the shelf Bc of the season so don't tell me my stuff is out of style lady when these clothes were bought less than 6 months ago. I would love to know how in the world the employees are trained to buy/accept clothing. After walking around the store for 20 minutes while an employee went through a box of clothes I brought in, I decided to browse their inventory. Disgusting. I wondered why I stressed about washing and going through all the clothes I decided to consign. Most clothes had stains on them, looked to be washed 5000 times, or were from years ago. I realize that kids are rough on clothes and grow out of them quickly, but have SOME standards on what you accept. Frankly I'm not sure why many people shop for clothes at this place. There's a Kohl's in the same parking lot that has brand new clothes for cheaper. Also, this store smells terrible. Don't go in if you're pregnant. read more

Would not recommend!! They will have you wait for 3-4 hours, just for them to say that they will NOT purchase anything. I brought in around six items, all practically NEW!! And they simply said "it's dirty", when half of the stuff they sell is dirty and try to sell it like new! I frequent this store like maybe once a month because my preemie grows do quickly. I would not recommend selling any items (I won't go into detail) but buying if you have time can be worth it. No more than 2 stars for this place and I'm sure that doesn't coincide with my frequency. Sometimes the clothes and more so the shoes are not clean and can be extremely worn. I know its all used but my goodness that doesn't have to mean stained, dingy, and faded. The staff doesn't do anything but stand behind the counter and gossip (very loudly). And its always so much staff which doesn't make sense because the processes are so slow. I really just go here for the sales and deals. That's the only reason for 2 stars. read more

I would say that the majority of clothing in the store is catered towards very small children. As the size increases, the amount of available merchandise decreases. However, if you are looking for something specific, or perhaps a pair of tap shoes, this is definitely the place to go. I gave a 1 star because for the first time ever the cashier was extremely nice and very informative. However overall this place is awful. I was the 2nd person to sign in at 10am and it took them over 2hrs to go through my box and this wasn't because they were being thorough. As I shopped close to the register, I watch the sorter skip through one of bags. She didn't even open it. I had a full bag of Nike shoes(almost brand new shoes) that they didn't look at. When I went through their shoes they had a lot of shoes that were in worse conditions then the ones I brought. The sorters were busy talking about personal issues that we could all hear. They had someone who lost her voice trying to ring someone out. When another customer asked her to repeat herself her co-worker got upset that he even asked. I don't think the customer realized that she lost her voice. This will be the last time I visit this place. I would rather drive to Concord. read more

DO NOT GO HERE to sell items. It's not even about the cash , I was open to donating but the girl was so rude ! Short , slightly heavy set , Hispanic girl . Didn't get a name but she should NOT be in customer service! She shouldn't be around the public or customers period. Very disappointed. Was told it would be a 45 minute wait and as I stepped back I heard other customers complain about how rude she was to them too , so I left! Won't be back ! I wish the business good luck ! With our first child a mere 4 months away, my wife and I were given a gift card to Once Upon a Child. This is a consignment baby/children store! Given that kids grow so quickly and do nothing but puke and make a mess of any clothing you put them in, good quality used clothing sounded smart. I was amazed at the amount of stuff this place offered, as well as the age range they cover. Going from newborn, all the way through toddler, with toys, clothes, play pen's, changing table, car seats, and just about everything else you could think of. We picked up 9 "onesies" for a little more than $12, everything was in REALLY good shape, no stains, rips, or tears. The staff was very friendly, asking your generic, when is the baby due, boy or girl questions to make conversation. Seeing as there stock changes constantly, we got a few things, and decided to come back and check out what comes in new! Now there are definitely a few things I would buy only new, this place is great for everything else! read more

I would not recommend this to anyone. Sure the prices are great for buying, but if you are selling don't bother! I went to sell my 2 garbage bags of clean clothes on Saturday and they were too busy to deal with me. They asked me to come back once they could go through the bags. I was not able to get back (because they're about 30 mins away from work or home) until the following Wednesday after work. I walked up to the counter to inquire about getting the money and any clothes they didn't want (Maybe there was a stain I missed or something they had too many of?). I was told to stand in the mile long check out line. After waiting in line for nearly 20 minutes I walk up to the counter. I tell the rep I dropped off two bags of clothing this past Saturday and I think that's them behind her. She asks my last name and promptly looks passed the bags I pointed at to look through the rest of the shelves - twice - only to come back to the bags I pointed at and realizes they're mine. She then tells me that they will not take them because they aren't clean. I tell her I would not bring in dirty clothes and that I washed every piece of clothing in those bags. Now she clarifies and states that it's because there is dog fur on some of the pieces and so they can't take any of them. I have looked online at the website and I looked at all of the signage in the store there is nothing about rejecting clothes for fur. Don't get me wrong: I get it. But they had had the clothes since Saturday and no one bothered to call me to inform me they couldn't accept them for that reason and to pick the clothes up at my earliest convenience. I went in expecting at least most of the clothes to stay and money in my pocket. I felt like a fool and it was a complete waste of my time/gas money. read more

I have given this location a 4 star off of the simple fact that I love the prices at Once Upon a Child, and I am glad they are here! I haven't had any problems with the staff, and everyone seems pretty friendly. They can always improve in the customer service dept. though, that's for sure! Usually don't have a problem with them, have gone multiple times. The other day I went in with a very big box of clothes and watched the redhead lady "go through them" she literally took everything out of the box stood there and talked to her co worker, laughed for a minute, got on her phone and then put all the clothes back in the box and was done. They told me they didn't accept any of the clothes because they were an older style and had stains. Anything that had stains I threw away I wouldn't try to sel stained clothes for one for two most of the clothes still had tags on them and I've only had these baby clothes for 6months to a year..old style? Not a good experience at all if going through clothes is your job please do your job and actually go through them. read more

If I could choose zero stars I would! Went in and dropped a relatively small basket off. Was told to come back in 45 minutes, came back in an hour. Was told to come back in 20 minutes, came back in 30 minutes. Still not ready. So I shopped around a little bit. The two girls behind the counter were literally talking about their nails and not working at all. Standing there chitchatting about whatever!! This is for the Independence location in Charlotte, NC. This place is worst than a pawn shop! I went today and took a Arm's Reach co-sleeper, Baby Trend pack n play, and a vibrating napper. All items together were over $400, and I checked Amazon and Ebay prices before I went. I got a measly $83!!! While I was cashing out the manager changed my price to $75. I wasn't expecting a gold mine. I would have taken the items back with me but I didn't feel like taking them back down and lugging them around. Items were in great/new like condition because my baby rarely used them! I was told I had to put them together there. I put them together and no staff offered to help me and I had my 4 month old daughter with me. Save your money, items, and time because this place is NOT worth it. This palce is terrible. Staff are extremly RUDE and treat you as if you are second class if you bring things in to sell which is rediculous considering it is a second hand shop and it should be laid back. I expect that treatment at Soutpark because I'm not rich and don't look rich so I know they'll treat me as such so I do not go there. I do not expect that treatment from a CONSIGNMENT shop. The woman who assisted me had a f*ck you look on her face the entire time. It's no wonder at her age (she looked to be in her 40's, or late 30's with a REALLY rough life) that the only job she can get is at a consignment shop, probably making minimum wage. They talk amongst themselves as if you are not even there.Their clothes are ratty. I brought in my daughter's old clothes, mostly 10's. They are all higher end stuff because her grandparents are able to afford that stuff. No holes in the jeans, all very good condition because she is in a uniform school and her regular clothes don't get worn. What I brough in definitely looked better than what they had on their shelf. They bought 2 pairs of pants, and a dress for $9. I absolutely cannot beleive they didn't but the jeans, they look way better than their offerings. I truly do not understand why they didn't buy them, their condition was excellent. I will never go back here to shop or sell. read more
