Once Upon a Child is a great place to buy children's clothing, toys, etc. This store is very useful for parents or anyone wishing to buy high end items for kids and not spend a fortune. It is also useful if you want to sell some of your child's old items that they never wore, or are in good shape. The clothing section is not what one would expect. While these items are technically pre-owned, most of the items look as if they have never been worn. Many still have tags and cost significantly less than new. There are also some real bargains to be found in the toy and stroller sections. There was a $300 jogging stroller that looked brand new for $75. There were also motorized cars, bouncers, high chairs, and all other kinds of kid type items. I highly recommend this store. If you're a guy, you will feel out of place (when I went, I was the only guy), but for the money you save, who cares? read more

They charge a fortune for everything. Compare prices before buying anything here because it's highly likely you can find it brand new for same price or even less than they charge. And don't waste your time trying to sell them anything. They either don't want it or don't want to give you anything for it, even in like new condition. Once Upon a Child has a good selection. I never shop second hand expecting miracles. They are very good at providing solid items -clothing, toys, little shoes at good prices that are clean and not overused. I have never tried to sell my little's clothes here, but I love to get them little dresses, toys, etc. Also have bought nice gifts. :) read more

I like buying from them but selling to them is a nightmare. Everything I go to sell to them they either tell me my stuff is too stained or they won't give me the right price for practically new items. I've taken excellent care of all of my baby's clothes, so I did an experiment. I bought a few outfits from them one day then, just to see if they'd buy it back, brought them back the next day to sell. They wouldn't buy them back because they were "too worn out and stained". What? How can you say something that I bought from your store that has never even been worn, at least by my child, too worn. They obviously didn't think it was too worn when they originally bought it. Like I said the clothes to buy are okay but I wouldn't recommend selling to them. You won't get much for what your selling and you'll end up pretty frustrated. read more

I have been there a few times, noticed some pretty bad things to say the least. So yeah they buy clothes and that's great but they buy it for probably 1/4 of what you originally paid, then sell it retail price or more if they know they can get away with it. Also, every time I went it seemed to have a lingering smell of body odor and mold. There was dirty diapers all over the floor in the bathroom,! and the "employees" are Consistently rude, oh and obviously don't wear deodorant. I've seen them crash the clothes that people bring in, half ass. Cbrrr Would you want you're child or grand baby playing with another kids germs?!! And hell they will sell "as is" to people as well meaning if any clothes have a button missing, a hole, a stain.. etc. the same go for just about everything there too. Lord bless their hearts! My daughter and I were checked out by an incredibly rude and impatient little girl by the name of Katie. She acted completely annoyed and totally put out that we had the nerve to walk up to her register to buy or selections. When I told her I wasn't going to get some of the items she rolled her eyes, let out a deep breath & gave me a sarcastic smirk. There was no one behind us in line or even in the store so I have no earthly idea what the rush was all about. I've always been greeted politely by the staff. You can't beat the prices. We live on one income and have three kids, but my kids are always dressed to the nines because of this place. Ok so I have seen terrible reviews on them buying baby stuff. I have seen many reviews about store is crappy and employees were rude. I was skeptical about going to this place to sell my stuff or even stop by to look at their stuff. Well I am glad I went. They were very nice and polite. I brought them like 10 boxes of stuff and they kept 3 blue bins full. They stated it may be an hour or so. So I told them to call me and I will come get them. They clearly told me I have 24 hours to pick boxes up which I thought was completely reasonable. When I went back, she explained y she didn't take the other things which she really did not have too because it is their buisiness. They don't have to take anything. Anyway her reasons made complete since. Some things don't sell well for them, they don't take Gerber brand, etc. The staff was very nice. They store was very clean and organized. They have some great stuff With that said, every business has a bad day short staff and frustrations but don't judge them on one bad experience. Loved this place. I will def. be back. read more

YES YES YES...I'm definitely a fan of Once Upon a Child in Mandeville. I've been in and out of numerous child consignment stores and this is, hands down, one of the best I've shopped in. I'm in this place at least once a week looking for deals. With two little girls, I find something almost every time I'm in there. They categorize all their clothing by size, then what kind of clothing, then usually by color. It's amazing!!! This store is my favorite for seeking out high end boutique clothing that others paid high prices for. I can usually find super cute clothes from Gap, Ralph Lauren, MudPie, etc as well as many cute smocked pieces. I wouldn't buy basic play clothes like Target or Carters from here because they'll end up costing you about the same as if you bought them from the store. You just never know what you'll find in Once Upon a Child which is why I love it so much, I guess. I walked in one time and they had a whole baby accessories section set up with Baby Deer and Mudpie stuff, all with tags still on it! It turns out a kids boutique upstate had closed and they brought all their unsold stuff to the Mandeville store. Overall, a very pleasant shopping experience if you like finding deals!!! read more

if you are in the BABY business you would want to accommodate mothers and their children! i couldn't even get int he door with my stroller! and if i could have i wouldn't have been able to get around the store. it was very cluttered and the people were not too friendly! i brought 4 pair of the brand new GAP jeans that were never worn. they excepted one pair and denied the other 3 ?????? and to boot this took an HOUR. read more
