But unfortunately I can't recommend this store due to feeling unwelcomed and judged. Not sure if it was because I'm a minority or because I was casually dressed, but every look from the staff seemed to be a quick scan to my hands and pockets to make sure I'm not stealing anything. It was incredibly uncomfortable and offensive. Which is too bad, since my daughter would have loved that store and I would have loved to purchase a few items there. Oh well, I can find those same items elsewhere and save some money and the hassle.

I was so impressed with the experience that, while I don't often buy children's clothing, I will ALWAYS check out Little Sprouts before I go anywhere else! Rose, the woman working the evening I went, greeted me the second I walked through the door, and then never left my side! I had lots of questions about children's sizes and what their mother would appreciate (for instance, should I steer clear of white?). Rose answered all of my questions, using both her own experience as a mother and anecdotes from other customers. After asking about my price range and seeing pictures of both girls, Rose began grabbing outfits from all over the place...she even pulled outfits off of displays for me to look at. She did a fantastic job of showing me enough options to explore a variety, but not so much that I became overwhelmed. Once we settled on outfits, she rang me up and walked me to the door. We actually stood there and had a nice conversation...and I commented that I would definitely be back when it was time for more children's clothing. About this time, I realized that I had kept her well past closing time, and promptly apologized. Rose laughed, and told me it was no problem...I had questions, and she was more than happy to take the time to help! I will definitely be going back!

If I hadn't just spent a ton of money around the block I probably would have tried out one of the brands here for my boy, since they did have some more stuff in brands I hadn't heard of. As I talked to the clerk about how cute things were and how hard it was to decide, she snubbed me and grabbed the items and started ringing them up. I told her I was still deciding and to help the next person. Once I decided, she rang up my items. I asked if she could gift wrap and she snapped that there was no gift wrapping during the sidewalk sale. I said ok, but could I have a piece of the ribbon they usually use? Once again snapped, " no, we aren't doing any of that!" Another clerk came in and the first one was busy with another customer. I asked second clerk if it was be possible to get a box so that I could wrap my gift myself. The first clerk yelled across the counter and said I already told you we aren't doing any of that. Maybe she was annoyed by me, but I nicely asked and I believe I was kind to her. I told her she could try to be nicer. Once again, she rudely snapped , "I was nice!" My happy mood when I walked in disolved immediately. Maybe a sign should've been posted that during the sidewalk sale they won't give boxes or a gift wrap and the gift wrap could be put away in the back. With today's online ordering trend, I would think that the store would want to be especially nice to its customers. I understand it's very hard to run a small business in this day and age. These cards were sold in a neat boutique store near where I used to live, and I stock up on them whenever I find them. Perfect for all occasions. The Orange Tree also sells perfect gift items - including ND items that are made right from parts of the stadium. My brother-in-law is a semi-professional tennis player, and I found a bottle opener, made from the grip of a genuine wooden tennis racquet. It was the perfect gift for him, and I was delighted to see him excited to see him trying to match the grip of the former owner as he inspected his new functional keepsake.
