Onboard Games + Gastro Pub is a fairly new boardgame cafe at the heart of Circuit Makati. The good thing about onboard is they have big tables made specifically for gaming with a shelf under the table.
Their menu is an assortment of gamer food (appetizers) to our international favorites.
Nacho Hai!! Its one of my favorites here, fried wanton skins topped with soy marinated tuna cubes. It's Ahi Poke on top of chips! The combination of Japanese mayo, tuna, tobiko, nori gave this dish to a new heights. I would just preder it with corn chips instead of wanton skins to prevent it from sogging quickly.
OnBoard seafood fry is a combination of all things battered. Sole fillet, squid, eggplant, and oyster mushrooms that is fried to golden. I like the natural flavor of things but I find the batter less airy than expected, thus it absorbs more oil tad 'nakakaumay'.
Bourbon Baby Back Ribs! Soft, tender pork ribs slathered with a thick, rich, sweet, tangy bbq sauce. Its just as good as it gets. The corn was covered in rich mayonnaise then rolled in herbs. Similar to the Mexican elote, but whipped butter is better than mayo, if we're talking about fat. Mayo tends to overpower the sweetness of the corn and masks everything in your mouth, if used in that quantity (like lots of it).
Nutella Pizza. It's not my first time to have this, its pizza bread with nutella, fresh strawberries and banana. The bread itself was tough and gummy and was hard to eat.
Their juice with perilla seeds is very refreshing. I forgot what its called, but the maroon one, cranberry?
They have better food compared to 'some' of the boardgame cafe in the metro, to where i've been to. They just need to improve on some things to make it better. The sad thing about boardgame cafes, they would concentrate on filling their shelves with game titles and forget about food quality & taste.
In time, Circuit Makati would be a dining destination in the near future. At Onboard, people can Eat, Play, and Have Fun all day long.
