All I got were renewal notices and higher insurance premiums. When my guesthouse was dropped from coverage I was blamed. I was told one of my staff had contacted the company directly and warned them of our use as a short term rental. Not one phone call. Only a letter from the insurance company. Until I called several times in one day, close to the expiration date, was anything done. Then, he gave me the number of someone to call instead of working on the problem from his office. What poor customer loyalty and service. I was so insulted that I've moved all of our policies to a broker who comes by the house, shows me how to save a few dollars, and reads through all the paperwork with me so I know what is insured, and how it is insured. I never got that from Costello. NEVER. The only reason I give this company one star is because I didn't have the heart to give them NONE, which is how I really feel after all this time.

Susanne destroyed our bank's best offer by half a point and our closing costs ended up being substantially (a few thousand dollars) lower than they would have been with B of A. Susanne got us our loan quickly, through a major lender (so major I'm sure you've heard of them). From a strictly dollar perspective, she rocked - and with no upfront cost for us to pay (her fees were rolled into closing) we felt like it was a win-win. And she delivered a level of service that I wish we would have seen from our realtor. She answered calls and emails quickly and completely. She never hesitated to give us the straight dope on where we were in the process. She always was forthright about why she needed a particular piece of information - and since we did a full doc loan, we needed to provide a LOT of information. She was more than willing to drive down to San Francisco to drop off paperwork when we needed her to do so. And when closing time came, she was there, walking us through the process, explaining documents, and making us feel more comfortable with all of it. She knew more about what was happening than our realtor did and I don't know how we would have felt if she hadn't been there with us. All he did was pass our particulars onto Quicken and Lending Tree, who proceeded to run 3 and 2 credit reports respectively (and one for Mike himself, so 6 total in two weeks!) and then come back and see that he couldn't do anything for us, but because we had so many hard hits on our credit score now we would probably have to wait at least 6 months, if not a year, before we tried again. 4 months later we found a reputable lender, told him the story and he said "i wish you would have come to me the next day. Those kind of hits don't matter." Thanks a lot, Mike O'Reilly, you cost us at least 1/2%. Susan Brown may be great, if you get Mike O'Reilly STAY AWAY!
