The Bit…read morePlayers is a great evening activity, reasonably priced at $18 per ticket, BYOB and bring your own food, too. We got a box of Crab Rangoons from Ching Tao down the street, and sat in the first row nibbling away. The show is a fast paced 80 minute romp with no intermission. The troupe takes suggestions from the audience for the skits, and hilarity ensues. If you are celebrating a special occasion, they may even call you up from the audience for a personalized skit of your own! The Bit Players excel particularly in their song-prov sketches, I have been coming to these shows for years and the ability to make up verses on the fly never fails to impress. JT and Danny stole the show the night we went with their Shakespearean sketch about Chuck E Cheese.. still laughing over some of the great lines! I would recommend this night out to folks ages 14+, as the humor skews to a PG-13-ish range. That being said, if you're looking for a fun and different activity, the Bit Players is worth a visit!

Choir choir choir Fleetwood Mac sing a long was not good. Would not recommend going. Thought…read morelyrics would be on a screen for the audience to sing. Instead the two men on stage were talking about themselves and one making inappropriate references about sex. There were children in the audience. They just kept talking. Left after 45 minutes. It's unfortunate and misleading in advertising. Save your money and stay home.

Our friend who lives in Providence discovered the Wilbury Theatre Group completely by accident, as…read moreshe was looking for activities for us to do during our visit. We managed to catch the opening night showing of Once while we were in town and really enjoyed ourselves. I believe it's first-come-first-served seating, so I do recommend coming early if you want a specific seat. We were a little bit late and arrived about 15 minutes before the show and somehow managed to get the last 3 seats together. The show was great - it felt like very intimate, which was a completely different experience to my first time seeing Once, which was on Broadway in a huge theater.

I booked a day with my niece for the Hocus Pocus painting as a way to spend time together. The venue is right near some fantastic restaurants and parking is easy to find. We arrived and got checked in. Some late comers caused a late start, but we didn't have any timeframe to abide by. The host of the paint day, Bridget, put on Hocus Pocus to have in the background while we painted! She was very organized and gave very clear instructions. We had a great time and I think this is one of my favorite painting venues. It is BYOB for those who are of age, and just remember that anything you bring in must be consumed by the end of the paint event. If you love painting events like I do, or you've never tried one before like my niece, I highly recommend Painting at Splash in New Bedford!
