My Experience with Upper Deck Roofing - A Cautionary Review…read more In April 2025, I hired Upper Deck Roofing after positive reviews and confirming they were a preferred Owens Corning contractor. I paid my deposit on 4/2. Shortly after they raised the price due to a measurement error, which I accepted. The first roof install occurred on 4/24--but I immediately noticed problems. They had improperly reinstalled my TruGuard gutter system by nailing it directly through the new shingles. Initially, Jake Calvert (owner) denied it. Only after I showed video proof did they acknowledge it. Owens Corning and TruGuard later confirmed in writing this method was improper and damaging. I was told it voided warranty coverage. Jake shifted blame, claiming a vague email was warning enough. A rep from their team admitted they should've told me to have the guards removed. After legal pressure, & refusing to sign a doc waiving consumer rights, a second full roof tear-off and new system install occurred on 5/28. The final roof looks good--but getting there involved months of denial, pressure, and emotional stress. This process cost me peace of mind, time off work, and trust. I'm sharing so others go in with eyes wide open. Video available. Proceed with caution.
