We contracted with On Shore Roofing in October, 2019 for a total roof replacement after talking to other homeowners inside a large golf community in Stuart who had their roofs replaced by them. Our experience was nothing but POSITIVE since signing the contract and until the tile roof arrived at their warehouse in Stuart. I called their office a few times to check on the status of the tile and Brenda and Shelly were always helpful in checking with the manufacturer on the status of the order. Once the tile arrived they called and set up a date to remove the existing roof tile and it was done very quickly. After the old tile was removed the process went very quickly to put the new roof on in less than two weeks! Rick, our On Shore Roofing site supervisor, was FANTASTIC with updates, taking pictures of each step, and staying in contact. He would answer text messages, calls and answer all questions!!! I would not recommend this roofing contractor based on my experience. We purchased a home that had that received a roof replacement completed by this company, only to discover multiple installation issues that should never have occurred on a new roof. A roof is one of the most important components of a home, and homeowners should be able to trust that a newly installed roof will protect their investment. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I expected professional craftsmanship and a quality finished product, but instead found deficiencies that required additional time, expense, and stress to address. After calling 4 roofing contractors in my area to come give me a quote fo a new roof and waiting weeks for a quote I called Onshore. The office staff was polite and had someone out the next day with the proposal in hand. I guess they did it from their satellite imaging program? The sales double checked a few things around my roof to make sure everything on the proposal was correct, filled me in on a few things I could change to make the roof system better and left and brochure pocket with me for when I ready to sign. He pressure me into signing that day. Which most of the others did. I decided the following week to go with OnShore and from start to finish they made the whole process very seamless and hassle free.. my new tile roof looks absolutely beautiful. I had a re-roof completed by OnShore Roofing 10/4/2021. The roof was installed at the height of the pandemic, so from signing the offer, until completion, took 7 months. The cost was approximately $25,000.00. After the completion of the re-roof, while in the attic space, I noted that the bathroom and dryer vents were no longer properly routed to the vents in the roof. When I contacted Onshore Roofing, they claimed not to have damaged any venting. I hired Dryer Vent Maintenance to repair the damaged venting at a cost of $700.00. In April 2021, I noted that the pointing in the Ridge Caps was developing cracks. As the cracks appeared to worsen, I contacted Onshore Roofing 5/13/2022, asking them to inspect the cracking in the pointing and repair the cracks under warranty. This began nearly 20 emails between Onshore Roofing and me, attempting to get someone to inspect the cracks. During this period, Onshore Roofing claimed their repair/warranty crew was unavailable, due to sicknesses in the workplace (flu, COVID, etc.) or other higher priority warranty repairs. A representative from Onshore Roofing finally inspected my roof on 11/3/2021, although the representative did not talk to me, but simply took pictures and left. On 11/8/2021, another OnShore Roofing representative stopped by my house. I was able to meet with this representative. I informed him that the other worker took pictures of the roof issues. During our conversation, the supervisor told me that he did not believe the cracks in the pointing were normal. Another round of communications with Onshore Roofing began (six message over a month), with me continuously asking for plans to fix my roof. Finally, on 12/5/2022, the Office Manager informed me, "When I spoke to a field supervisor about your work order on Friday he told me that the crack on the ridge is a settlement issue and not warranty. I am going to check with another to see what they say. I'll let you know what I have found out." I then requested OnShore Roofing provide me a formal report of their findings. After OnShore Roofing failed to provide an official report of their findings for two weeks, I filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB provided Onshore Roofing a copy of my complaint, and we had some communication facilitated by the BBB. OnShore Roofing sent another representative out to my home, and finally, through the BBB process, OnShore Roofing again claimed the cracks in the pointing were due to the home settling and they considered the matter closed. Our home was built in 1998. The original roof was concrete tile. It is highly unlikely that the cracks in the ridge cap pointing was caused by settling of the home, especially over a five-month period. The color of the pointing, which is supposed to be brick colored to match the tile, instead has a mottled appearance. The cracking and the appearance of the mortar indicate to me that the concrete was not mixed properly, and that caused the cracking in the pointing. Finally, there are no other indications that the house unexpectedly settled, such as cracks in floor tiles, walls, sidewalks, driveways, etc. I then had the roof inspected by Solace Roofing. The report indicates that the crack in the pointing "appears to be due to installation." I had a second Solace Roof representative inspect the cracking, and he also scoffed that the cracks were due to the home settling. When I asked about repairing the roof, by redoing the pointing, he informed me that such a repair would likely cost about as much as reroofing the home. I would never do business with this company in the future, nor would I ever recommend them to another person. read more

I cannot believe how terrible my experience with On Shore Roofing was. They are a complete scam. They will damage your house and then blame the damages on you. Even if you write in the contract that they are liable for damages to your gutter they will destroy your gutter and then refuse to pay for it. The owner of the company, Joe, actually called and yelled at me for 40 minutes about how I was taking advantage of him by expecting him to pay for his damages! He even threatened to put a lien on my house! Also, it took three weeks to get a final inspection by the city on my roof. Then they told me they would not get the final inspection until after I had paid the final bill! They demanded I pay for the job before they had inspected or they would put a lien on my house! The salesman, Tyler, is horribly rude and abusive. I have attached a screenshot of some text messages he sent to me to show how awful he is. Do not expect to get any kind of response from the office. They will continuously tell you someone is on a conference call or unavailable and that they will call you back but they will never call you back. I had to call them at least 40 times over the course of two weeks to even get to speak to someone with any kind of authority, who then just yelled at me on the phone And then literally told me what a terrible person I was and how I am an a-hole because I expected them to do their job and pay for things they broke. I repeat, they are a scam. You can see from the photo I attached that the salesman called me a "piece of shit" for refusing to make the final payment before the job was inspected by the city. Three weeks of abusive text messages and phone calls to get my job done right. They wrote in the contract that they would not damage my gutter, and then immediately toward off my house and told me "it fell off", then expected me to pay the $1000 to have it replaced! The salesman, Tyler, also did some shady underhanded carpentry on my roof and then told me I had to write a check to his personal account to pay for the carpentry repairs, then tried to scam me into paying extra to the company. He even tried to get me to pay him with PayPal!!! They kept pushing me to make cash payments instead of ACH bank transfers. Stay as far away from this company as you possibly can. We purchased a home that had a newer roof which was done by Onshore roofing. I reached out to the company about a fire hazard. I thought they may have stood behind their work but they did not. The dryer was suppossed to vent through the roof. The pipe was still there and it was tiled over instead if vented. The new dryer we have kept shutting off because the sensor said vent was restricted. This cost us $500 for their mistake. This should not have been missed but when making a mistake you should own up to it and make it right. They finally contacted me back. They offered to fix their mistake at my expense. We had a very minor leak after Onshore replaced our roof. After the deluge of springtime rain this year, the minor leak has grown significantly. When my husband called back in May, the woman explained that they were "slammed" due to the recent weather but that she would have an inspector out as soon as they could manage. My husband waited a month before calling them back to see if we had been lost in the shuffle so to speak. He dealt with a different woman who assured him that she had our information on her desk & that she would get ahold of the inspector & get back to us. He's called a couple times since & still nothing. I would not recommend anyone use this company as they are unreliable. read more

My husband and i are so unhappy with our experience with On Shore Roofing. We paid for a new roof one year ago and over that year we had a terrible leak that was in our grandsons bedroom that we really don't go in much as he is no longer with us.There was water in the outside ceiling and now there is possible mold in the walls. They came to fix the leak after i had to call over and over again and again and my husband had to go there and the owner would not speak to him. To this day they will not return calls or emails as to finishing the job with a hole outside in the ceiling and water damage inside the bedroom. Stay away from this company if at all possible. After interviewing many local roofing companies and doing a lot of due diligence we decided on OnShore roofing to remove and replace our roof in August 2020. The good and the bad. The good: The new roof looks great. But, here's the bad...they took NO effort in protecting our property, from an employee using gasoline to clean his hands killing an area on the lawn; we will forever to picking up roofing nails from the lawn, from storging all their equipment up against the side on the house causing damage to the Comcast cable switch leading into the house (NO cable/internet service for 5 days) if that's NOT BAD ENOUGH cracking/breaking the concrete driveway by a reckless dump truck driver causing thousands of $$ to repair. We wanted and got our roof replaced...WE didn't want to have to replace our driveway. Why hasn't our property secured?? The owner Joe Kolinoski takes NO responsibility is making any attempt to correct this issue. DID NOT respond to any email or letter addressed to him. So anyone reading this review..the end result, the roof looks great...BUT just be cautious. On the "star" rating I give 3, just because of all the issues and lack of support from the owner. read more

I am kicking myself for choosing this company. I will list just a "few" examples of issues I experienced. They took zero care to protect property by not covering up equipment (ac,) garden, driveway & gutters from debris, which there is a lot of. The pool gutter drains underground is now clogged and must be torn up and cleaned out. Their clean-up was a sick joke. I think I picked up more nails than they did. I had to constantly call and bring issues to their attention. I was told they would come back and clean the tar marks on my "just cleaned" driveway and a final inspection would be done, neither happened. Actually they did "show up" once to clean the tar marks only they forgot the cleaner to clean it. These tar marks don't come off with pressure washing. Sometimes, communication was a problem because the crew didn't speak English. Their contract requires 90% payment before they even start putting the new roof on. Not good. We will forever have issues with nails in the yard because they couldn't be bothered to cover anything up. Gutters were included in the contract but they don't do gutters. After waiting a week, I had to remind them I was to get gutters. Going without gutters for a month can really mess your elevations and destroy a garden. Between the clogged gutters, tar marks on driveway, and messed up gardens, we have a lot of extra work and all of it easily preventable. Again, you'll be sorry. I truly could go on and on. Do yourself a favor and by pass this company. They are about quantity not quality. I can only hope I have a decent roof. I sincerely believe any positive reviews are false due to their negligence and incompetence in so many areas. read more

They completely tore her roof off and used my property as their dumpster. Tried to speak to them and no one spoke english and boss was somewhere else! When I signed May 7th they estimated they were 10-12 weeks out. A few days after signing our roof started leaking and they responded in a reasonable amount of time to send someone to put a temporary patch on it. After 12 weeks had passed I contacted them by phone to ask where I was in the queue and they acted very indignantly- telling me I was calling too soon and that it hadn't been 12 weeks yet. It had been over 12 weeks. They said that they would have someone contact me with an estimate for when they would be putting on the new roof. At 16 weeks no one had contacted me- so I went into the office figuring they wouldn't be rude to me to my face. They were not- they were very nice and apologetic but after 21 weeks they had not been in contact with me at all. They took thousands of dollars for a deposit and the only thing I had received was a temporary patch on the roof. When they finally got around to doing the job they worked on the weekends and left me with a phone number to call that went unanswered and had a full voicemailbox so that I could not leave a message. I emailed them and they did not respond to that either. I sent them pictures of the damaged areas and they had the nerve to send me a final invoice to pay before they had responded to my concerns. They roofed over water damage around the chimney, left the gables looking like crap- soffits knocked out of place, and fascia looking like it was cut by a 3 year old. I have added pictures to my review of their page on Facebook under the name Chelsea Vincent- PLEASE look at them before you consider signing a contract with this company! They have assured me that they are going to fix it but I'm not going to hold my breath. read more

Onshore and its personnel displayed a high level of professionalism, were extremely responsive to all my needs and concerns, and stood 100% behind their work. Joe Kolinoski, the owner, of Onshore takes a very hands on approach to all aspects of the job. If a call back is necessary, he promptly returns calls; and if necessary has a crew onsite the next day. Several fly by night contractors underbid OnShore by a dollar or two and some of my neighbors have been fooled by these supposed savings. I am so disappointed in this company. I had them come give me a quote Monday July21, 2014. At that time I told them that I had to have the repair, which was minor, complete by August 3rd. I was selling the home and it was under contract, contingent on the roof repairs being completed by Aug. 3rd for a closing on Aug. 5th. I was assured that they would have the job done in plenty of time so I gave them a deposit check on Wednesday July 23. At that time I was told I only had 3 repairs ahead of mine and that they maybe able to get to my repair by Friday or first this Monday. I didnt hear from them so I called on the morning of Friday July 25 to see when the repair may start. I was told I would get a call back that day and never did. This was just the start to many promised return calls that would never happen. I called again Monday morning and Monday afternoon with no answer on when my job would start. Finally my call Tuesday morning yielded an answer that they would be able to start my repair Thursday July 31st. I explained to them that I was nervous about the time considering my situation with the sale of the home and it was like talking to a wall. They never cared and the rest of their actions has proved it. I called again Thursday afternoon to get an update on the repair. I explained to them that I was out if town and would like to be kept informed on the progress of the job. Something i didn't feel was asking too much. They said that they had to go back on Friday to finish up. I called Friday at lunch to get an update. Again I was promised a return call and it never happened. I tried to call them late Friday afternoon and I had to leave a message. It is now the morning of Monday August 4th and I have to call again to find the status of the repair. The girl at the front counter says that she had to check with the repair guy to make sure the job was complete so she can send me the final invoice for payment and promised to call me back. I waited 6 hours and called back just to get the same song and dance. She said that she would have an answer for me by 4pm. There has been no care for the customer. I keep getting a run around and what I was assured would be done by a certain day was not kept. I am truly frustrated with the service I have received and would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

Hired these guys after Hurricane Irma damaged our roof on Jupiter Island. Ran into many problems with these guys. They damaged many windows with the cement used on the starter row and cap material on a clay tile roof. They damaged the landscaping and knocked down a tree. They carted the tree off with out saying anything, I suppose they were hoping we wouldn't notice. They left surplus tile on the roof and even left new damaged roof tile on the new roof. Their guys used a cement mixer on the grass killing patches of our lawn. Between oil leaks on their trucks and hydraulic fluid all over our brick paved driveway there was no extra charge for that to us. The rear patio and surrounding area had tar smudges all over. Parts of the gable were left with no treatment or flashing and bare wood is showing. That will rot in time. We tried to speak to the owner who knew of the problems but he didn't care enough to do anything about the problems. We still owe a small balance and get regular collection calls while they ignore the damages. We have no choice but to file a compliant with the state. If you use these guys hold a substantial amount for damages they cause. You won't have any luck getting the owner to deal with problems later. read more

Our experience with on shore was to say the least horrible. I'll start with the one good thing, the people that came out were polite and efficient. We began what I thought would be a quick fix, but turned into a nightmare. A job that took 3 trips to finish was started in February and did not get completed until June 20th! The excuse was always they were waiting on the tiles or we need to come look at what kind of tiles you need. It was a vicious circle. When the tiles were finally brought here they couldn't be put in, because construction work needed to be done first, hence more phone calls. The construction was completed and we were told the tiles would be put on the next day. A week later I called and was told "we are just waiting to make sure the roof doesn't leak". I said it hasn't leaked in 4 months. Once again I was told they would be out the following day. Another week goes by and finally the job is complete. read more

My girlfriend and I had a terrible experience with this company. What they quoted as a three day job to fix two flat roofs ended up taking over 3 months. While they were fixing one of the roofs the workers had driven nails through the ceiling leaving holes aand the primed wood they puty up was left with bootprints and a gap between two of the boards. The real troubles began when I went up on our roof to check the progress and they had begun putting on a roof that was different from our contract. The explained that this was a better product and reassured us that this was better for us and "wasn't saving them any money" (later to find out that this better roofing material was left over from another job). Since the roof was already in progress we decided to let them go ahead and proceed with the roof they said would be better quality. After they were finished I again went up on the roof to check in on the work. It turned out the material they put up began peeling off of the roof. I called thmn and asked them if they would remove the material original roof. The owner stated that there had been an "unexplainable chemical reaction" and that he would patch up the spots that had come undone. I did not feel comfortable with the "unexplainable chemical reaction" and that I would like for them to remove the material they had laid down and go with the original roof that was in our contract. The owner refused stating that it would be very difficult if not impossibel to remove the material and continued to state that the "unexplainable chemical reaction" should be of no concern to us. After weeks of emailing back and forth the owner came out and looked at the roof to find that the material peeled off with ease. He also looked at teh holes in the ceiling and bootprints left on the ceiling and stated that I already had a lot of work to do, implying that it would not be a big deal for me to correct the errors of his workers. Weeks went by with no contact from Onshore and we were eventually contacted to have the roof with the "unexplainable chemical reaction" replaced. Again after weeks of no contact we were left with small nail holes and bootprints on the ceiling. Eventually they contacted us asking what it was that they needed to do to finish up the job. They sent out some workers who again did not know why they were there. They left a few holes and did a poor job patching up the gap in the wood. Waznting to be done with the company I let teh holes and poor workmanship slide and called thenm to tell them I'd pay them the following Friday. Two days later the owner had the office workers contact my eight month pregnant girlfriend and threaten that they would put a lien on our home if we did not pay by Tuesday of that week. What it comes down to is we felt bullied by the owner because we wanted good qulaity work. read more

RIPOFF ALERT!! On Shore Roofing agreed to match the price of a competitor. We gave them a deposit of almost $7,000. They sent us to their supplier to pick out the material for the new roof. We went to THEIR supplier and picked out a standard metal roof. Later on we got a call from On Shore saying they would need to charge us an additional $10,000 for the roof. We told them that was not our agreement and we asked for our deposit back. Joe Kolinoski, the owner of On Shore said we either had to pay him the additional 10 grand or lose our $7,000 deposit. I do not write reviews but I feel with the service we received from On Shore Roofing I should share my story. We purchased a home in Palm City in March of 2018. During the inspection we observed some areas where there had been a leak however were told that the leak was remedied and corrected. Fast forward a month and a half later, during the heavy rains of May we were watching TV when one of the sky lights above us began to leak. I contacted two local companies and was told I would be contacted back. It took one week of waiting when I was recommended by a friend to On Shore Roofing. I stopped by the office and spoke with the staff who told me they would have someone come by, hopefully by the afternoon. The owner of the company then came out and spoke with me where he took the time to answer all my questions about the roof. By the time I returned home, not even 30 minutes later I had two On Shore Roofing trucks pull into my driveway. (It was still raining) While the doorbell rang, the ladders hit the roof and the workers began to take care of business. The workers corrected the problem which was not the skylight, it was the way the skylight was installed. To this day, we still have not had a problem. In a day in age where anyone can write something about anyone anonymously, I wanted to take the time to express my family and I appreciation for good, quality, honest work. Onshore Roofing is a very dishonest company. Do not trust them. They had put a flat roof on the back of the house I bought and it always had ponded water on it. As much as 2 to 3 inches in some areas. I decided to replace my entire roof. I requested upfront to see my roof sheathing (plywood) under my old roof when they removed the roofing because I thought if it had leaked, they would honor their warranty. I didn't even know when they were going to start and when they finally did, I never heard from them until I received an email saying I owed them for 15 sheets of plywood they needed to replace on my roof. I rushed home to find that they had already covered the plywood with the membrane material so I never had a chance to inspect the old plywood for leaks. I think it leaked under the portion nof the roof they had done and rather that honor the warranty, they charged me extra and covered up their problem. Don't use Onshore Roofing!!!! read more

Horrible, never use them. It has been over 4 months and my roof is still not installed. They do not understand customer service. They absolutely do not understand how to set its client's expectations. You can not trust a single word that comes from them. They will lie to cover their mistakes. It should not take 3 months to get a simple re-roof permit. Then at the whim of the owner he will pull the crew from your re-roof to go to another higher paying job. I have ceiling damage because the roof was not properly sealed after the tear off. It is one unnecessary delay after another. And OnShore is the only reason for the delays. The owner finally came out to my property stating he was taking over the project - he even gave me his cell phone number - promised this job would be finished in 3 days. Yet another lie. I heard 2 different excuses from different employees of the delay. And anyone that is even slightly familiar with the permit/inspection process knows that they are full of it. What is the point of receiving the owner's cell phone number if he does not answer or return any of your messages? All I want is my roof to be completed - nothing more and nothing less but that seems to be a huge problem with this company. They have failed in so many senses of the word.
