Really friendly gentleman working behind the counter and what a gorgeous place. I wish I could sit down, read and have a cup of their amazing coffee. We got a latte and a chai latte. Mmmm so good. The coffee was flavourful but not too acidic and the chai was so delightful. They had a ton of great looking treats to try as well. I highly suggest this place if you need a little pick me up. I stopped by in a recent visit to Toronto when it made more sense to wait for my wife than to drive back and forth from our hotel in Mississauga amidst... hey did you know that (unscientific as this may be) traffic may actually be worst on weekends than during the week? Reason is that, while many folks commute using public transit, car owners drive to their destinations on weekends. This is a small, sun-shiny kind of space, with Wifi. The front part, especially, is a good place to bask in the rays. They seem to offer a few food choices for breakfast and lunch, but since I was just looking for a place to hang out for 90 minutes, I was going to be "minimal patron". I thought about another coffee, but decided against it, since I already had double the caffeine I usually consume before noon, I opted for the "cheapest" choice, in the form of a Perrier. Cha-ching and "ouch" and $3.74 later (OK it's CAD, but still), I'm left wondering whether I could have made a better choice: as in, a cookie and that bottle of water I had with me?

The creator/owner, Ella Pang, warmly greeted my mother and I. (She was physically distant and masked.) She carefully let us try every flavour available that day of her infamous Pang's Bean Cakes! But she sells more than cakes (think of moon cakes - dense little cakes made of all sorts of bean), in fact she also makes fresh bean milk daily (think soy milk - but made with different beans: chickpea, red bean and black bean). So we left with a LOT more than expected! Highly recommend the cakes as gift items for older, Asian relatives who are more health conscious or prefer less sweet or savoury desserts. ATMOSPHERE: A cute little coffee shop, located in a strip plaza with ample parking. A bright and open space - too bad you can't dine in right now... Currently only offering take out. And a limited time offer of FREE delivery on orders over $50 - for as far as Mississauga. SERVICE: Fantastic! Ella is super hospitable. Eager to show all her best products. She's very proud of her work, and happy to share. Converse in Mandarin, some Cantonese and English. PRICE: Up to $6 for specialty drinks. Bean cakes start at $9.99 for 6 pieces in a box. The better flavours are $11.99 per box. The gift boxes start from $22.99 - super affordable! FOOD: The shop is best known for their varied bean products. All are healthy, and low in sugar. The flavours are asian - Ella is Chinese and a lot of the items are flavours she grew up with. My mum LOVES the bean cakes, because they are not too sweet and fit her asian palette well also. Our faves include the Black Ginger Turtle Bean Cake, and the Green Pea Cake with Adzuki (aka red bean) Filling! The tastes carry the genuine flavours of the ingredients, and cakes pair very well with tea. We also love their bean milk. Get a cold jug to enjoy for a week or two, or better yet - grab a hot cup to go! So good for winter months. Savoury like soy milk, and filling. Another great item on the menu for cold weather? The veggie soup! PACKED with various vegetables, it's a hearty soup guaranteed to warm and fill you up. In hot weather, grab the refreshing Mojito Slush (virgin) made with fresh basil leaves, lime and club soda. PS. Bean cakes need refrigeration - so if you're traveling far, pack a cooler!

Parking can be a bit busy but usually okay. The service both times has been patient and kind to explain the various options. We decided to go with a milk cake with half lotus and half Dubai chocolate. The cake is soaking in milk which gives it a "wet cake" texture. I imagine it may not be everyone's favorite texture but has decent flavor. The crunchy topping contrasts against the soft, moist cake. The lotus has that nice cookie flavor and crunch while the Dubai chocolate with pistachio offers that chocolate and nutty flavor. I prefer the latter but both are good. We also got a matcha strawberry latte to go. Both really nice to look at and to drink. The matcha has good flavor without being overly bitter while the strawberry provides that fruity sweetness to the drink. Overall, it's a pricier experience but I enjoyed it and will be back.

You can choose to get it either soft or crispy. You can also get pistachio or chocolate sauce on the side. - The iced tiramisu latte was excellent! A recent Yelp elite event introduced me to Kanafani Sweets. I returned for its Dubai chocolate bars. Kanafani Sweets is located in a plaza on the northeast corner of Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East. It's in the same plaza as the Potato Bar. I had no problem finding parking. I pulled into a parking spot in front of the store and walked in. The order pickup area was in front of me. I read the signs and the order area was a few steps deeper into the store. I had the nicest woman who cheerfully said hi. She was helpful with answering my question and offering suggestions. She showed me the qashtuta, which was milk cake. She let me know that I could either get a solid flavour, such as Biscoff, or do three different flavours, such as Biscoff, hazelnut, and Dubai chocolate. Wow! My Yelp experience consisted of having knafeh, which I absolutely love. She said that it could be made soft or crispy. I love crispy. She also let me know that I could get either pistachio or chocolate sauce on the side. I went with the former. For the drink, she shared what was popular. The iced tiramisu latte was one of them. I love tiramisu. I was down checking out an iced drink version. I got a buzzer for my order. The knafeh takes roughly ten minutes to make. I sat in a comfy chair near the order area. It was nice to relax after driving for over an hour to get here. I used the washroom. There's an individual stall for women. It was clean, cheerful, and pleasant. I used it again just before I left to run a few errands before heading home. I watched the buzzer light up. I headed to the pickup area. The nice woman had my order ready. She let me know that I got a brownie bite on the house. It was so generous! I thanked her and headed to my table to chow down. The iced tiramisu latte was exceptional. I got a lady finger that I could dip into my drink. The espresso was a good strength with the cocoa. It had milk. You can substitute the espresso for decaf, and the milk for a dairy-free or lactose-free substitute. I didn't bother. It was nicely iced and a good size to wash down everything that I ate. I loved the complimentary brownie bite. The brownie core was delicious. The crispy exterior provided a nice contrast. It was enjoyable to devour! I loved the knafeh. It already had syrup on it. I got syrup on the side, as well as pistachio sauce. I poured the pistachio sauce over the knafeh. So good! The knafeh had cheese inside. It was stretchy and hot. Over time, the cheese lost its stretchy factor as it cooled. It was yummy with the right balance of crispiness and chopped pistachios with the pistachio sauce. The syrup made the knafeh slightly sweet. The sweetness was perfect for my liking. The knafeh was excellent. I have been trying to find a decent place that makes Dubai chocolate bars. Before visiting this store, most places made their bars on their own, but they were too soft. It was as if I looked at the bar and it melted on its own out of fear. I bought a bar of Dubai chocolate Lotus to enjoy. I paid with a credit card and included a tip because staff are so helpful and friendly. This bar was excellent. The crispy filling had Lotus cookie spread in it. The milk chocolate held everything together. I was impressed. I will be back to get the regular bar next. It's such a gem of a Palestinian dessert place. I'll be back. (439)

They assisted in getting a high chair for my baby and helping me find seating while pushing a stroller which helped greatly. The presentation of food was also amazing. I just found both my hot drink and food I ordered lacking in flavor and just average. I ordered the hojicha latte and the Wanoka omurice. Both I could barely taste anything and I know hojicha should be a rich, earthy/toasty/nutty green tea flavor but I couldn't taste any of it, just mostly steamed milk. However my friend really enjoyed her matcha latte so maybe some drinks are better than others or dependent on who makes it. The omurice also was average, the texture/consistency was great but just lacking in flavor. I also ordered a tuna onigiri that also was lacking in flavor and nothing special. However, I did find their desserts to be really great. Found their tofu cream cheese cake and green tea chiffon cake really delicious. Their prices also were a bit overpriced. Perhaps it's best to go to this place for drinks and dessert and skip out on their food.

For starters, the cashier/server greets you in a friendly, Italian way. Secondly, the food itself - it's amazing. I've had a few things - the omelettes, the lasagna and the Baretto panini. All of them excellent. And the service itself, also outstanding. You don't expect table service at a cafe, but Baretto has it anyway. After you've finished your meal, the waiter (who might also be the owner, I'm not sure) asks how everything was. You get the sense that it's not just for politeness, but he really wants to know. Expectation wise? Don't expect Michelin star chefs or fancy interiors. It's a very humble setup in a non-traditional office building with staff who go the extra mile to assist customers. My pasta was made on the spot by the same person who took my order and made my espresso. He was a very honest, hard worker who served customers while making the food and drinks from scratch. I watched him meticulously cleaning all the cooking equipment, espresso machine, countertops, surfaces, and cleaning the floors after serving his customers. I was very impressed by his work ethic and dedication. I tried the penne pasta with mushroom and sausage topped with Alfredo sauce. It came with garlic bread and salad. Their number one ordered meal. So good! The penne pasta with rossa sauce (rose sauce) came with chicken and mushrooms. I prefer the Alfredo sauce as it was rich creamy and delicious. However what made my experience a good one was the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff. In today's fast food world, good service warrants a higher star rating!
