I was instantly pulled in by her personable (non robotic) emails and communication skills. She's so easy to get along with and was so helpful. I love that she understood my vision and her joy for weddings is refreshing. Even though I hired her for just the day of, she always communicated with me and remained updated with all the wedding details. I knew I could always trust her and knew she understood my vision. When I walked into the reception area for the first time at the Villa Verano Estate, I had tears in my eyes and I was literally speechless. From the flowers to the lighting to the table cloths and all the rentals, our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. A special thanks to her team on the actual wedding day because they were absolutely amazing and it went off seamlessly. Her and her team were by my side the entire wedding day constantly assuring me that everything was on track and going as planned, which I didn't particularly see but appreciated so much because I wasn't bothered with one thing. Aileen and her team anticipated what I needed before I even knew that I needed anything. We owe so much of our beautiful wedding day to Aileen! We couldn't have asked for a better coordinator in all parts of the process. She went above and beyond all of the responsibilities in the contract, and you can tell she really loves what she does. Early on in the process, we had already planned some of the wedding ourselves but we didn't have a very cohesive idea for the design side of our wedding. Aileen took the photos we'd saved of things we liked and our thoughts on what atmosphere we were going for and she created a digital design board for us. Her design board included our color palette, layout ideas, and design ideas for every aspect of our wedding from start to finish. It brought all of our ideas together with new ones into one cohesive, beautiful vision. If I could do one thing different it would be that I had found her sooner in the planning process. The wedding was absolutely breathtaking. Every single detail was absolute perfection. The florals were stunning and we could not be happier with her service. I will most definitely use her for my other children's weddings and events. I read the other review on here about her being pricey, but I say you get what you pay for. If you are looking for perfection she is definitely going to provide you with just that.

My intentions for this post are to help other brides learn from my experience. Since this vendor does not allow reviews on her Facebook page and another bride told me her yelp review was somehow removed... I'm going to go ahead and write my review here with hesitation. Our (my fiancé and I) had an amazing first meeting with Shannon Lee-Hough (shannon Hough Events). We were very impressed with her ability to just pick up the phone and call vendors when she found out we needed a DJ for our wedding. We ended up hiring her and put a deposit of $2250. We were looking forward to having less stress with this planning process. Well, she gave us two quotes over the next couple days which were both $5k or more for deejay services. We thought that was quite high and even joked that possibly she was marking the prices up. Then I went to her about cake tastings and invitations. While she was pressuring me to use her for floral services by telling me that she had another bride interested. She set up a cake tasting for us. I thought she was setting up two, but she only set up one and had the baker dropped the cakes off at our house. (She blamed this on me.) I had told her I don't know what I need to do and I wanted to be treated as a 5 year old because I want my hand to be held, but she still thought it was necessary to ask if I just wanted the cakes dropped off. I said dropping off is fine. I was currently stressed about her doing florals for another wedding. My wedding was at 11 am. How could she possibly do floral for another wedding? The cakes were dropped off at a different time than she told us and we were at another appointment. (Invitations, again another vendor we found on our own and made our own appointment). She's texting us asking why we aren't there? Uhm, because they aren't supposed to be there for another two hours. When I asked about invitations she literally sent me contact info for two invitation vendors for me to contact on my own. That's frustrating, but okay. So I get in contact with them but I'm annoyed by the questionnaire. Can I just see some samples? We decide to just walk in to a local vendors to see what they had. They were the sweetest mother and daughter and were just extremely helpful! I saved the best for last!!! Floral... I set up a meeting with her and she did a beautiful mockup. Just gorgeous! We were excited to have our wedding planner and florist all in one. One less vendor to have to find! A couple of days after our appointment Shannon sent us a PayPal request for $5,500 for our floral deposit. That seemed quite high so we asked her for an estimate on our floral and she said she couldn't give us one because we didn't know all the details yet and she wanted to do another mockup for $300. Wait... what? So again, I request an estimate. The response was $18,000 + so I talk to a friend of mine and they were shocked too. She doesn't have a store front and all the overhead that comes with that and they told me I needed to ask for a breakdown. They were actually shocked that she didn't send one. Well, being that our big centerpieces were almost $800. Shannon sent another PayPal request for $4,000. (She was lowering her deposit amount) I got a gut feeling. Something I couldn't explain. we decided to tell shannon to go ahead and let the other bride know she's available to do their wedding. This was stressing me out. We finally went to shannon and expressed our concerns. I was feeling like my wedding planner was more concerned with getting hired for floral design than actually planning my wedding and relieving stress. To our surprise, she offered a refund. We sat down that weekend and thought: we don't have a wedding planner, we don't have florals, we haven't decided on inviatations. We are more stressed now then before we hired her. It's probably best for us to take that refund, move our date, and move forward from there. We expressed this to her over text (that's her preferred communication method) she tried to call me but my tonsil was swollen and it was difficult to talk. Monday morning she sent us a text letting us know she will not be refunding us. WHAT?! She proceeded to tell us why we should be happy with her. No matter what I said she argued with it. Finally, I told her that if she wasn't going to give us our money back then she needed to call our vendors that we had already called and set everything back up. I don't Think she was expecting that. I think she thought she was just going to walk away with $2250. Things got really ugly from there. I'm sure she can say plenty of bad things about us, but she's supposed to be a professional and she certainly DOES NOT behave that way. There are many other things I could say, but my energy is gone. I can't put any more into this person.

The area is open with lots of space to hold an event. We used the main floor for our tables, the elevated area for our photo props and the dirt/gravel area for our food caterer to set up. They provided tables and chairs which helped us alot. I would definitely recommend this venue to my friends and will use them for future events as well! The owner is amazing and always answered my questions in a timely manner. Love this place!

We received dozens of compliments from our guests. Our photographer got hundreds of amazing photos thanks to the beautiful landscape and carefully laid out decor. We booked a year in advance and the process was so simple leading up to our wedding. The owners were fantastic to work with. Extremely kind, helpful and communicative to make planning a breeze. I was also stunned that the price was so affordable compared to every other wedding venue I looked at. I would highly recommend booking for an event here asap. I can almost guarantee that in a year from now, it will be impossible to get into!     I hired her to cater a brunch, even payed for extra servers to make sure the brunch runs smoothly…read more She showed up LATE, and had none of the food prepped, not even the cake.. my guests left without eating, and she refused to refund me the money, I then asked her if I can keep the groceries since I won't be getting my money back and she said NO. She said she would be donating it to a homeless shelter. Worst experience I've ever had with a catering company. I urge you not to make the same mistake I did.

Did not show till 1030 to start prep. We had a party of 50 people and ordered lamb pops, pastry balls, fruit cups, and another items for apps all which should've been served at the start of event. Didn't get served till 1230 which wasn't too bad, first set of lamb pops were completely raw, Linda says "oh they were thick I'll make more" first red flag Lunch was suppose to be served at 130, she gave us a time to 145. Lunch items were Spinach Quiche, bacon quiche, tea smoked cod, shashuka, and a chicken dish. 2Pm comes and food is nowhere near ready. We appease our guests by providing our own snacks we had in our home. 3pm shows and only the quiche is ready, and our brunch was set to end at 330pm. At this point Linda tells us she needs 30-45 more minutes. We called it quits, ordered pizza and told her to stop cooking as we can't keep our guests hungry which we did. She was also suppose to make a cake which was not even started at that point. Only about 30% of our food was actually served and we told her since that happened we want back 20% of the 50% deposit. She states we made her stop cooking because she could've made all the food, by which all of our gusts would've been gone. She made excuse after excuse instead of taking proper accountability, completely ruined our farewell brunch for our friends and family who came from out of the country to come to our wedding. She refused to give us back any money for only serving us 30% of the food, would not recommend and I will personally ensure she does not ruin anyone else's event
