We were in Broadbeach for ten days in January, everytime we walked past there would be a long line…read more A friend of ours were there a week prior & they said on three days the shop was out of meat. We purchased two Souvlaki's chicken & lamb, 3 drinks & 2 chips, total was $75 what an absolute stich. We were with 7 other friends & noticed that 4 of the souvlaki's had two pieces of meat only, whilst others had 4 pieces. It was basically a salad roll, that we could have purchased from Subway for $10. We spoke to one of the workers & made her aware of the lack of meat, she didn't say anything at all & walked away. Two minutes after the cook come & asked what the problem was, we explained & he said they measure 100grms of meat for each souvlaki. We then asked why some people had 1, 2 or 4 pieces of meat, he said no its not the case as everything is equally measured. We asked if we could have more meat with our salad roll & would pay for it. Surprise surprise they had run out of meat, it was 7:15pm & they close at 8:30pm, people were being turned away. Shortly after that the owner approached the table & said that we were rude to the female staff member. We explained the situation again, no apology from the owner or even a suggestion come back tomorrow, to make up for the unpleasant quality of food & service. How appalling to make such a false, slanderous, defamatory accusation, that we were rude to the staff member, no such thing occurred. We are professional business individuals & family oriented people. I'm not sure what the hype of the shop is about, there's nothing special. If the shop was in the local suburbs of Brisbane, it would have closed within six months. As it's in a tourist position of QLD, there not going to get repeat business from the same customers. They are literally cheating, ripping people off & taking advantage of the tourists, somewhat disgusting. In summary nothing special about the lamb shop, there are so many other restaurants & takeaways far better quality & value.
