This place just popped up a few months ago, I thought it could end up being a staple in my diet…read more Been here 3x now - - it's okay, they could really do so much better. It's geared towards the gym rats, tons of amino acids and weight gain supplements. The guys who work here could probably help supplement your car jack if you ever needed some help lifting your car to fix a flat. They have tons of smoothies and shakes, aka "meal supplements". There's so many to choose from you could literally stand there for an hour just mulling over the choices. Why some may think that's a good thing it can also be a drawback if the information is not organize well because you can easily get lost in their 40+ choices listed, and it could make it more difficult to make your decision. Also - they are short on salesmanship, I should offer a lesson of sorts to help them out. I have to ask what's popular, it's usually the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Shake (which has real peanut butter). But twice I've been there and twice they've run out of peanut butter. I'm like - WTF? That's your top seller and you're out of peanut butter? Again? I'd say send someone to HEB ASAP and get a damn jar of PB so you can make some sales! Or - how about this concept - let's keep an inventory of peanut butter in the back? Hmmm.....now that's a thought. There's a drive-thru as well, not a lot of traffic here, so that's why I think these little things could help give them a boost. I'd say they are premium priced for what they offer (a small scoop of powder + ice + water + add ins) for about $4-5 per shake, but they're basically the only one in town that I know of that offers such shakes - so that kinda gives them some free reign. Maybe next time I'll show up with a jar of peanut butter - just in case!

Had an awesome brunch here this morning. The food was all really good. I got the southwestern…read moreskillet which was the perfect blend of cheesy spicy potatoes and scrambled eggs, with some chicken sausage to round it all out. I also tried a bite of the strawberry cream waffle and it was delicious! Crunchy on the outside and soft and creamy inside. The service was quick and friendly, and overall just a great experience. I'm visiting from out of town, but would definitely come back here if I'm ever in the area.

I was going to go to Miller's Smokehouse for breakfast this morning until I spied this. Since I…read morehadn't had a good waffle in awhile, so I decided to check it out based on generally positive reviews. Well first, the place is inviting for people of a certain age as well as for young people with many decorations evocative of the hippie era. It's clean and very pleasant. The menu is ambitious, I think they try too hard to be cute. And though the service was excellent, it all came down to the food for me. I ordered the Birdie Trio. It sounded interesting. But too many of these restaurants trying to do chicken and waffles take the shortcut and use processed boneless chicken parts reformed to look like an actual natural piece. I was supposed to get a thigh on each waffle. The chicken vaguely resembled thighs. But the meat was white and very salty. Not good. Should I ever drop in again, I'll stick with a more traditional combination and maybe my extra will be better. And oh, that credit card machine is set at a default of about 22% tip and that's on top of tax. Watch out!

They also have ready-made salads and wraps. They have beverages such as topo Chico. They sell Siete chips. They have an adjoining room with a sitting area and a bar where they serve beer and wine. They also have some seats in front, outside, so bring your dog! Upon entering, we were greeted promptly and treated well by our server and sandwich maker, Vanessa. Vanessa was very informative and very helpful in helping us decide what we wanted & telling us about their products. We ordered two sandwiches, a smoothie, a juice and a six dollar bag of chips and our bill was $76. That's a lot of money for two sandwiches, a smoothie, 1 juice and a bag of chips. We could've gone to some fine dining restaurant for $76. The juice was exceptional, my son liked his smoothie. The sandwiches were good. They weren't amazing, but they were good. They were very overpriced! So as for atmosphere and customer service this is an exceptional place to be. I just wish the prices were lower because if they were, I'd come here every day! I will be back for juice, but I can safely say I will never be taking anyone here for lunch. Not at these prices. Oh, they also have a rewards program. For my $76 purchase I have $7.60 rewards to spend. I do like rewards.

My friend really loved her smoothie. While the server was nice and friendly, he was utterly overworked. He was making the drinks and ringing folks up at the cash register. Eight people were in the shop a the same time and it took a while to get everyone's orders and to ring them up. He took all the busyness in stride and did not let the crowd effect his process. It appeared to a spellbound environment for customers. Everyone got served and appeared happy. Also, the server acted as though this was standard fare for him. All in all...everyone seemed happy.

I took it to the workers and one looked and sniffed the almond milk stating it was bad motioning to the other that he should've known. So they make me another. I walked out thinking surely it's right now. It was bad AGAIN! I don't know if both the almond milk and powder was bad or if they didn't clean out the blender but it was still gross. The trays of ingredients were either empty or dirty, the store itself is dirty and not like other Smoothie Kings. After losing my appetite I sent my husband in to get a refund. The kids stated: "we can't do a refund (all 3 of them) we don't know how"..but the manager was on break & they didn't know how long it'd take before he'd come back. So we left paying $8 for a smoothie in the trash! I contacted the health department because it's not safe to serve outdated bad milk. It could make people sick! We tried getting in touch with smoothie King's corporate but they make it hard to find a general manager or anything. Very frustrating. Be warned local Temple people!
